Qin Si Ye gave a wry smile, cursing himself internally for being so foolish. Why tamper with the water pipe when it was perfectly fine?
It was practically an admission of guilt.
"You didn't allow me to sleep here last night, and I was already asleep then. I intended to move out tonight. I discovered this when I came back at noon and was packing my things here."
Qin Si Ye's mind raced, his explanation sounding reasonably logical.
Shen Xi glared at him slightly, her voice stern. "You must move out tonight." She then took out her phone to call property management and started to walk downstairs.
A few minutes later, a plumber followed her in.
Qin Si Ye stood by the wardrobe, a suitcase in front of him, seemingly organizing his clothes. Seeing the plumber follow Shen Xi into the bathroom, he quickly put down what he was holding and followed them.
"Sir, this water pipe was perfectly fine. How did it suddenly break?" Shen Xi looked at the plumber at work with some confusion.
The plumber picked it up and examined it closely. "This water pipe is of very good quality. It might have been caused by excessive force during use. Don't worry, I'll replace it with a new one shortly, and that will solve the leaking problem."
"Okay. Thank you," Shen Xi said, then turned back, her gaze sharply fixing on Qin Si Ye. It was as if she was saying: Couldn't you be gentler? Why are your actions so forceful in everything you do? If you continue like this, I won't let you stay here anymore.
Qin Si Ye shrugged with a faint smile, silently replying: I wasn't that forceful. This is purely coincidental. Don't wrongly accuse an innocent person.
Twenty minutes later, a new water pipe had been replaced, and the leaking issue was thoroughly resolved. Shen Xi personally saw the plumber downstairs. When she returned to the room, she found Qin Si Ye still packing his clothes. Frowning, she walked over. "How many things do you have to pack? Why haven't you finished? I remember you came with nothing. You didn't go on a spree swiping my card, did you?"
The corners of Qin Si Ye's lips curled up, and he pulled her into his arms. "Didn't I tell you I'd pay you back double? What are you still worried about?"
"I'm afraid you'll waste too much. You're only staying a few days here, why buy so many things?" Shen Xi, recalling the kiss from that morning, pushed him away flusteredly, her heart trembling.
Qin Si Ye gently lifted her chin, gazing into her beautiful, fair face with affection. "You haven't even married me yet, and you're already trying to control me?"
"Who wants to marry you? I certainly don't." Shen Xi lowered her head, avoiding his intense gaze, and quickly took a step back.
The man in front of her thought she was about to leave, so he reached out and pulled her back forcefully. However, he lost his footing and balance, and both of them tumbled towards the bed beside them.
Qin Si Ye fell first, and Shen Xi landed heavily on top of him, their lips colliding precisely. Shen Xi's face turned pale with shock. She propped herself up with her arms, her legs kicking in the air a few times, but she couldn't get up. Only then did she realize that she couldn't get up because the man's large hands were around her waist, preventing her from moving.
Immediately, the man began to kiss and caress her lips wantonly, lingering tenderly. He only reluctantly let go when Shen Xi let out a muffled "enji" sound from her mouth.
Upon regaining her freedom, Shen Xi immediately pushed herself up, intending to stand, but in the next instant, she was pulled back into the man's embrace, his other hand encircling her from behind.
"Xi Xi, don't go. Let me hold you for a while. I promise I won't move around."
"Qin Si Ye, don't you think you've gone too far? Let go of me quickly." Shen Xi's voice was a stern warning.
The man behind her acted as if he hadn't heard her, pulling her even closer. He whispered in her ear, "Xi Xi, every time I watch you get into Song Kai Cheng's car, do you know how much pain my heart feels? You spend time with him openly every day, yet I can barely see you or hear your voice. It's rare for you to come here today. Please, just let me hold you for a little while, okay?"
Hearing this, Shen Xi's heart trembled. Recalling his actions throughout the day, her voice choked with emotion. "You... you just know how to bully me."
A handsome curve appeared on Qin Si Ye's lips, and he couldn't help but chuckle. "How can that be called bullying? That is need, an expression of love."
