Chapter 540

Chapter 540

Anton was supposed to spend the rest of his evening after dinner enchanting all the items that Felicity Orwells had purchased earlier. The manor needed the enchanted items. Unfortunately, he wanted to continue reading the web novel that he had found, which was the “Black Tech Internet Café System”.

He decided to compromise and enchanted around 10 of the items, and after that, he continued reading the novel until he was too sleepy to continue.

The butler woke Anton the next day and served him breakfast. He would have thrown a tantrum since he was still sleepy, but the smell of the food invigorated him, so instead of acting like a child,  he decided to just eat his breakfast. After a quick shower, he went to the office slash workspace that Mr. Jenkins prepared for him.

“I’m impressed that you’re able to get this room ready in such a quick time,” Anton said to the butler.

“Ms. Orwells used the furniture prepared for your father’s office. Ms. Orwells said that she will just purchase new ones for your father’s office beside yours.”

The room was a combination of an office and a laboratory, but in an old school medieval style, since everything was made of wood instead of white tiles. The office table and chair were located on one side, and a couple of long tables were on the other end. There were wooden vertical racks placed on the walls with some decorative sculptures and other decorations placed in them. The paintings and tapestries on the wall gave the whole room an elegant style. There were also some bookshelves placed in the room with some books. When Anton checked the books, Mr. Jenkins told him that the books were the common novels that one could purchase in Ormunda and that he could replace them if he wanted to.

“No, just leave them. It’s a nice decorative touch,” Anton told Raymond.

He truly liked the aesthetic of the room and could almost see the alchemist's tools on the table. Of course, Anton just imagined it and would not truly put such tools there, especially since he wasn’t an alchemist.

“I’ll start working on some of the enchanted items,” Anton told the butler, who left immediately.

He did plan to enchant some of the items, but he would only enchant around 10 or even 20 of them and would return immediately to his room to continue reading his web novel. Besides, he didn’t need to rush the project.

After he was done enchanting around 20 of them, he left all those that he had already enchanted on the table. There were around 30 of them all in all. He informed Raymond of the completed items, then he told Mr. Jenkins that he would need to rest in his room.

Once he was back in his room, Anton continued reading the new novel until he was interrupted by Mr. Jenkins for lunch. He joined everyone in the dining room, and after that, he went to his room to enchant another 20 pieces of art. After that, he went to his room again to continue reading his novel.

During the afternoon, Mr. Jenkins informed him that he had a visitor. Anton was a little surprised because he wasn’t close with anyone in the kingdom. When he asked who it was, he was surprised again when the butler told him that it was Ms. Elianah and her younger sister, Laloniah.

Anton met them at the door, and Mr. Jenkins led them into one of the manor’s many seating rooms.

“Ms. Elianah, Ms. Laloniah, to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?” Anton asked the two elven sisters.

“Mr. Sunders, I had fallen in love with your play! May I know when you are planning to host another show?” Laloniah excitedly said with shining eyes.

Anton understood perfectly the younger girl’s excitement. If he were someone who hadn’t seen a movie and had seen one, it would excite him too.

“I apologize, Anton. My sister kept pestering me to visit you to learn if you have plans to host another show screening. She pestered me day and night,” Elianah said exasperatedly while looking at her sister, who ignored her.

“Are there not any other theaters in Ormunda?” Anton asked curiously.

“Your play is different! It’s like we entered their world to watch what was happening in their lives, and that they’re not aware of us!” Laloniah said.

Anton checked the time in his system browser and saw that it was only four in the afternoon.

“It’s called a movie, and since it’s early, if you want, we can watch one right now. A movie would only take more or less a couple of hours, and Mr. Jenkins has already prepared a specialized room where we can watch one comfortably,” Anton said.

“Can we?! Thank you so much! Can I call on a couple of my friends, though? It would only take like around 15 to 20 minutes!” Laloniah said excitedly.

When Anton nodded, the young elven girl ran off immediately, leaving her older sister. Elianah just sighed again and let her sister be.

“How old is your sister?” Anton asked since Laloniah behaved like a typical young girl, even behaving younger than Anna, who was already 13 years old.

“She’s 11 years old this year,” Elianah answered.

“Is it alright to let her be?”

“Yes. She will just get her two friends using our carriage, and our driver is a high-level elf capable of protecting her. Besides, her friends live nearby, and it’s safe here in this area.”

“I can understand her excitement since my sister is almost the same age as her. Anna is currently at one of the magic schools that litter this kingdom, but before she went there and before the tragedy that happened to our family, she was very enthusiastic about watching movies and television shows,” Anton said to the elf.

“What is a television show?” Elianah asked.

Anton was a little taken aback. He forgot that he had just recently introduced movies to a few Ormundans and was not aware of some of the other media that he could present. When he was aboard the Amelia, he had gotten used to other people being familiar with a lot of things since most of them had seen a few movies and had almost gotten used to some of the terms. Especially his family and friends.

“A typical movie usually lasts around two hours. A television show is like a very long movie or storyline that is separated into what they call episodes, and an episode usually lasts 30 minutes to an hour, and then further separated into what they call a season. A season usually consists of 10 to more than 20 episodes,” Anton described to Elianah.

Elianah looked amazed.

“I couldn’t imagine something like that!”

“You can think of it as something like following the adventures of a main character. For example, if a story is about a villager turning into a powerful adventurer, the process of his coming from nothing and then turning into a hero will be recorded and watched by viewers. We know that that kind of process is long.”

“Can we watch something like that? “ Elianah unexpectedly asked.

Anton saw that the elven woman regretted that thoughtless question, since if something like that could be done, it would be a huge commitment for Anton. He answered it anyway, and he tried to be as tactful as he could.

“Unfortunately, I couldn’t commit to something like that since right now, I’m busy delving dungeons.”
