Chapter 159: Chapter 108-109
Without getting her gossip fix, Xing Nong’s little face instantly fell, and she pouted, "It’s not polite to only receive without giving. Fine, I won’t tell you whether or not I’m considering military school, hmph!"
"It doesn’t matter if you tell us or not, our Luo Luo is definitely applying to a military school." Tang Luo deliberately glanced sideways at the other person, "It wouldn’t do for anyone to try and imitate our Luo Luo."
"Really? Luo Ye, are you really applying to a military school?" Overcome with excitement, Xing Nong’s voice suddenly rose eight octaves, and just like that, all the students milling around heard her.
"Hey, could you keep it down?" Ying Nuo glared at Xing Nong, irritated. With Luo Ye’s current academic performance, letting this news slip was like asking to be the butt of jokes. It wouldn’t be long now before everyone knew Luo Ye was overestimating his own capabilities.
"Why?" Xing Nong was a bit perplexed, "This isn’t something to be ashamed of, why should we whisper about it?"
Ying Nuo and Tang Luo didn’t know how to respond and sneakily glanced at Luo Ye’s expression.
"Look at you two, sneaking looks like thieves. Am I such a fragile person?" Luo Ye was both amused and annoyed, slapping each of them on the shoulder, "Both of you are asking for a beating."
Ying Nuo chuckled embarrassingly, "Heh heh... We know Luo Luo has thick skin, but... Now that the word’s out, are you really not bothered by people discussing you all the time?"
"What’s there to worry about? Have I not been discussed by others before? Could it possibly be worse than it was?" Luo Ye looked at Xing Nong as he said, "You’ve probably guessed already, my grades aren’t all that great. This semester in the senior year second class, I rank seventeenth, heh heh... Don’t you think I’m overestimating myself too?"
"No way!" Xing Nong’s expression turned serious, "From the first time I met you, I felt we would get along well. I always trust my instincts, and it turns out I was right once again!"
Tang Luo cleared his throat, "Xing Nong, your words seem a bit out of the blue. Can you explain what you mean by ’once again’?"
"I have a friend named Luo Lian, she’s 18 this year. I met her while I was traveling. I struck up a conversation because I took an instant liking to her, and we later became close friends. She’s strong, independent, smart, and currently studying fashion design in France. She plans to return and open a studio after graduating next year. I’ll introduce you guys when she’s back. I believe you’ll like her. My earlier ’once again’ referred to Luo Ye and Luo Lian, both are friends I made based on my intuition."
Ying Nuo scratched his head awkwardly, "Xing Nong, from what you’ve said, Luo Lian does seem smart. Graduating from college at 19 definitely proves that, but why do you emphasize her strength and independence?"
"Sigh!" Xing Nong glanced at the time, "Not enough time now. I’ll tell you her story when there’s a chance; she’s an admirable, self-assured person who nonetheless deserves sympathy."
"Alright, we can talk about it later. We have PE class next, and who knows what it’s going to be replaced with this time." Tang Luo sported a grumpy expression, "Entering senior year, no more PE, no more arts, just studying. Who’s going to snatch this period up this time? Our lucky PE teacher, getting paid for such leisure time. Luo Luo, Nuo Nuo, what’s with the twitching?"
"Dear student, I’ve commandeered this PE period myself!"
Tang Luo got such a fright from the voice that suddenly came from behind her that she jerked around, smiling sheepishly at the figure behind her, "Mr. Ma, it’s you. Hehe..."
Ying Nuo stuck out her tongue and quickly ran back to her own class, not forgetting to stick her tongue out at Tang Luo before entering the classroom - clearly reveling in her misfortune...
Tang Luo was furious and wanted to scratch that girl’s face - but dared not. She could only secretly shake her fist at Ying Nuo, but by then she’d already darted into the classroom - unseen.
"Tang Luo, since you’re so concerned about me being idle, how about you take on the role of PE representative?" Mr. Ma, looking stern as ever, a hidden smile in his eyes.
"Mr. Ma, would that really be okay? Isn’t the election scheduled for next week? This doesn’t seem to follow the rules," Tang Luo hastily declined. She wanted no part of that thankless task and certainly didn’t fancy exhausting herself to death during the sports festival.
Mr. Ma waved it off, "Nothing wrong with that, I’ll clear it up with Mr. Yu. Alright, you take charge as the PE rep this period, get the students out and line them up!"
"Mr. Ma..." Tang Luo still wanted to argue, but one look from Mr. Ma sent her scurrying to reluctantly take on the role.
Luo Ye and Xing Nong, who had been standing aside enjoying the show, both wiped their faces. The most fearsome PE representative in the history of Second Middle School was freshly minted - not to let teachers slack off.
Tang Luo may not cherish the position, but that didn’t mean others wouldn’t. Just standing there for a moment, she’d already attracted plenty of murderous glares. The reason was simple: the PE teacher, Mr. Ma, had just graduated from sports college at 22, standing at 180cm tall with a sturdy build, handsome face – he was every girl’s dream prince. With this dream prince choosing Tang Luo as his assistant, wouldn’t daggers be thrown if not skewers?
