Chapter 1822: Chapter 1824: What the Heck Is This?
"Mom, this red thing looks so familiar, doesn’t it?" Yangyang looked at one of the trees and didn’t even wait for Yang Chuxia to respond before he darted up into the tree.
Then he quickly picked a fruit, rubbed it on his sleeve, and tossed it into his mouth. His face immediately scrunched up.
"Hey, this kid moves fast." Ye Zi’an shook his head.
"Ah, ptooey, ptooey..." Yangyang on the tree kept spitting it out, "Mom, what is this thing, it’s so sour."
"It’s hawthorn. The sugar-coated haws sold outside are made from this, have you forgotten?"
"Sugar-coated haws?" Yangyang looked up at the tree again and asked, "Why is it different? Sugar-coated haws are sweet and sour; this is too hard to eat."
As he spoke, he picked a few more and threw them down, and the little servant following him caught them with a basket.
"The sugar-coated haws you buy outside are covered in sugar and sesame, so of course they’re different." Yang Chuxia continued, "Since you’re already up the tree, help pick some more. When we go back in the evening, I’ll make sugar-coated haws for you all."
"Yay, that’s good!" Yangyang was delighted.
"Be careful." Ye Zi’an watched him like a little monkey and reminded.
"Don’t worry, Dad. My master taught me lightness skills, this distance is no problem for me."
"I want to go up too." Lele found it quite interesting from below.
"Then climb up, just step on the branches." Yangyang kept picking and throwing them down.
"I’ll try!"
Lele knew he wasn’t as nimble as his younger brother, so he found a tree with more branches to climb.
Some of the branches were low enough for Yang Chuxia to easily reach. Yueyue thought it was fun and had Ye Zi’an hold him to pick.
Chengcheng and Qingqing watched enviously.
"That’s enough, stop being envious." Yang Chuxia first picked up Chengcheng, "Auntie will hold you to pick!"
Ming Lan also picked up Qingqing and said, "Young Master, should I hold you?"
Upon hearing this, Yueyue quickly turned his head and said, "Dad, hold my brother, hold my brother!"
Ye Zi’an had no choice but to put down Yueyue and pick up Qingqing to pick.
"Miss, do you want me to hold you?" Ming Lan asked again.
"No, I’ll pick." The little girl bypassed Ming Lan and shouted at Yangyang on the tree, "Second brother, I’m picking too."
"Then wait, I’ll throw them in front of you." Yangyang waved at her.
"Sister, over here!" Lele was also up the tree and shouted at her.
So the little girl happily dragged a basket and began picking up.
Seeing this, Yang Chuxia said to Ye Zi’an, "See? I told you not to worry. Although they can be sharp-tongued, they really care about one another. We don’t need to overthink it; our children understand each other well."
"You’re right, it’s me who’s overthinking." Ye Zi’an nodded in agreement.
He was just worried the two sons seemed to dislike their daughter and feared if left unchecked, it would affect their relationship.
"You scholars, always have so many twists and turns in your minds." Yang Chuxia said disdainfully.
"I want to go down and pick too."
Chengcheng thought Yueyue was having fun picking and tilted his head to tell Yang Chuxia.
"Alright, you go pick too."
Kids, they follow each other. Seeing him go down, Qingqing went down too.
Ye Zi’an watched the two sons in the tree with a smile and yelled, "Be careful, hold onto the tree tightly."
After a little while, Yang Chuxia waved, "You can come down now, let’s move forward."
