Chapter 182 Unnecessary Protection

"It's all gone..."

The boss said, his face full of heartache.

Even if he had more, he couldn't bring himself to show it. Were these two here to restock his entire inventory?

"Never mind, Yutong."

Su Fan saw that the boss wasn't playing any tricks to stop them this time, and he didn't want to push it too far. A little lesson for the boss would suffice.

"Brothers and sisters, if you want a plush toy, come and get them!"

Su Fan generously gave the plush toys he had won to the audience present. After all, they couldn't take them away.

"Holy crap! This guy is generous!"

The people around them flocked to Su Fan to grab a plush toy and leave.

The boss watched from the side, his heart aching as his merchandise was taken away. He dared not say anything.

He realized that it wasn't worth jeopardizing his business for the next few days over these few items. Though it pained him, there was nothing he could do.

After distributing the plush toys, Su Fan had Su Yutong toss the rings she held into the box at their feet, and with the plush toy he had initially won, they left.

The boss was stunned.

"You don't want your winnings?"

The boss asked Su Fan and Su Yutong.

Su Fan waved his hand without looking back.

"They're yours."

With so many items, how could they possibly take them all? They couldn't exactly send a truck to haul them away.

Su Fan decided to give them back to the boss. The boss wasn't doing too well, and those plush toys were enough to put him at a loss.

The boss's eyes welled up with tears.

He had treated them so poorly just now, yet they were so kind as to leave everything behind. They were truly good people who repaid kindness with virtue!

A regular passerby followed the two shortly after they left, walking in their direction.

Su Fan and Su Yutong continued to stroll through the streets for a while longer.

"Shall we head back?"

Su Fan was the first to break the warm, lingering moment between them.

"Okay."

Su Yutong said with a hint of reluctance.

Su Fan escorted Su Yutong home.

"Where are you going?"

Su Yutong asked, frowning as she saw Su Fan had no intention of going home.

"I have something to do. Stay put at home, don't wander off."

Su Fan said with a smile.

Su Yutong pouted. She knew Su Fan was busy, but she didn't know what he was busy with. However, out of trust, she never asked when Su Fan didn't volunteer the information.

"Got it. Be careful."

Thinking of Su Fan's identity, Su Yutong guessed that what Su Fan was about to do might involve danger, and she cautioned him.

Su Fan nodded.

After Su Yutong returned home, Su Fan felt at ease. He then drove to the outskirts with a cold expression.

Behind Su Fan, a plain, even somewhat dilapidated van followed him.

Su Fan had noticed someone tracking them since the gathering. Fearing for Su Yutong's safety, he hadn't made a move.

The other party also seemed to have no intention of acting. After Su Fan dropped Su Yutong off, and as he drove towards a more remote area, the people behind him realized they had been discovered. However, they still didn't make a move, merely continuing to follow Su Fan.

"Come out. Who are you? Why are you following me?"

Su Fan got out of his car and spoke to the van that had also stopped.

When the other party emerged from the van, it turned out to be an old acquaintance of Su Fan's.

"It's you? Why are you following me?"

The people who got out of the van were Tang Xin and others whom Su Fan had dealt with before, members of the Super Management Bureau.

"Apologies, we were following you for your safety. We mean no harm."

Tang Xin said apologetically to Su Fan.

"What do you mean?"

Su Fan asked, confused.

If it were anyone else, Su Fan would never have given them a chance to explain, but the Super Management Bureau couldn't be easily killed without causing trouble.

"You've attracted the attention of an international organization. We're here to protect your safety. The current Martial Alliance involves too many martial artists and factions; you cannot afford to be in danger."

Tang Xin explained.

Su Fan was taken aback.

"Is it the Assassin's Alliance and the Witch Alliance?"

Su Fan guessed and asked.

"How did you know?"

Tang Xin was slightly surprised, clearly not expecting Su Fan to already know.

Su Fan couldn't help but chuckle.

Well, well, you've arrived just in time. They were already at my doorstep, and you show up now. If I weren't strong enough, you'd probably be here to collect my corpse.

"You don't need to worry about it. They've already been here, and I've dealt with them."

Su Fan explained.

Tang Xin was slightly taken aback.

"Are you sure? We received intel that the Assassin's Alliance sent one of their top ten, Jack the Ripper Walker, this time. His strength is terrifying. Perhaps you only dealt with a minor assassin from their ranks. We must ensure your safety."

Tang Xin believed that Su Fan had only dealt with a minor assassin from the Assassin's Alliance, and the real Jack the Ripper Walker wouldn't have been so easily dealt with by Su Fan.

"I'm sure. If you really want to help, go to the Martial Alliance and take on more missions."

Su Fan was too lazy to explain further.

A group of martial artists at the Yaoguang realm trying to protect me? Who gave them the courage?

"Don't be rash. This could cost you your life!"

Tang Xin frowned. She felt Su Fan was being overly confident.

"I'm saying, what can a bunch of you at the Yaoguang realm, or even below it, do to protect me? Use your heads?"

Su Fan couldn't help but mock.

Su Fan wasn't intentionally trying to put them down; he just didn't want them following him.

"Are you being too arrogant? We came with good intentions to protect you, and this is how you speak to us?"

Tang Xin couldn't help but say angrily to Su Fan.

She had already been annoyed with Su Fan. When the director assigned her this mission, she had wanted to refuse. Now, Su Fan was speaking to them like this; it was unbearable!

"How am I speaking? I told you not to follow me, and you didn't listen. Do you think what I said was too harsh? Then don't follow! As long as you keep following, I'll say even harsher things."

Su Fan spoke unceremoniously, then turned back to his car and executed a U-turn, heading back the way he came.

Tang Xin's chest heaved with anger.

"You bastard!"

Tang Xin couldn't help but curse at Su Fan.

Su Fan rolled down his car window and extended a hand, giving Tang Xin the international gesture of goodwill.

"Captain, perhaps we should just report back. He doesn't welcome us."

Tang Xin's team member said to her.

Su Fan's words were so harsh; anyone with a temper wouldn't want to continue protecting him.

"No! This is our mission. Are you going to violate orders from above just because the target spoke harshly?"

Tang Xin immediately rejected her team member's request. The mission must be completed; it was the responsibility of a member of the Super Management Bureau.

The team member sheepishly retracted his head. They dared not defy Tang Xin's words.

"Get in the car! Chase!"

Tang Xin said nothing more, ordering them to continue following Su Fan.

Seeing them following behind again, Su Fan immediately stepped on the accelerator.

The monster truck roared like a beast and sped off. He drove the SUV with the speed of a sports car.

"Captain, we can't keep up."

The driver said bitterly to Tang Xin.

How could they possibly keep up with his luxury car in this broken-down van?
