Milk, eggs, bacon, bread... these were things that shouldn't exist on Tianyi's island.
It seemed Allen was incredibly resourceful on this island. No wonder Tianyi had sought Allen's help after discovering her disappearance, only to fall into Allen's trap.
Susu picked up a piece of bacon and took a bite. "What exactly do you need me to do? As long as Yang Sijie remembers you, you'll let me go and let me see Tianyi?"
"Don't be so impatient, eat something first," Allen said with a smile. "Since Frank is like this and still cares about you so much, I will treat you just as well."
Susu said, "The thought of Tianyi being locked up somewhere terrible, possibly not getting enough to eat and being cold, makes me unable to eat anything. You should be able to understand this feeling, right?"
"Don't worry, he won't be cold or hungry," Allen said, taking the paper from her hand. "Have you memorized Frank's daily schedule?"
"I've memorized it. Are you asking me to serve him according to this schedule?"
"That's not necessary. I'll personally take care of his daily needs. You just need to keep him company and talk to him when he's alone in the back garden, especially talk about the past."
Susu hesitated and asked, "He only spends one hour in the garden in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. What should I do with the rest of the time?"
"Whatever you want. There's a piano, books, magazines... you can stay in the garden by yourself, just don't disturb us." Allen asked her seriously, "Understand?"
"Okay," Susu replied. "I'll do my best to help him remember you and let him know how good you are to him."
As Allen turned, he stiffened slightly and said, "He'll be alone in the garden watching the sea shortly. Go and keep him company."
After he left, Susu stared at his retreating figure. He walked to the door of the house, then went upstairs to a room and closed the door.
She really wanted to follow him and see what Allen was doing behind the closed door upstairs while Yang Sijie was alone in the garden.
But as soon as she stepped out of the music room, a local blocked her path.
This person spoke in English, "Miss, please push Mr. Frank to the garden."
"Who are you?" Susu had encountered locals before, but they were all unintelligible. This was the only one who could speak English.
The other person smiled and introduced himself, "You can call me Tom. Mr. Allen gave me this name. Sir said you can move freely on the first floor, but you cannot go to the second floor."
"Tom, hello." Susu greeted him and followed him to push Yang Sijie to the garden.
Although Yang Sijie couldn't call her name, he smiled when he saw her, his smile crooked unnaturally to one side, and drool began to drip from his mouth.
Susu looked at the man who had once given her warmth and care, and also endless torment. Her heart ached uncontrollably.
Even though he had become like this, the thought of some past events still made her involuntarily afraid. His past actions had long exceeded her capacity to endure.
She couldn't bring herself to smile at him. She silently pushed him into the garden and then turned him to face the sea.
Yang Sijie tried to turn his head to look at her, but each time, even turning his head was difficult.
Susu stood behind the wheelchair and sighed, "Don't look at me. Look at the sea in the distance. You shouldn't still remember me. You should remember Allen; he is the one who is truly loyal and has brotherly affection."
Yang Sijie no longer tried to look at her. He lowered his head in frustration, not looking at the sea either, and mumbled, "I only remember being happy when I was with you..."
"Then you remember incorrectly," Susu said, her eyes fixed on the distant sea. "You brought me nothing but a life worse than death, a life that followed me like a shadow. For a period when I thought you were dead, I dreamed of you every night and would wake up terrified by you in my dreams. Do you know how I felt when I saw you again?"
Yang Sijie made no sound. For him, even speaking coherently was difficult now.
Susu didn't care if he could still understand her words or think normally. These words had been bottled up inside her for a long time, and she thought she would never say them to him in this life.
The nightmares he had caused her lasted for a long time before she slowly escaped them under Tianyi's affection.
"I felt like you crawled out of hell just to drag me back into hell," Susu said with inner conflict. "Yang Sijie, why are you still alive? Living like this, I can't tell if I hate you more or pity you."
Yang Sijie suddenly started yelling in the wheelchair, hitting his head with one hand, then his face... he was hitting himself wildly, as if completely out of control.
Susu was terrified by his state and didn't know what to do.
His shouts attracted Tom. Susu hurriedly asked, "What's wrong with him? How can I make him stop?"
Tom said, "Try to hold his hands. I'll go call Mr. Allen."
"How do I hold his hands..."
Before Susu could finish asking, Tom had already run quickly into the house.
"Yang Sijie, don't hit yourself anymore!" Susu, afraid he would hurt himself, walked up to him and tried to grab his flailing hands, wanting to calm him down.
She boldly grabbed one of his flailing hands and, bending over, placed his hand on his lap.
He couldn't break free from her grip. He tilted his head back and shook his body in pain, covered in sweat.
At this moment, Allen arrived. Before Susu could speak, Allen took out a syringe filled with red liquid and injected Yang Sijie.
Only then did Yang Sijie stop shaking and gradually become quiet.
"How can you give him this medicine? It's addictive!" Susu was about to let go of Yang Sijie's hand and question Allen when she suddenly felt Yang Sijie trying to grip her hand back.
Allen also looked slightly surprised at this scene, but he immediately pulled their clasped hands apart and said, "It's addictive for normal people, but can you consider his current condition to be normal?"
Susu put her hand behind her back and asked again, "Do you mean that injecting him with this medicine has no side effects?"
Allen straightened Yang Sijie, who was no longer agitated or in pain, and asked abruptly, "When you were with him just now, did you say something that affected his emotions?"
"I just told him he shouldn't remember me, that the person he should remember most is you..."
"Who told you to say that to him so directly?" Allen said, suppressing his anger. "Can't you see how fragile his mind and body are now? It's a miracle he's alive! Are you ignorant of how to care for someone, or are you deliberately trying to take his life again!"
