Barvro's words alerts the students.
"I have seen him before. He was working in the newsstand on the corner of the adjacent street". Reveals N'Ïrk, as Troy nods, his knuckles cracking as he closes his fists, portraying his readiness to fight, murmuring with wariness. "Check the guy sitting at the bar".
"Or the big bulky dude going out of the bathroom". Warns Barvro, finishing his beer and leaving a loud belch. "All of them are observing Oddette as if she was their next meal, and i am not saying it in the fun way".
{Can they see the Yellow Glint Around Oddette's silhouette?. Is the only reason i can think of for this unnatural attention. As her physical attributes are not precisely rare or exotic, even her clothing is a perfect disguise to match the local trend}
The entrance opens, and two men cross the door, sitting between the bar and the cantina's exit. The five have the same unsettling interest in Oddette, gazing her with extreme obviousness.
"There are three more on the upper floor, and four entering through the kitchen's store room". Murmurs Barvro, grabbing another jar, his confidence, wavering.
"How do you know?". Asks Troy, he can hear some commotion in the kitchen, but can't pinpoint the exact trouble.
"It's a weird quirk i have since i can recall. I can see a green glow around some people, this light serves like a sonar for my eyes. It doesn't matter where they are. I can observe their surroundings. But this glow is getting brighter with more of them around in the same area".
{This is not good}
"We are surrounded. Do you can distinguish between whom are the owners of the Green Glints?".
Questions N'Ïrk, but Barvro shakes his head with a dim tremor. Is evident that is the first time he sees so many glows, mixing their Glints and making impossible for him to tell who has a green Halo, and who doesn't.
"No. Three is the most i had observed at the same time. Right now i am basically blind".
{There are more outside}
"What are they?". Whispers Oddette, her preoccupation increasing as another three man can be seen from the window.
"No idea «Blondie». But they always go crazy if you know about them, so this won't end unless they eliminate us, or we eliminate them".
Barvro unbuttons his wine shirt, moving one side of the fabric to show his scaly chest, where a magenta scar that has a slight opaque shine is tetric to look at.
The wound surprise Oddette, visibly shaking with fear. "I'm not very good at fighting".
"You don't have to fight, Blondie".
"The Playboy is right". Comments Troy to assure the damsel. "Just don't die. You can do that".
Oddette is not convinced, her hesitation is ever present, but the memories of her past ignite her combat spirit. "I can try, but we're in a three-on-one situation, not to mention the people out there, and me basically being a liability".
"At least you are aware of your predicament".
N'Ïrk's words win him an upset stare from Oddette, who has an idea. "Let's call for the law enforcers".
"Under what pretense?". Points Troy.
"Jealous Ex-Boyfriend Breaking a Restraining Order". Suggest Barvro, who has gone through this type of events almost on daily basis.
However. Troy dismisses the idea. "The Officers are going to review the veracity of our statement, and that will take away all our possibilities to depart unnoticed… , What are they waiting for?".
"Perhaps more reinforcements". Barvro says, not sure of his claim, as the Green Glint is too intense to locate precisely the individuals originating the shine.
{Or a bigger prey}
"What do we do N'Ïrk?. You are basically on «Zeros», and we can't afford to spend all our Emens here. The same applies to our Emenelds. Especially with how slow is the production of Empiric Energy".
{Troy is not wrong. But we don't have options to…}
The burly man who came out of the bathroom cracks his neck and advances with obvious hostility. He pushes the waitress who is in his way, a few incredulous gasps echoes across the cantina, including the bartender, who immediately reaches for the telephone on the counter.
His timely action is contested with a purple-edged ethereal blade cutting off his hand along the telephone.
His pained scream serve like an alarm for the Hostiles who are in the kitchen, coming out from behind the counter with the same type of daggers that are wielded by the individuals near the main door.
"Distract the big guy while we go to the second floor".
Says Troy lightly. Barvro agrees with a smuggling smirk, drinking the beer, and throwing the jar at the muscular man's face.
The wood of the mug shatters apart into splinters, while Barvro jumps over the table, grabbing and throwing his chair, using it as a new distraction.
The muscular man slams his hand on the flying chair, breaking it, but leaving his body unprotected for Barvro's instantaneous offensive, who smashes his knee into the man's face, breaking the nose and knocking out several of the man's teeth.
Still, the muscular man smiles sadistically, licking with his tongue the neon lemon blood, trying to grab Barvro in a tight hug, to crush him to death.
Nevertheless, the young man has a quick mind, fast motion, high flexibility and unpredictable twists that makes him more slippery, deceiving dumb people with his illusory movement, escaping from the strong grip, while using the muscular man as a springboard to reach the upper floor's railing.
Meanwhile, Troy channels his Passive Empiric Energy in his right hand, focusing it on his Emeneld to make an extended ripple that is deformed into a short translucent golden blade.
Dashing forward, Troy swiftly pierces the throat of the muscular man. What causes a surprise that turns into a savage smirk on the silver eyed young man.
"They lack «Emenelds»!". Informs Troy with renewed vigour, dimly zigzagging his hand, beheading the muscular man, throwing away the man's body with a spinning kick, stepping into the stairs to face the Hostiles in the upper floor…
