Chapter 539
Anton finished a movie that he was planning to watch before Mr. Jenkins knocked on his door to inform him that they were done arranging the treasure in the treasure room. While they were walking, the butler informed him that they were unable to categorize the items since they didn’t know the details of each one.
“We don’t need to bother with that. My father will be the one who’s going to identify them. Not only that, there’s a chance that those items would not remain in the treasure room for too long. My father might distribute them to his people to be used, and those that they don’t have any use for, I’ll just ask him to sell them.”
“Sell all of them? Normally, wealthy nobles will have their collection of magical items. Why don’t you keep them since it appeared that you don’t need coins, since you can earn them selling other things?” The butler suggested.
“You’re probably right, but I don’t want to bother with them and will just let my father decide.”
When they arrived at the treasure room, Anton inspected the arrangement that was done inside, and he was a little pleased because now, the treasure room looked like a proper treasure room. He was still not satisfied with the two chests of gold coins, though, and would probably spend three or four days delving on the 30th
floor of the Corridors of Amuneta to earn more gold coins. Besides, he didn’t have to do anything while he was inside the dungeon and could level up his character while his summons killed the dungeon monsters. He planned to return to challenging himself with the lower floors once he was satisfied with the amount of gold coins that the treasure room had.
When Anton was done inspecting the treasure room, they all went outside, and Anton activated the defensive array. At first, he planned to give either Ronia or Mr. Jenkins permission to open the treasure room, that was why he requested the one that would allow people outside of his family to be authorized to open it, but he realized that it would just endanger Ronia and Mr. Jenkins.
Since Anton had already given them the budget they would need to complete their job in the manor, he would just let them be, and if they needed more funds, he would give it to them once he returned from delving into the dungeon.
“Sir Anton, may I tell you something? The number of enchanted items that you’ve made was not enough for the whole manor. I could purchase something like them from the magical shops, but that would increase the budget that I can use for something else,” Felicity Orwells said once the treasure room was locked.
“Is that so? In that case, please provide me with a list of items that I need to make, but remember that I can only do the same things that I’ve already given you. Additionally, please purchase sculptures that I can enchant with the enchantment the manor requires. I will hold off in returning to the dungeon until I complete that project.”
“I will go ahead and purchase them right now since it’s still early,” Ms. Orwells said, then she immediately left.
Before the interior decorator left, Anton advised her to purchase a lot of the sculptures that would be used for enchanting purposes. She only needed to prioritize the aesthetic of the items since he could enchant whatever size of the sculptures that she would buy.
Anton was about to leave to rest in his room while he waited for Ms. Orwells to return with the items that he could enchant, when he asked Mr. Jenkins and Ronia again if their budget was enough. Both people looked at him with exasperation on their faces and told him that everything was well-planned. He reminded them to call him once Ms. Orwells returned with her sculptures and other art pieces.
In his room, Anton spent the time waiting by reading a web novel. He found a Chinese translated web novel titled “Black Tech Internet Café System”, and after a few chapters, he was hooked. The novel was a mixture of cultivation and urban sci-fi setting because of the fact that the MC had a system that converted Earth’s movies and games into a virtual reality that his customers in his internet café could enter through black technology. The fun part was the games and movies allowed the cultivators and warriors to increase their strength whenever they level up inside the games. It was almost similar to his system. The main difference was, he was the only one who could level up in his Diablo II system.
The reason why Anton liked the web novel so much was that the characters made the book come alive. He liked the interaction between the MC and his customers who, based on what he had read so far, were becoming his friends. He also liked the idea of old-school cultivators becoming amazed at Earth’s games like Resident Evil, Counter Strike, Diablo II, and other single-player and online games.
When Anton heard Mr. Jenkins knock on his door, he almost ignored it because he was immersed in reading his new favorite web novel. After a while, though, Anton just sighed and told the butler to come in. Mr. Jenkins informed him that Ms. Orwells had returned with the sculptures and other art pieces that she purchased.
“Mr. Jenkins, I think I will need a separate office or a workplace. It felt awkward to me for people to come to my bedroom all the time. I think I should stay in a work space or office instead of my bedroom whenever I’m home but not resting,” Anton told the butler.
“Very well, Anton. I will go ahead and prepare one of the larger rooms to be converted as your work space. Do you have a preference on the location?”
“I think it’s better if it's near the office that you’ve selected for my father.”
Mr. Jenkins then said that he would work on it as soon as possible, and in the meantime, he could use the butler’s office since it was big enough. When they arrived at Raymond’s office, Ms. Orwells and Ronia were there waiting with all of the art pieces that they purchased on the ground. On a quick count, Anton saw that there were around 100 of them.
“Ms. Orwells, can you go ahead and separate the pieces and group them based on what enchantments you would like me to put into them. You already know the list of enchanted items I can make.”
Felicity Orwells worked on Anton’s suggestion immediately, and after a few minutes, she was done. Then she told him which enchantment he could put onto specific groups of items. Based on his calculations, it would take him around 15 to 20 hours to complete everything, if he worked on it nonstop, which was impossible.
He told them that it would take him several days to complete everything. After that, Almida Noria, the head maid, entered Raymond’s office after knocking to inform them that dinner was ready. They all went to the dining room to eat. Anton was thankful that everyone behaved informally around him and joined him at the table. More than likely, it was the work of Ronia and the dwarves since he did insist before when they were living at his first house that they do so, since he was not a noble.
Raymond Jenkins did complain about the informality of it all. Anton just told him that once his father arrived and they purchased a noble title, if they did, then they could start behaving differently. To be honest, though, Anton probably wouldn’t change the current situation even after he managed to get a noble title.
