Chapter 209: Chapter 209: Invincible
"Boxed meals are quite good." Amelia Cooper naturally knew what Grace Wilson was planning, smoothly picking up her words.
"You should save your money to buy a house. Are you still renting a place now?"
"It’s not exactly renting; it’s my dad’s friend’s place. But leaving my parents there indefinitely, it might seem fine on the surface, but inside, my dad feels awful." Grace Wilson bit her lip, a resilient strength in her eyes, "I need to work hard and earn money, even if it’s just for a down payment."
"Or... rent a place with a better environment, at least so my dad doesn’t feel so bad."
With that, Grace Wilson sniffed, forcing back the tears welling in her eyes.
This strong yet downtrodden Cinderella image vividly appeared in front of everyone.
Sophie Wilson played the role of the malicious sister bullying Cinderella.
Amelia Cooper glared at Sophie Wilson with hatred. If looks could kill, Sophie would be dead on the spot.
Julian Campbell frowned, nearly dropping his chopsticks.
Darn it, how dare she look at his aunt like that, did she think he was dead?
"Eat well." Sophie Wilson served Julian Campbell a dish, "This is meticulously prepared by the chef, you can’t waste their hard work."
Julian Campbell looked at Sophie Wilson in shock. How could she not be angry at this?
That Grace Wilson is clearly tarnishing her reputation.
"Aunt, aren’t you angry?" Julian Campbell impatiently asked.
"Not angry at all." Sophie Wilson casually replied, "She can say whatever she wants. Will her words change anything about my good life?"
"Will her talking raise her living standards, or make the director scold her less?" Sophie Wilson raised her eyebrows with a brilliant smile, "Nothing changes, so why should I care?"
Julian Campbell was left speechless.
No wonder she’s his aunt. Such strong mental fortitude... invincible.
"Hey, Julian, the food’s nice enough." Edward Sherwood, the male lead of the group, strolled over with his boxed meal, smiling and teasing, "You’re not being generous, eating alone, huh?"
"It’s not mine." Julian Campbell had a decent impression of Edward Sherwood.
Edward Sherwood is currently a hot celebrity, yet he never acts like a big shot.
He’s a few years older than Julian Campbell, yet much more composed.
"This belongs to our Sophie." Julian Campbell grinned at Edward Sherwood, showing off almost irritatingly.
"Teacher Sherwood, want to try some dishes?" Sophie Wilson smiled and invited Edward Sherwood, pointing to several dishes nearby, "We haven’t touched them yet."
Looking at the tempting dishes, Edward Sherwood couldn’t refuse and nodded, "Then, I won’t be polite."
Edward Sherwood directly scooped some dishes into his meal box and took a bite, exclaiming, "Now I know why Julian hangs around you for meals every day."
"If you like, join us from now on." Sophie Wilson was quite generous, it’s just a few dishes, after all.
"Then I really won’t hold back." Edward Sherwood laughed as he agreed.
"Hey, you’re being too forward." Julian Campbell accused, glaring at Edward Sherwood, "You can’t just eat for free, there has to be some price."
"What price?" Edward Sherwood asked curiously.
"When acting, you have to look after our Sophie." Julian Campbell boldly requested.
"Does Sophie even need me to look after her?" Edward Sherwood couldn’t help but laugh, "She’s quite talented. If she sticks with it long enough..."
