Chapter 887 The Man I Admire

Tianyi said with a laugh, "Who should be more worried about whom? You don't need to fret over me. Rather, it's you going over there. I'd like to have someone accompany you, and perhaps protect you along the way."

"Who?" Susu couldn't guess who Tianyi wanted to go with her.

Tianyi elegantly placed the bacon he had cut into his mouth and said, "Let Daisy, the coach from the boxing club, accompany you. You're both women, and it will be more convenient for her to protect you throughout the journey."

Susu felt that having Daisy accompany her was acceptable and nodded, saying, "Alright, I have no objections. I just wonder if Daisy is willing?"

"Don't worry, I'll personally ask her," Tianyi said with confidence.

Susu smiled and fed him a piece of bread, "Okay, I'll listen to you."

...

Susu spent two days arranging matters at her studio before setting off with Daisy to visit An Jing's mother.

She had no idea how Tianyi had persuaded Daisy, but as soon as she met Daisy at the airport, Daisy followed her like a vigilant bodyguard.

On the plane, even after Susu woke up from a nap, Daisy's eyes were still open, not daring to rest.

Susu found it too exaggerated and gently nudged Daisy's arm, saying, "If you're tired, you should rest for a while. It's okay, you don't need to be so tense."

"President Qin repeatedly instructed me to protect you twenty-four hours a day without leaving your side, and not to be careless in the slightest," Daisy said truthfully. "I have to be worthy of the compensation he's paying me. That's money I could only earn after ten years of work."

Susu had learned boxing from Daisy a few times and knew that Daisy wasn't someone who valued money excessively.

"You're willing to protect me, not just for the compensation, right?"

Daisy seemed more relaxed and smiled, saying, "Compensation is important, of course. And then there's my friendship with you. President Qin is a man I admire, and I'm willing to help you when he asks."

"Thank you." Susu saw that Daisy spoke openly and didn't mind that she admired Tianyi.

For a man as outstanding as Tianyi, it was normal for women outside to admire him. She believed Daisy wasn't someone who couldn't distinguish between feelings and admiration.

Daisy said, "You don't need to worry about me. I'm fulfilling my duty."

Susu preferred to treat her as a friend and said, "You should get some sleep. Nothing will happen on the plane. If you don't rest well, how can you protect me if something really happens?"

Daisy was about to say something more, but Susu found a flight attendant and asked for another blanket, covering Daisy and signaling her to sleep quickly.

She had no choice but to close her eyes and seize the opportunity to sleep.

As soon as they disembarked, An Jing was already waiting for them at the airport exit.

Susu hadn't seen An Jing for some time, and she was surprised at first glance.

Compared to when she last saw him in Lancheng, An Jing looked much more haggard, with stubble clearly visible on his chin.

He paid no attention to his personal appearance, and his clothes were somewhat wrinkled. Susu could tell that he had been overexerting himself for Xiaoxiao and Lan Yu, neglecting everything else.

Susu didn't know what to say, so she just greeted him with a smile and introduced Daisy to him.

He had already heard from Tianyi that Susu would be coming with Daisy, so he wasn't surprised. After exchanging a few pleasantries, he motioned for them to get into the car.

"I'll take you home to settle in first."

"Okay, is Lan Yu at home? How has she been these past two days?" Susu also wanted to see Lan Yu as soon as possible.

An Jing replied, "She's at home. Normally, you can't tell there's anything wrong with her. She just doesn't feel happy internally, and her emotions have been very low, yet she feels powerless."

Susu hummed. Before coming, she had consulted doctors about treatment methods. They said that communication, cultivating hobbies, and exercising outdoors could help alleviate and treat it.

They didn't speak further on the way. Susu didn't want to ask An Jing about searching for Xiaoxiao again.

Both these matters were difficult for An Jing. She could only help An Jing by resolving one issue first, which was to accompany Lan Yu.

Upon arriving at An Jing's mother's place, Susu found the environment to be truly excellent. It was surrounded by lush trees, and there weren't many residents.

The houses of each family were spaced apart, and the streets were very quiet. Occasionally, a passerby or vehicle would go by, and the cars moved at a very slow speed.

An Jing's mother lived in a two-story house with a lawn in front and a yard in the back, a typical foreign-style villa.

Seeing them arrive, An Jing's mother and Lan Yu, holding the baby, waited at the entrance to welcome them in.

Susu saw that Lan Yu had lost some weight since before giving birth. As soon as she saw her, she gave her a big hug.

Lan Yu hugged her back tightly and said, "I'm sorry to have made you travel so far. I told you I wasn't sick, but An Jing is still worried."

"It's alright, postpartum depression is very common," Susu comforted her. "When I gave birth to Tiantian and Hengheng, I almost fell into depression too. Fortunately, I had friends like you around."

An Jing's mother, holding the baby, said to them, "Come in quickly, don't stand outside. The rooms have been prepared for you."

They released each other. Susu took Lan Yu's hand and walked into the house. She looked at An Jing and Lan Yu's baby, who was already a month old, and gently touched the child's small face with her finger.

"Her nose and eyes are so beautiful, inheriting the best of both of you," Susu praised and took out a pair of pure gold bracelets from her bag, placing them on the baby's wrists.

An Jing's mother said apologetically, "You're too kind."

"This is a small token of our appreciation from Tianyi and me." As she spoke, she lifted one of the baby's hands and said to An Jing and Lan Yu, "Doesn't the child look beautiful wearing them?"

"Beautiful, very beautiful," Lan Yu said with a smile.

Susu then asked, "I still don't know the baby's name."

An Jing's mother smiled and said, "I asked a priest to give her the English name, Rose. An Jing and his wife chose the Chinese name Xiao Ningyu, or Little Yu for short."

Susu repeated both the Chinese and English names and said from the bottom of her heart that she liked the name, "Whether it's the Chinese name or the English name, they both sound lovely."

An Jing's mother pointed to the room door they had reached and said, "These are the rooms we've tidied up for you. Do you like them? If you need anything, just tell me, and I'll prepare it for you."

Susu and Daisy walked into the room. Although the room wasn't large, it was fully equipped.

"It's very nice, thank you, Auntie."

An Jing helped them put down their luggage and said to his mother and Lan Yu, "Let's go out first and let them rest."

An Jing's mother nodded and said, "Susu, you're Susu, right? Please rest for a while. I'll go and cook now, and I'll call you for dinner later."

Susu said "Okay" and smiled at An Jing's mother.

After they left, Susu and Daisy unpacked the daily necessities from their luggage.

Susu thought that Lan Yu's reaction just now didn't show any abnormalities, except that she smiled very little.

They talked so much, but Lan Yu only smiled once.

Although the environment here was good, it was unfamiliar to Lan Yu. After giving birth, she didn't have the chance to go out and about. Coupled with the disappearance of Xiaoxiao, even if she wasn't sick, she would become ill from being cooped up.
