Chapter 421: Through the Eye of the Beast?
Lillian swung her scythe over and over, causing the golden runes etched into the curved blade of her scythe to glow a deep and radiant gold light as arcs of electricity magically formed.
With each swing she made, large waves of crescent moon-shaped electricity shot out.
A vertical swing, a horizontal swing, a diagonal swing—whatever possible swinging motion she made with her scythe, inevitably ended up with a large arc of electricity.
The moment the arcs of electricity left her scythe, they shot down through the air with tremendous speed—connecting with each other into a large net.
And not only that, but due to the dense rain around her, the net of electricity grew even further outwards as arcs leapt to each individual raindrop.
Lillian eventually stopped her swinging and immediately put away her scythe before tilting her body fully downwards, making use of her sword’s air-resistance negating enchantment.
She then held it in a stabbing stance as she fell downwards with a peak speed of approximately 160km per hour, while simultaneously activating the enchantment [Focus Stab].
Bzzt.
The Twin-headed Leviathan stiffened as it felt the moisture in contact with its scales felt awfully different from usual, especially in the weather like this.
It felt... More static.
Could it be because of the storm?
It hadn’t yet felt any lightning strikes around it just yet, so it couldn’t be that...
"PUAH... Haa... Haa..."
Captain Righthook dropped towards the surface of the ocean, breathing raggedly in relief as the seemingly never-ending beam of plasma finally ended.
His arms dropped to his side as his eyes wavered slightly, overwhelmed by the feeling of fatigue. He now only had around 25% of his mana left.
Captain Righthook managed to catch himself before hitting the water and flapped his wings, which managed to shoot him back up into the air.
He looked around his surroundings and found that it was covered in a dense mist, due to the heat of the Leviathan’s Wrath.
After repairing his cutlass with his element, he slashed through the mist and opened up a path for his eyes to find the Leviathan looking straight up.
Confusion flashed through his eyes, but then he noticed that the sky had become strangely bright.
Looking upwards, his face immediately hardened as his eyes widened, for what he saw could only be described as a humongous fishing net of interconnecting streaks of electricity—that only seemed to grow larger and larger...
The Leviathan was also in a state of disbelief. It had never seen the weather do something like this before... Was this world that much different compared to its place of origin?
That brief moment of thought was the only thing it was able to commit.
Mainly because—
Bzzt.
—It wasn’t in any position where it could move to dodge.
BOOM!
The thunderous net made of pure electricity crashed into its body with the force of more than a dozen lightning strikes. And because of that, a massive curtain of water blasted out from the surface of the water.
The electricity net wrapped over the Leviathan like it was a massive catch before arcing around the water and the salt contents within it.
And due to that, the Leviathan was now momentarily trapped in a cage of bouncing electricity, causing it to spasm uncontrollably—opening and closing its mouth repeatedly—and even making it so that its scales flashed with mana like faulty festive lights.
In any scenario where it was in peak condition, such an attack wouldn’t have such an effect on it—only a dark char on its scales.
However, due to its exposed and open wounds, the electricity managed to enter its system.
Bzzt...!
Once the curtain of water fell, it revealed a layer of boiling water vapours that clung to the outside of the Leviathan’s body, which continued to carry traces of electricity along the ridges of its thick scales.
Its eyes, which were closed during the moment of it being shocked, shot open as both heads roared up into the sky.
The rain in the air trembled once it came in contact with the wrathful soundwaves of the Leviathan’s roar. They then stood in place, hanging in the air, like a fixed star.
The floating raindrops then spun at an extreme rate before pointing upwards and sharpening themselves to a lethal degree.
The Leviathan narrowed its eyes into slits as it pierced through the thick rain and settled its enraged gaze on Lillian’s falling figure.
Then, with one last roar, it sent the bullet-shaped raindrops towards Lillian, who immediately sensed their speeding presence.
Lillian’s eyes strained, and her pupils constricted as everything in the world besides the Leviathan’s charred and floating figure in the sea became blurred.
Her [Focus Stab]’s tunnel vision.
She gritted her teeth. She needs this attack to land... She can’t focus on defence!
With complete disregard of any defences, Lillian’s body began to fade in and out of existence the moment the bullet-shaped raindrops made it to her.
Every split-second she teleported and appeared, she would vanish once again, dodging the bullets that would’ve littered her with holes.
As her mana drained rapidly with her constant teleportations, she managed to make it through the hailstorm of bullets with only a few shallow wounds on her body and chestplate.
The Twin-headed Seawater Leviathan, watching as its attack was ineffective, raised its right head and opened its mouth as the scales of its right neck began to glow a radiant blue.
The moisture in the air began to vaporise at the heat being emitted from the insides of the Leviathan’s throat once again, reaching Lillian, who still remained calm.
Because...
’Fear brings weakness!’
Right before the Seawater Leviathan could release its plasma beam, Lillian went through another rapid sequence of teleportation—eventually reaching the open mouth of the gigantic sea beast.
The Leviathan watched as Lillian appeared right before its mouth, its eyes smiled with a malicious light as it then released its premature plasma beam.
And as it watched Lillian’s body become swallowed in its beam, it gave a toothy grin before turning its attention towards Captain Righthook.
But.
The moment it did just that...
SWIP!
It watched as a dark human with white hair and an ominous mask that constantly changed shape, appear right before its eye.
And right before anything happened... It was able to make out one sentence despite the clouds roaring above them...
"[2nd Technique of the Deep Sea Hunter: Harpoon Thrust]..."
And a split second right after hearing that, the world became dark. Lillian had entered and pierced through the entire eye.
Before it could even make a sound, Lillian had already broken through and breached the inside of its skull. Her body, which was now encased inside an illusory harpoon, shot through its brain and created a massive puncture hole in it.
And as quickly as she had entered, Lillian left through the other side of its head.
The Twin-headed Seawater Leviathan had now lost one of its heads.
As Lillian flew out—covered in brain matter, blood, and shards of Leviathan’s skull—the world slowed and the clouds roared thunderously.
It was as if the abnormal storm was cheering Lillian for her achievement. Almost as though they knew that...
With the death of one of the Leviathan’s heads, the slim chance they had at the beginning of winning this encounter with the sea beast...
...
Had now been dramatically increased by more than...
