Chapter 423: What Does It Take?
After Ye Feimo finished his call and gave his instructions, he returned to the living room. Wen Nuan had finished her breakfast, and he said, "We won’t know where Mom is for a while. How about I take you out for a walk?"
Wen Nuan had wanted to wait at the house for news about her mother, but after hearing Ye Feimo, she thought about their current awkward situation and nodded. She went upstairs to change and came back down with her bag, ready to go.
Athens isn’t very big. The houses are close together and are all different colors, which makes them unique.
Wen Nuan mainly wanted to relax and see the famous local sights. Ye Feimo took her to the Acropolis.
The Acropolis has Athens’s most famous buildings and many other sights to see. Wen Nuan temporarily put aside all her worries and went sightseeing with Ye Feimo. Since she was already in Athens, it would have been a shame not to see anything.
Besides the ancient buildings, temples, and the blue and white of the Aegean Sea, there aren’t many other sights to see in Athens.
Ye Feimo was a very responsible tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the local culture and customs. Even a very ordinary and overused Greek myth would sound interesting when he told it.
Wen Nuan loved to travel and listen to his stories. It was a real treat.
His gentle companionship and thoughtful explanations made her temporarily forget about the problems in their marriage and the fear the curse brought her.
They walked around the Acropolis and ate some local snacks before going up to the top of the Acropolis hill. The Parthenon is one of the world’s most famous ancient wonders, and it was built a long time ago.
Wen Nuan took a lot of pictures. For her, it wasn’t a beautiful building, but it was a special building with a mythological history. It was said that the goddess Athena was once trapped here, and that was another legendary myth.
Ye Feimo’s storytelling was captivating, and Wen Nuan listened with great interest. Wen Nuan didn’t like Greek myths. Her deepest impression of Athena was from the anime *Saint Seiya*. Now, listening to Ye Feimo tell the story of Athena, she found it very interesting.
"How do you know so much?" Wen Nuan asked. She knew before she married him that Ye Feimo was very knowledgeable and seemed to know everything. She just didn’t expect him to know so much about this. When they were in Rome and Milan, he had told her a lot about the local history, which was truly confusing.
"My dad and mom like to travel, so I know a little bit about it," Ye Feimo explained. Wen Nuan nodded. They each had a camera and were taking pictures. The only difference was that Wen Nuan was taking pictures of the scenery, and Ye Feimo was taking pictures of her.
Every single picture he took had her in it.
He took candid shots, spontaneous shots, and every single one of them was beautiful. Wen Nuan saw that he was having a good time and took a few pictures of him, too. Ye Feimo had wanted to ask someone to take a picture of them together, but when he saw that Wen Nuan was busy taking pictures of the scenery, he decided not to say anything.
After they had been at the temple for a while, Ye Feimo got a call. After listening for a moment, his face became serious. He couldn’t help but look at Wen Nuan, who was standing not too far away. A moment later, he hung up. Wen Nuan came over and asked, "Did you get news about Mom? Where did she go? Who did she meet?"
Ye Feimo said, "She went out to sea."
Wen Nuan frowned. Out to sea?
The Aegean Sea?
Ye Feimo seemed to know what she was thinking and nodded. Her mother really did go to the Aegean Sea.
It would be hard to find a person who had gone out to sea. They had no idea which way her mother had gone because she was on a private yacht. Ye Feimo told Wen Nuan the truth, and her face became serious.
"Why do you have to know where Mom went? Are you hiding something from me?" Ye Feimo wasn’t a suspicious person, but Wen Nuan’s behavior was very strange.
"What could I be hiding from you?" Wen Nuan shot back. She paused and then said, "Do I have to tell you everything?"
Ye Feimo looked at her for a moment without saying anything. Wen Nuan also felt that her words were a little too much, so she turned her head away.
She was no longer in the mood to enjoy the scenery. All the famous sights and world wonders meant nothing to her anymore.
After walking around for a while, Wen Nuan wanted to leave. Ye Feimo led her down.
He drove her around the city before going back to the center. Wen Nuan thought about a lot of things along the way. She had come here to find out the truth, and she wasn’t going to give up. "Feimo, is there really no way to find out where Mom went?"
Ye Feimo said, "There is a way."
"Can you help me find out?"
Ye Feimo smiled. "Of course I can help you find out, but what about the payment?"
Wen Nuan was shocked. *Could you be any more shameless? Asking for a payment?*
*Seriously!*
He was just being so sensitive, and now he was being a rascal.
"How much?"
"I don’t need money. What would I do with it?" Ye Feimo said. He looked at Wen Nuan with interest and said, "You know what I want."
"I don’t know," Wen Nuan said stiffly. Ye Feimo wasn’t angry. He seemed to be sure that Wen Nuan would agree. He didn’t say anything else and drove her home. He got a call on the way and told the person on the other end to keep looking. Wen Nuan didn’t know what they were talking about and didn’t ask. But she guessed that Ye Feimo had someone looking for her mother. Since he was already looking, he would definitely tell her.
By evening, Ye Feimo still hadn’t said anything. Wen Nuan was a little disappointed and looked anxious. The butler was no longer at the villa, but the fridge was full. When Wen Nuan asked Ye Feimo where her mother was, he was in the kitchen cooking.
He couldn’t really cook. He was just making a simple egg noodle soup. It looked bland and tasteless. Wen Nuan saw how clumsy he was and her heart softened. Images of her cooking for him flooded her mind. Her heart ached.
What was so great about a divorce?
There would be no more of Ye Feimo’s hugs, no more of his bossiness, and no more of his tenderness. Nothing would be left.
Who would she cook for? Who would she work hard and get tired for without complaining?
In that moment, she thought of many things. She thought about his stomach problems, and her heart softened even more.
She had always cared for Ye Feimo. His personality was so stubborn. If they got a divorce and he became unhappy, what if he got sick? He wasn’t exactly in good health to begin with.
The egg noodles were about to turn to mush, and he still hadn’t turned off the stove. Wen Nuan was so angry that her heart started to hurt. In that moment, she was feeling a mix of affection, anger, and love. She pushed him out of the kitchen.
