Missing your smile

Chapter 73 The Man in Black

"Take me to her."

Qin Hui grabbed Zhang Min's hair tightly and roared.

"Okay."

Zhang Min nodded without hesitation.

Qin Hui was somewhat surprised by Zhang Min's quick agreement, but he couldn't afford to worry about it now; saving the person was paramount.

Soon, Qin Hui stuffed Zhang Min into a van and floored the accelerator towards their destination.

Half an hour later, Qin Hui arrived at an abandoned factory on the outskirts and pulled Zhang Min out.

"She's inside. If you let me go, you can save her," Zhang Min said, his face covered in blood.

"Let's go in."

Qin Hui didn't believe Zhang Min and dragged him into the abandoned factory.

The abandoned factory was covered in ivy, and the air carried the corrosive smell of rusted iron.

As Qin Hui entered the factory, he saw Chen Jiaxue tied to a chair, her mouth gagged tightly.

Chen Jiaxue was surprised and delighted to see Qin Hui, but all she could do was make muffled sounds.

Seeing this, Qin Hui regretted that he had implicated Sister Xue; otherwise, she could have lived a normal life.

Standing beside Sister Xue were two figures in black robes, emanating an aura that made Qin Hui wary.

Upon seeing the two black-robed figures, Zhang Min's heart stirred. He had paid a hefty sum to hire them, and they had not disappointed him.

"Release her."

One of the black-robed figures spoke in a hoarse voice.

"You release her first."

Qin Hui tightened his grip on Zhang Min's neck, naturally not believing their trickery.

"You are not in a position to negotiate with us," the black-robed figure said with a cold laugh.

"Are you sure?"

"Then it's one life for another. If Zhang Min dies, you won't get what you want."

Qin Hui said calmly, his mind already planning his next move.

"We release them simultaneously."

The black-robed figures eventually compromised. For them, the outcome was the same, and there was no need to argue.

Soon, the black-robed figures untied Chen Jiaxue, allowing her to stand up.

Qin Hui also released Zhang Min's neck, letting him slowly walk over.

As the two hostages crossed paths, Qin Hui lunged forward and pulled Sister Xue into his embrace.

"Qin Hui, you... you shouldn't have come to save me."

Tears of emotion welled up in Chen Jiaxue's eyes, but she knew it was too late to say anything.

"Sister Xue, what are you saying? If I don't save you, who will?"

Qin Hui knew this was not the time for pleasantries and quickly shielded Sister Xue behind him.

"Sister Xue, hurry and leave. I'll handle this."

Qin Hui instructed.

Chen Jiaxue hesitated for a moment before nodding. She knew she would be useless here, unable to help Qin Hui and only becoming a burden.

Chen Jiaxue's departure did not alert the two black-robed figures. In their eyes, it was an inconsequential outcome.

"Hahahaha, Qin Hui, you're finished this time. No matter how powerful you are, you're no match for these two warriors."

Zhang Min laughed maniacally. He knew the immense cost of hiring these warriors.

But as long as the outcome was satisfactory, it was worth it.

Qin Hui frowned slightly. He was aware of warriors but knew that they typically remained hidden from the secular world. Their presence in the secular world would attract scrutiny from certain powers, which was why warriors were rarely seen. However, not all warriors adhered to the rules.

After all, Qin Hui was also a warrior, albeit a triple-level one.

Warriors were divided into nine levels, with levels above nine being exceptionally rare.

This was the reason Qin Hui had come to Jiangnan Province: firstly, for revenge, and secondly, to break through his own strength. He had been stuck at the triple-level for some time.

He was somewhat surprised to encounter warriors again today.

"Boy, kneel on the ground and cripple your own limbs. We might spare your life."

One of the black-robed figures said coldly.

As a warrior, he viewed mortals as ants. If Zhang Min had not offered such a generous sum, he would not have bothered dealing with a mortal.

Qin Hui stood his ground, unfazed, and sneered, "Zhang Min, I'm very curious about the power behind you that allows you to mobilize warriors."

His words stunned Zhang Min and the other two. Warriors were beyond mortal comprehension, so how did Qin Hui know about them?

"Boy, who exactly are you? How do you know so much?"

The black-robed figure asked, surprised.

"Sir, stop wasting your breath with him. We can interrogate him slowly after we disable him," Zhang Min said, a hint of fear in his voice. Qin Hui's knowledge exceeded his expectations, increasing his dread.

"Attack!"

As soon as the black-robed figure spoke, he charged towards Qin Hui.

The other black-robed figure also moved in response.

Seeing them charge at him, Qin Hui's gaze sharpened considerably.

Fighting warriors was no simple matter, unlike fighting ordinary people.

Boom! Boom!

Qin Hui unleashed two powerful punches, engaging the two black-robed figures in combat.

In mere seconds, the three exchanged several blows.

What shocked Zhang Min the most was that Qin Hui was not at a disadvantage.

"Could it be... could it be that he is also a warrior?"

Zhang Min muttered softly, a chill running down his spine at the thought.

"No, I have to escape."

Zhang Min's mind raced with the idea of fleeing. If the black-robed figures won, they would come for him. If Qin Hui won, he would be finished. Therefore, escape was Zhang Min's only option.

Having risen to his current position, Zhang Min possessed considerable foresight.

Bang!

With a whip-like kick, Qin Hui shattered the chest bone of one of the black-robed figures.

While the other black-robed figure was stunned, Qin Hui decisively delivered a punch, crushing the man's skull.

In just three minutes, Qin Hui had decisively ended the battle.

Both black-robed figures lay dead.

"Killing these two black-robed figures seems to have stirred up some trouble."

"Zhang Min's backing is indeed not simple."

Qin Hui stood there, stroking his chin.

"Never mind, let's deal with the bodies first."

Qin Hui was unconcerned about Zhang Min's escape; killing him was only a matter of time. He wouldn't be able to flee Jiangnan Province in such a short period.

As for the two corpses, they needed to be disposed of immediately to avoid further complications.

If they were ordinary people, it would be manageable. However, the death of two warriors here would undoubtedly cause upheaval among the authorities. The higher powers had forbidden the presence of warriors.

To resolve the issue, Qin Hui immediately set the place ablaze, ensuring no evidence remained.
