Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Plan To Catch Main Villain

Her breath became increasingly labored as she continued to think about Lena’s words about Fransisca’s crimes over the years. Hearing her husband’s words, allowing her to cry freely, Victoria refused to hold back her sadness. After all, Matthias had been right, always advising her that bottling up her sadness wouldn’t solve any problems. So she ignored Matthias’s gaze as she continued to cry all night.

"You haven’t slept yet?" Victoria asked in a hoarse voice.

"I haven’t slept since you said you wanted to see Lena." His right hand rhythmically patted her supple back. "I knew it would be like this. I was so worried about you."

"But did you know everything from the start? Lena said you met her."

"Yes, I’ve met her. But I don’t know what you meant. What did she say?"

"It turns out my father was killed by Fransisca, not Gianna."

Matthias’s eyes widened. "But why can’t I hear Fransisca’s voice on my recording?"

"Maybe you took your recording device before Fransisca visited my father." Victoria continued to cry, her voice growing hoarse. "Matty, I’m so stupid. I’ve been too focused on cornering Gianna, but the real villain is Fransisca. In fact, Fransisca was the one who was proven to have killed our baby."

Matthias kissed his wife deeply on the forehead. "Tomorrow we will catch her."

Victoria rolled her eyes. "Then what about you? You still need to rest first!"

"You don’t have to worry about me. I’m starting to feel better now. This is all thanks to you who took care of me with all your heart."

"I know you lied to me on purpose so you could go home."

Matthias laughed softly, kissing his wife’s cheek repeatedly. "No. I just want to resolve this quickly so you and I can have a full date. You don’t have to be afraid anymore."

Her right hand slowly caressed her handsome husband’s cheek. "The one thing I’ve never regretted in my entire life is marrying you."

"I still remember you cursing me all the time," Matthias scratched his head innocently. "But it’s nice to see you’ve grown to want to cuddle with me as time goes on."

"No matter what trouble I’m in, you’re the only person who can make me smile again. Thank you, Matthias."

Matthias tightened his embrace, making Victoria a little worried. "By the way, don’t hug me too much. You’ll tear my stitches."

"Sorry. Okay, I won’t hug you too much anymore."

"I’ve been so happy since I married you." His lips landed on her forehead. "After you’ve calmed down, I want you to sleep soundly and forget all your troubles."

"Then I’ll sleep on the sofa."

"Who told you to sleep on the couch as if we weren’t married? Besides, you liked sleeping with me yesterday."

Victoria lowered her head in shame. "I was worried you’d feel cramped."

"In fact, I have trouble sleeping if you don’t sleep with me in bed."

Victoria actually wanted to admit that she had trouble sleeping without her husband’s embrace. Eventually, she lay down and happily hugged him again.

"Well, it’s no fun sleeping on the sofa alone anyway."

"But, are you okay with my body odor? I haven’t showered since yesterday."

"It’s okay. In fact, I really like your body. It smells so unique even though you haven’t showered."

"You were so spoiled, like you were pregnant at that time."

"Actually, since before I was pregnant, I really liked your body scent."

"By the way, are you not going to cry anymore?"

Victoria pursed her lips as she patted Matthias’ shoulder. "So, you’d rather I cry?"

"I mean, I don’t want to see you cry again tomorrow. If you still want to cry, I won’t stop you."

"Don’t worry. In fact, I’m at peace now thanks to you. Tomorrow I want to meet the perpetrator who stabbed you yesterday."

Matthias rolled his eyes. "Why didn’t you tell me from the start?"

"I just don’t want you to worry too much about me."

"But meeting the killer who stabbed me is very dangerous! I don’t want you to be in danger alone. Tomorrow I have to accompany you too."

*****

The next day, before meeting the killer, Matthias and Victoria had an argument because Victoria didn’t want to let her husband accompany her to face the killer in person straight away, especially since her husband is still in the recovery process, it would be very dangerous if he were to be stabbed again.

Victoria couldn’t bear to argue with her husband over such a small matter. Therefore, she was forced to let him accompany her and have Ansel help her in case something unexpected happened.

Now Victoria went to visit the murderer’s residence, escorted by two strong men. She held Matthias’s hand tightly as she looked at Ansel, who looked worried.

"Ansel, you don’t have to worry about me."

Ansel glared at Matthias. "I’m actually worried about your stubborn husband. He shouldn’t be moving around too much!"

Matthias laughed heartily, putting his arm around his friend’s shoulders. "You’re becoming more and more attractive to me. Are you interested in me?"

"Could you watch what you said earlier? Your wife will be sad to hear what you said."

"By the way, could you guys please keep quiet for now?"

In the end, the two men kept their mouths shut. When Victoria rang the doorbell, Matthias and Ansel instinctively gripped her hand tightly, worried that the killer might suddenly try to kill Victoria.

When the door to the residence was opened by a shabby-looking man, Ansel immediately dragged the man roughly into the residence, along with Matthias and Victoria.

Without further ado, Ansel and Matthias tied the man’s body with rope so he couldn’t do anything. Meanwhile, Victoria showed Fransisca a photo on her phone.

"Do you know this person?"

"Who is that woman?"

"If you don’t confess, I’ll make sure you’re arrested by the police today. We have evidence that you stabbed me," Matthias said sharply.

Victoria laughed sarcastically, her hands on her hips. "You should just give up. Why cooperate with a woman who’s going to dump you anyway?"
