Chapter 198: Fact

Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Fact

Victoria was getting impatient to meet Lena so that all this strange problem could be resolved quickly. Finally, she came face to face with Lena in a secluded place. However, she wasn’t being foolish either, as she invited Ansel to accompany her and escort her. Moreover, Lena had invited her to meet at a secluded cafe tucked away in a small alley.

Now Victoria wants to focus on Lena to prevent her from suddenly changing her mind. If Lena betrays her too, she’ll admit defeat to Fransisca, who is so cunning she carries out all her evil deeds without leaving a single trace.

"Actually, I have a proposal for you, Lena. If you cooperate with me and Matthias, then I won’t have you thrown in jail for colluding with Fransisca."

Lena smiled casually as she sipped her plain tea. "Actually, I wanted to see you because I wanted to give you all the evidence of Fransisca’s crimes, including the accident you were involved in two years ago."

"If I may ask, why are you suddenly acting like this? Haven’t you been keeping quiet all this time?"

"Because I’m actually really sick of working under Fransisca. She keeps torturing me every time her plans fail."

Ansel rested his chin on his hand. "So, do you also have proof that Fransisca was the one who actually wanted to kill Matthias?"

"Actually, I’ve been recording our conversations and everything she’s been doing," Lena looked at Victoria with pity. "Victoria, I’m sorry to tell you the truth now. It has to do with the death of your baby and your father."

Thinking about the tragic deaths of her father and baby shattered her heart. Her right hand began to tremble, but fortunately, Ansel quickly calmed her down.

"Was my father’s death not caused by Gianna?"

Lena lowered her head as she played a video on her phone. "Actually, during the emergency meeting, I wanted to reprimand you for cornering Gianna too much. The killer who killed your father wasn’t her, but Fransisca. You saw it with your own eyes."

Victoria sobbed as she watched a video showing Fransisca putting on rubber gloves and then turning off the device that was helping her father breathe. Then, to make matters worse, Fransisca took a pillow and hit her father in the face, causing him to lose his breath and suffer a sudden heart attack. Her vision became increasingly blurry as she watched the video, especially as it was quite long, as Fransisca had cursed her father.

"How dare she kill my father! All this time, my father cared more about her than me!"

Ansel furrowed his brows. "But, when did you start recording it? Did you know Fransisca was going to kill her stepfather?"

Lena lowered her head. "Actually, I’ve known her plan from the start. She wants to fight for Victoria’s position in the company. After all, she’s had a fight with her stepfather over not getting anything."

Victoria wiped away her tears for a moment and clenched her right fist. "So, you were secretly recording all this?"

"Of course. I actually started to suspect something when she visited your father several times. On the day your father died, I noticed something strange about her enthusiastic demeanor. Then, when she visited your father, she stayed in the hospital room for too long, which is not her usual behavior. So, when I quietly opened the door, she tried to kill your father."

It felt increasingly suffocating to hear all this. If she continued listening, she might faint and end up in the hospital. However, she had to remain strong so she could take Fransisca down in an instant.

"Besides planning to kill your father, she also wanted to kill your baby. Do you know why she suddenly became friends with Amber?"

"Does she actually just want to take advantage of Amber because Amber has the same goals as her?"

Lena nodded. "I’ve already told her not to, but she insists that your baby shouldn’t be born."

Even though Victoria wasn’t his wife, Ansel immediately slammed the table when he heard her. "She’s so outrageous! She’s even crueler than her mother."

"Besides that, she was also very cunning in hiding all the evidence of her crimes," Victoria continued.

"It’s precisely because she’s cunning that I always secretly record her crimes so you and Matthias can catch her." Lena played another video from the D&C Group’s anniversary party. "This is the moment you had your miscarriage."

Victoria shuddered even more in fear as Fransisca deliberately used her left foot to trip her dress. Then, she saw Fransisca’s sinister smile as she watched her fall down the stairs, rolling and bleeding. She remembered how Fransisca had seemed to want to get close to her, but behind that smile, she was actually trying to stab her in the back.

"Lena, is there any other evidence that proves his crimes?"

"Actually, I have other evidence, but it probably won’t be accepted in court. I also have evidence that he initially ordered me to call someone to stab Matthias."

"But do you know who did it? I’m going to meet that person and make him confess that Fransisca told him to stab Matthias."

"I will give you the contact later."

Victoria crossed her legs haughtily. "But I’m still curious about you. Besides Fransisca constantly tormenting you every time her plans fail, why are you suddenly being so honest?"

"Actually, Matthias has met with me before. He warned me and gave me one last chance. If I cooperate with you, my family won’t be in trouble anymore."

After a lengthy conversation with Lena, Victoria returned to the hospital to be with her husband. As she walked weakly into the executive suite, she couldn’t hold back her tears any longer. While speaking with Lena and hearing all of her confessions was a good thing, she wasn’t mentally prepared to hear the truth. Especially the fact that her father had been murdered by her half-sister.

She slowly climbed into bed and lay down next to her husband. Just as she was about to turn around, she suddenly felt a warm embrace from him.

"Tory, cry your heart out."
