Chapter 179: Chapter 179: Ivy’s Power
"Oh... looks like only our instructor has immunity against thunder." Franklin shook his head in regret. His eyes filled with disdain as he looked at Arthur, who seemed to be performing some broken mechanical movements.
Others: (; ꒪ö꒪)
Brother, why are you showing such a regretful expression? And what’s that disdain in your eyes?
From that moment onward, no one from the military ever dared to say a single word against Instructor Ivy. Her capabilities might have attracted the attention of many, but none dared to confess.
Why? There was a watchdog in the military named Franklin who took revenge in case you confessed or spread rumors about instructor Ivy.
"Wow! The instructor has defeated the captain within 5 minutes!" Someone shouted, drawing the attention of those who were looking at Franklin with a complex emotion.
"Did you see her using a superpower? What type of superpower did she have?"
"Don’t know. But it’s definitely not an element; otherwise, she might have used it."
"Is it super speed? I saw how fast her move was!"
"No... I don’t think so."
"It’s super strength! I bet 20 zombie crystals!"
"No, it’s super speed!"
An argument started, and when Lucas, bruised and slightly battered, returned, the soldiers asked Ivy in unison,
"Instructor, what superpower do you have?"
Seeing their momentum, even Ivy was stunned before answering with a smile.
"Enhanced Intelligence."
"What?"
Silence. None of the soldiers dared to speak as they watched Ivy with a complex expression. Their instructor didn’t have any offensive type of superpower, nor any defensive power, yet she beat their captain.
Lucas was the strongest of them all... and yet...
"As expected of the woman I like." Franklin proudly muttered, his ears turning red as he watched the beautiful woman on the stage.
Others: (ー_ーゞ Oh, please.
From that, something shifted in the military; the soldiers trained with even more vigor, while the admiration they felt for their instructor, Ivy, increased by leaps and bounds.
Though Ivy’s visit to the training grounds of the military was reduced a lot later, they still held her in high regard and aimed to become someone like her.
Some of the soldiers who had a huge crush on her even gave her the name Military Goddess.
................
Back to the present.
As Lucas saw Ivy leaving for hunting, he motioned to the assistant captain to take the duty and walked up to Ivy.
"Instructor Ivy!" he called out, causing Ivy to halt in her steps.
A smile appeared on his face as he asked, "Are you leaving for your daily practice?"
"Hm." Ivy nodded, and although her eyes showed no impatience, Lucas felt as if he were disturbing her.
"Can I join you?" There was undisguised hope in his eyes, causing the words of rejection on Ivy’s lips to vanish.
"Only if you don’t drag me down," Ivy stated. She was tolerant, but even that was limited.
Only for the captain of her base’s army.
The thought made her feel refreshed even though the scorching heat from the sun fell straight on her.
Lucas smiled, making a vow, "Alright! I promise."
"Yes, I promise too!" Another voice chimed in, attracting Ivy and Lucas’s attention.
Franklin grinned, showing off his perfect set of white teeth, while his sun-kissed skin gleamed under the sunlight.
Due to his tall height and confident aura, even if his looks were only above average, he still looked pleasing and charming to some women in the base.
Ivy’s base’s population had shockingly reached 60. On paper, it may seem a small number, but for Ivy, whose base had only recently started to take in the citizens, it was still a huge number.
Her own base... something she never even dared to dream of, even in her previous life.
The population was rising, and so were Ivy’s worries. If she doesn’t upgrade her temporal storage and get a building plan soon, God knows how many single apartments she will have to build and how quickly the 20,000 square meters of space will be consumed.
Hence, Ivy was planning to expand her base.
"Instructor Ivy?" Franklin’s voice snapped Ivy out of her daze, and she realized her thoughts had slowly strayed.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, she coughed and explained, "I prefer..."
"I won’t be baggage to you! I promise." Franklin interrupted with a sincere look. He was only in his early twenties, maybe a year or so older than Ivy.
Yet using his charm and acting coquettishly, he tried to win Ivy over.
’Anyways, she doesn’t have a man around her; maybe she is one of those rare beautiful women who are single because she is way too out of league.’
Ivy paused; she sighed before nodding, "Alright then."
"Thank you, Instructor!" Lucas said with a huge smile.
"Thank you, Miss Ivy." Franklin chimed in
"Thank you, military goddess."
Hearing the third voice, Ivy stiffly turned her face and, sure enough, saw another face.
Ivy: (=_=) Wow.
In the end, Maxwell, Franklin, Lucas, Arthur, and a few other soldiers tagged along with Ivy.
As they left and started to fight, Elias and Jonas, who were lurking in the perimeter, were stunned.
"Wait... who are those people? And why are they with Cotton Candy?" Elias asked furiously, his eyes practically glued to one particular person with tanned skin.
Elias had secretly given Ivy a nickname: Cotton Candy. He knew Ivy was way too out of his league and hence sufficed by staying far away from her, but now, seeing unfamiliar men beside Ivy, he felt his heart being clawed at.
"Don’t know." Even Jonas was frowning.
As Ivy’s team bypassed them, they heard those men calling Ivy an instructor.
Instructor?
Ivy was the instructor of this base? That would explain why she was the only one clearing the land.
"I want to join this base and join their military." Elias suddenly announced. If by becoming a soldier he can stay closer to Ivy, then he is ready to do so!
Jonas didn’t say a single word; instead, he turned around and ran away. His actions spoke louder than words.
