Chapter 1823: Chapter 1825: Lazy Persimmons
"Mom, I can’t get down!" Lele climbed up on a whim and now, looking at the distance from the tree to the ground, he felt a bit dazed. He forgot he’s a bit afraid of heights.
"Hahaha, son, really?"
Lele’s face turned red and he said, "Mom, I really can’t get down."
"Haha!!!" Hearing this, Yangyang burst into laughter, suddenly remembering the time in Shandong, "Mom, big brother’s afraid of heights, when he climbed a ladder in Shandong he couldn’t get down."
"Then why did you go up?" Yang Chuxia was speechless.
"Watching my brother having fun, I forgot." Lele mumbled, he was watching his brother happily picking fruit. It was fine when he didn’t look down, but coming down the tree is different, you’ve got to look down, and when he saw the distance, it didn’t feel right.
"Oh, you." Ye Zi’an shook his head, quickly stepped forward, climbed up the tree, and extended a hand to him. "Dad will carry you down!"
"Hehe, real dad is the best!" Lele smiled, grabbing Ye Zi’an’s hand and hugging his neck.
Once father and son got down, Yang Chuxia said, "Don’t go climbing trees again later."
"Okay, I won’t go later." Lele nodded hastily upon hearing this.
Yueyue chimed in from behind, "Coward!"
Lele immediately turned his head, "Dad, see, she blames me, no fair."
Ye Zi’an covered his face, "Daughter, can’t you watch your mouth a little? You’ll miss out on brotherly love if you keep that up."
"Oh!" She nodded, pursed her lips, and stayed silent.
"Mom, what’s ahead?" Yangyang ignored the sibling banter and tugged on Yang Chuxia, asking.
"Mom remembers there are persimmon and chestnut trees ahead."
"Persimmons?" Yangyang nodded, "Persimmons are sweet and refreshing, way better than the hawthorn just now."
The persimmon tree wasn’t far from the hawthorn place, just a short walk away.
"Wow, why are there so many on this tree?" Yangyang’s eyes lit up, "I’m going up to pick some."
As he spoke, he quickly climbed up the tree, leaving Lele envious of his swift movements. Only now did he realize the benefits of practicing martial arts.
"Huh, Mom, why are these persimmons so hard?" Yangyang picked one, inspected it on both sides, looking very different from what he usually eats.
"The ones you usually eat are ripe, these persimmons need to be picked and put together with apples and pears for a while."
"Why do they need to be put together with apples?" Lele asked curiously.
"Because apples and pears can hasten ripening, making persimmons soften faster. Without them, persimmons soften slower," Yang Chuxia explained.
"Really?" Yangyang asked, "Mom, are we still picking persimmons? Maybe we shouldn’t, since they can’t be eaten immediately, it’ll be agonizing to wait."
For a food lover, bringing home persimmons but not being able to eat them is worse than not picking them at all.
"Pick some, Mom will have someone make lazy persimmons for you." Yang Chuxia suggested, pointing above his head, "See those green persimmons? Pick those, making lazy persimmons from them, they’re sweet and crunchy."
"Lazy persimmons?" Yangyang picked one and tossed it down, then asked, "Why such a strange name? Are there lazy and diligent persimmons? Isn’t that a distinction for people?"
With his question, the others all looked at Yang Chuxia.
Yang Chuxia just laughed, "Don’t ask me, I don’t know why either, just heard seniors call them lazy persimmons."
