Hearing this, the band-aid Shen Xi had just taken out fell to the floor with a "snap."
Was this man too greedy, too self-righteous? She hadn't even agreed to let him pursue her yet, and he was already planning to make her his wife.
However, in this situation and at this occasion, Shen Xi found it inconvenient to argue with him.
After all, it was just his own thought; as long as she didn't agree, she didn't believe he could force her into marriage.
As if she hadn't heard him, Shen Xi took out another band-aid, her eyelids not lifting, and carefully applied it to his hand.
However, her silence was interpreted as consent by Qin Si Ye, and the smile on his face became even more charming.
A few minutes later, Teacher Li blew his whistle again, calling everyone over and explaining the rules of the second game.
"The second game mainly tests the family's coordination and tacit understanding. Each basket contains five balloons. The children are responsible for inflating the balloons, and the parents are responsible for transporting them to the other side. Whichever family finishes first wins.
However, the parents must transport them back-to-back, and balloons that pop midway do not count."
After Teacher Li briefly explained the rules, he looked at Shen Xi and asked, "Zi Chen's mother, this game isn't very intense. Can you participate?"
As Shen Xi hesitated, Qin Si Ye quickly raised his hand and answered for her, "Yes."
Qin Si Ye couldn't have wished for a better game – one that wasn't too intense and allowed him to interact with her. How could he possibly miss it?
Even if any sudden incidents occurred on the field, he could still protect her well.
"Alright. Please line up by family and proceed in order. Each group will consist of five families, and the game will be timed. The family that successfully completes the task with the shortest time will win first place."
The competition began quickly. The children stood at one end, carefully placing the balloons between their parents' backs. The parents then moved together, rapidly transporting the balls to the basket on the opposite side.
Many people either dropped the balls or they popped, creating chaos on the scene, yet it was filled with laughter and joy.
None of the first few families managed to complete the task perfectly; the best result was transporting three balloons.
Shen Xi's family was in the fourth group. Upon hearing Teacher Li call their names, the three children quickly ran onto the field.
Thinking about playing such an intimate game with Qin Si Ye in front of so many people, Shen Xi's steps faltered slightly.
But considering it was back-to-back and there was a balloon in between them, her heart relaxed a little.
The two walked to the front of the children, stood back-to-back, and Chen Chen and Shuo Shuo immediately placed a large balloon between their bodies.
Before other families were ready, Qin Si Ye turned his head and said, "Give me your hand."
"What?" Shen Xi didn't quite understand.
"To cooperate well and transport the ball to the destination perfectly, our movements must be consistent. Holding hands not only helps to secure the ball's position but also allows us to sense each other's actions," Qin Si Ye whispered.
Shen Xi thought about it; what he said made sense. The reason most of the parents had failed earlier was their inconsistent movements.
"Hurry up. The game is about to start," Qin Si Ye beckoned with his hands behind her.
"Oh." Shen Xi hesitated for a moment before placing her hands in his large ones.
For the sake of the children today, she had gone all out.
At this moment, the man behind her spoke again, "When we walk, our steps must be in sync. I'll call out 'one, two, one,' and you just need to follow my rhythm."
Hearing this, a trace of admiration instantly arose in Shen Xi's heart; this man was indeed very smart.
She realized that by observing the dynamics on the field silently from the sidelines, he had been summarizing the reasons for others' failures and finding a way to complete the task.
"Okay," Shen Xi's hands were held tightly by him, her body trembling slightly, but her heart was calm, inexplicably feeling a sense of certainty to win.
With a whistle, the competition officially began.
Qin Si Ye and Shen Xi followed the method they had agreed upon and were indeed the first to accurately transport the balloon to the basket on the opposite side.
As they returned, Qin Si Ye pulled her hand, preparing to run forward, but suddenly remembered that she could not engage in strenuous exercise.
He bent down, suddenly scooped her up in his arms, and ran towards the children.
