Chapter 1117 Retreat or Advance

When she woke up, it was almost noon, and she realized she had slept for a long time.

She sat up and didn't see Tianyi in the room. Angrily, she patted the pillow Tianyi had slept on and muttered to herself, "Why didn't you wake me up?"

For some reason, even after sleeping for so long, she still felt very tired.

In fact, she hadn't been too busy in the studio lately and wasn't particularly tired, yet she always felt fatigued and often drowsy.

Just then, her newly turned-on phone rang, and she saw it was Tianyi calling.

After she answered, before she could speak, Tianyi's concerned voice asked, "Xiaomei said you've been sleeping, and you haven't eaten breakfast."

"Yes, I just woke up," Susu complained. "Why didn't you wake me when you got up this morning?"

"When I left, I saw you sleeping soundly, so I didn't want to disturb you. By the way, I told Xu Shishi that you're resting at home today and won't be going to the studio. If you're tired, just rest for a day."

"Okay," Susu said, then lay back down, hugged her pillow, and closed her eyes, intending to sleep more.

Tianyi heard the lingering sleepiness in her voice and said, "Don't sleep yet. Let Xiaomei bring some food to your room. Have something to eat before you sleep again."

Susu sleepily replied, "I have no appetite, and I'm not hungry anyway. You go ahead with your work and don't worry about me."

After saying that, she hung up, hugged her pillow, and quickly fell back into a deep sleep.

Tianyi still called Xiaomei, asking her to bring some food upstairs and to check on Susu to see what was wrong.

Xiaomei carried some food to the bedroom upstairs and found her sleeping soundly. She called out to her a few times, but Susu was unwilling to get up and eat.

Xiaomei had no choice but to report the situation to Tianyi.

"Then let her sleep. I'll be back early today, and we can talk about it when I get back," Tianyi said, his heart aching for her usual hard work.

Xiaomei suddenly thought of something and blurted out, "Young Master, could the Young Madam be pregnant? The TV says pregnant women are often sleepy."

This remark jolted Tianyi. He felt Susu was being careless, being a mother of three children and yet so oblivious to the changes in her own body.

"It's possible, but don't mention it to her yet. Let me handle it."

"Alright, Young Master. I'll go stew some nourishing soup for the Young Madam to replenish her strength." With that, Xiaomei happily ran to the kitchen.

Tianyi felt both happy and surprised. He had actually been tracking her cycle and avoiding her fertile periods. He hadn't expected heaven to bless them with another child.

However, he felt sorry for Susu, having to endure the pain of childbirth again. He had promised her he didn't want her to suffer that pain anymore.

But this was just a guess between him and Xiaomei. He would wait until he took her to the hospital for confirmation.

...

It was Guinan's first time visiting Tianyi's office, and he found it wasn't as luxurious as he had imagined.

The entire office gave off a simple and practical feel, with a cold metallic touch.

He had seen many bosses' or CEOs' offices decorated with extreme ostentation and luxury. It seemed Qin Tianyi was indeed different.

Seeing his secretary lead him in, Tianyi said, "Please have a seat."

"Mr. Qin, you specifically asked me to come. Is there a legal matter?"

Tianyi asked, "Have you accepted Zhan Jiayi's lawsuit?"

Guinan smiled somewhat worriedly and said, "Yes, I promised her."

"Then tell me your thoughts on the agreement she has and this lawsuit. What are the chances of winning?" Tianyi directly asked what he wanted to know.

Since he and Susu considered Guinan a friend, there was no need to be indirect or secretive.

Seeing that he didn't seem to be opposing it, Guinan said, "I believe there is a chance of winning. Moreover, once this appeal to terminate Xie Corporation's bankruptcy is initiated, it will surely cause a stir and give Huangfu Group a headache."

Tianyi smiled with a slight upward curve of his lips. "Very good. You must do your utmost to help Zhan Jiayi win this case. I will support you."

Guinan expressed slight surprise. "Thank you."

"Then can you tell me the specifics?" Tianyi was still very curious about what kind of document Zhan Jiayi held.

Guinan put aside his worries and explained in detail.

Tianyi had already figured it out. Trying to avoid certain things for the sake of peace would only lead to regression and a passive position.

Life was like rowing upstream; if you don't advance, you fall back. Don't think that standing still will preserve what you already have; you will only lose it faster.

Since fate had pushed him to a confrontation with Huangfu Group, he had to face the challenge head-on.

Therefore, he had decided to support Zhan Jiayi's counter-suit and also instructed An Jing to hand over the surveillance videos they possessed to Xi Xianya.

If a storm was coming, he would make the storm bigger and fiercer, and see if he could capsize the "aircraft carrier" that was Huangfu Group.

...

When Tianyi returned home, Susu had already gotten up.

She was sitting in the dining room drinking the soup Xiaomei had stewed and asked, "Xiaomei, why did you suddenly stew such a fattening soup?"

"Young Madam, this isn't a fattening soup; it's a nourishing soup. Seeing that you slept all day, you must be deficient in qi and blood and need to replenish." Xiaomei said with a smile.

If Susu hadn't been truly hungry, she wouldn't have wanted to drink this soup. She forced herself to drink a few sips, enduring the cloying taste of the thick soup.

Tianyi quietly came up to her, gently stroked her head, and said, "What kind of soup is this, like poison? Is it that necessary?"

Susu was startled by him and almost choked.

"Why are you back so early? You didn't say anything. You're trying to scare me to death."

Tianyi smiled and sat beside her, noticing that her face looked puffy after sleeping all day.

"Little lazybones, all you do is sleep. You haven't eaten all day, eat more."

Susu complained, "I've slept so much I feel moldy, and I'm not even that hungry."

Tianyi stared at her and said domineeringly, "You must finish this bowl of soup."

"No, it's too greasy. I want something else to whet my appetite," Susu said, acting spoiled.

Hearing her say she wanted something to whet her appetite, Xiaomei quickly brought out a plate of preserved fruits and placed it in front of her. "Young Madam, here are some preserved fruits. They're sweet and sour. Try them."

Susu pointed at her and laughed, "Okay, these are your hidden snacks, aren't they?"

Xiaomei was about to say they were bought specifically for her, but she glanced at Tianyi and swallowed her words.

As Susu reached out to take the preserved fruits, Tianyi hit her hand, stopping her from eating them first. "Finish the soup."

Susu couldn't stand his overbearing and unreasonable nature and deliberately teased him, "Then you drink a bowl too, and I'll finish mine."

"Xiaomei, pour me a bowl of soup too."

Xiaomei responded and immediately went to fetch the soup.

Seeing Tianyi holding the soup bowl, Susu drank it down without a word, her face showing surprise. She asked, "Did you not drink any water in the office today?"

After drinking it, Tianyi also found it greasy and wanted to ask Xiaomei what she had put in the soup.

He didn't answer Susu, only gestured for her to finish hers as well.

Susu had no choice but to drink her soup in one go and then eat the preserved fruits.

Xiaomei watched them, wanting to laugh but holding back. "Young Master, Young Madam, please wait a moment. I'll go make dinner now."
