Kiana, defeated after losing the duel, was dejected all the way, turning from a happy little bug into an unhappy amoeba.
"Don't be sad, come on, I'll take you to buy a kids' meal."
Upon hearing about the kids' meal, Kiana's eyes lit up again, and she instantly became much more energetic, even pulling Lu Ze forward impatiently.
Watching their receding backs, Raiden Mei didn't know what she was thinking, she just watched them silently, a hint of disappointment on her face.
"Bronya, let's go back to the dorms first. Come help me in the kitchen later, the groceries we bought at noon haven't been washed yet, I can't manage alone."
Bronya readily agreed, as helping Mei-jie was much better than playing games.
Meanwhile, Lu Ze, who had successfully bought the kids' meal, smiled and handed it to Kiana, gently stroking her ahoge. He found her hair increasingly smooth and pleasant to touch, almost unable to stop.
"Alright, alright, if you keep doing that, my hair will get messy. That's enough! Let's go back quickly, we'll be home just in time for dinner."
"Okay, if it weren't for someone wanting to eat a kids' meal, I'd be lying in my dorm right now. Let's go back quickly, I can't wait to merge with my big bed."
The two returned to the dorms and bumped into Bronya, who was serving dishes. Kiana, naturally, couldn't resist helping out.
However, remembering that the kitchen was her forbidden zone, she thought she could just help with a few dishes and it shouldn't cause any problems, right?
Surely, the kitchen wouldn't explode just because she went in for a moment? How could that possibly happen? Absolutely not!
But two minutes later, as expected, a loud bang echoed from the kitchen. Kiana looked at Raiden Mei with a bit of embarrassment.
"Kiana... why did you touch it?"
Raiden Mei did her best to suppress her anger, speaking as calmly as possible. She couldn't get angry, absolutely not. It must be because she hadn't done well enough, or hadn't explained clearly, that they could blame Kiana.
"I... I thought it was cooked... I'm sorry, Mei... I was wrong!"
Watching the two squabbling, Lu Ze quietly raised his teacup and enjoyed the show. Why didn't he get involved? Please, if he got involved, he might get in trouble.
The pleasant dinner time passed quickly. Lu Ze, with a worried look, carried his backpack and left the dorms, claiming he had something to do in Theresa's office, which was more like helping her with her work.
Honestly, working for so long without any pay, the principal was truly stingy.
He gently tapped the doorframe and waited in place.
After about a minute, Lu Ze looked at the gift in his hand and fell into thought. He never expected the principal to buy him a gift one day. He was so touched, it turned out the principal wasn't that stingy after all.
However, ten minutes later, he began to regret that thought. No wonder she bought him a gift; the files were piled up like a mountain. If he were still working for free, even the principal would feel a bit embarrassed.
"Since you've received a gift, you'd better work hard. I'm looking forward to your performance, Lu Ze... You'll help me, won't you?!"
It sounded like a request, but with that expression, it was impossible to refuse, wasn't it? After all, if he refused, the cross standing beside her might strike him the next second.
Thus, he ended up processing files all night, Lu Ze feeling as if his brain CPU was about to overheat from the non-stop work.
"Thank you, our great hero. To me, you are a hero, I am truly moved."
Seeing the mountains of files on the desk neatly handled, Theresa knew her gift wasn't wasted; at least her workload was completed.
As for the person in question, his brain might have been a little fried, but he was probably fine. After all, if his brain had short-circuited, how could he have finished so many documents?
"I'm exhausted, Principal, please let me go. I really don't want to process any more files."
Having finally found a tool, how could Theresa easily let him go? She shook her head, unwilling to let him off.
"It's alright, how can young people say no? I'll be waiting for you here again tomorrow night. Don't you dare not come. Without you, I don't know how I'd manage."
It sounded tempting, but it was actually a death sentence. Lu Ze began to plan: as soon as he passed the Valkyrie assessment, he would accept missions. Once he left this school, he wouldn't have a headache every night.
However, the Valkyrie assessment hadn't come out yet, and the results would probably be out tomorrow. In just two more days, he could accept missions and finally escape Theresa, the devil.
"Why do I feel like you're thinking of something bad? Lu Ze, you're not planning to leave me after the Valkyrie assessment, are you!"
It could only be said that a woman's intuition was indeed accurate. She guessed his intentions within a couple of tries. How could he possibly play this game?
"How could that be? You're overthinking it. How could I possibly do something like that?"
Lu Ze gave a triple negation. Seeing that it was getting late, he picked up the food Theresa had prepared for him and left.
He even said:
"I've finished my tasks for today, so I'm leaving!"
After all, if he stayed any longer, some peculiar things might happen.
A little while later, seeing the dorm still brightly lit, Lu Ze opened the door with some doubt. The first thing he saw was Kiana sitting on the sofa.
"Welcome back, but so late? What exactly are you hiding from me? If you don't give me an explanation today, don't expect to enter this home again. You were busy in my aunt's office for so long, tell me, I'm listening."
He knew that if he didn't give an explanation today, the good impression he had finally built might be ruined.
He could only honestly explain the whole story. Kiana was shocked. Was this the aunt she was familiar with?
When did she learn to threaten people? And not only that, she threatened her own relatives!
"So that's how it is! Then I'll take you to debate with her tomorrow. But my aunt actually likes reading manga, that's a bit unexpected."
