Capítulo 834: Chapter 834: She, Hannah Hearne, Can Afford to Lose
“Still fighting?”
Hannah Hearne looked a bit surprised, pointing at Scarlett Jennings’ shoulder, “Your arm can’t move, can it?”
As soon as she finished speaking, she saw Scarlett press her left hand on her right shoulder, suddenly exerting force.
A cracking sound of bone dislocation was heard, pain flashed across Scarlett’s face, but she quickly returned to normal,
“Now it can.”
Hannah and the other ten members of the Special Demon Squad looked at her in surprise.
“That’s still not okay, your bone must be fractured. Winning against you like this isn’t fair.”
Hannah insisted, “I won’t pick on an Imp Sprite. Come fight me when you’re fully healed.”
As she spoke, she grabbed Liora Gold as if preparing to leave, but was stopped by Scarlett calling out to her again.
She called out to the system, “Shellback.”
The system obediently picked up a bag and flew it over to her.
Scarlett reached into the bag and pulled out a piece of Talisman Paper emanating a white spiritual light.
She addressed Hannah and the Special Demon Squad, “This is a Healing Talisman formed by Nathan White’s demon power, it’s not something from the Mystical Sect.”
With that, she placed the Talisman on her own arm.
Her fingers formed a spell, activating the Talisman.
The white spiritual light quickly merged into her arm, soon disappearing from sight.
Scarlett’s expression visibly relaxed, and she swung her arm in front of everyone.
“Now, we can fight.”
Hannah couldn’t believe it, but seeing Scarlett go to such lengths, a fight was inevitable.
She immediately tossed the little paperman behind her,
“Mirror Blue, help me watch for a while.”
She was ready to fight seriously.
Liora Gold saw Araminta Gold being handed over to someone else and wanted to go over, but the system had already snatched her away, taking her out of the field.
[Behave for now, wait for Scarlett to win back your little partner.]
In the meantime, Scarlett’s four fox tails slammed heavily onto the ground, the impact creating dents in the concrete as she launched herself swiftly towards Hannah once more.
The move was the same, but the momentum and speed were entirely different from before.
Hannah’s eyes turned serious, and her expression reflected her greater focus.
Nine tails each carried a fierce aura, entwining in battle, as both sides exchanged attacks. The two powerful white demon energies clashed violently, with faint traces of red demon energy spreading out.
The Spritelife Masters watching from afar couldn’t see clearly, but the nearby Demon Masters watching intently showed serious expressions,
“These are, two types of demon energy…”
Hannah also noticed this and couldn’t believe Scarlett had another type of demon energy besides the Fox Tribe’s.
Due to the addition of this energy, the gap in demon power between Scarlett and Hannah was subtly bridged.
Scarlett carefully balanced the two forces and entangled Hannah’s four tails with her own four tails.
Hannah rarely got so into a fight, she forgot to even control her voice, exclaiming directly,
“Even if the difference in demon power is filled, you still have one less tail than me!”
With that, the last tail attacked Scarlett again.
This time, the offensive was sharp and carried a murderous intent, clearly holding nothing back.
Everyone watched the scene tensely, but Scarlett didn’t dodge or evade, focusing intently.
In the next moment, the red demon energy quickly condensed in the air, faintly forming another red fox tail.
Although it was only an apparition formed by demon energy, it was enough to block Hannah’s last tail.
The two tails collided in the air, neither giving way.
Amid their mutual struggle, Scarlett suddenly formed a mantra with her hands.
Hannah, focused on countering the newly appeared fifth red phantom tail, suddenly saw Scarlett’s actions and shouted,
“No using spiritual power to cheat!”
Two types of demon power were bad enough, but adding spiritual power too?!
This was outright cheating!
Scarlett looked up at her and said, “Not cheating, this is demon energy forming a talisman.”
As she finished speaking, the spell she performed drew the remaining demon energy to her fingertips, quickly forming a Void Talisman,
“Heavenly Fire Thunder God, Earth Fire Thunder God, accept the order, descend swiftly…”
As Scarlett chanted, Hannah felt a terrifying aura of thunder and fire gathering above her head.
It wasn’t just her; the Special Demon Squad and the Spritelife Masters watching from the periphery all looked up at the sky, their expressions changing.
Using demon energy to summon Demon Thunder was a method only Great Demons would use, and yet Scarlett Jennings…
Couldn’t be!
But evidently, she could!
“…Obey my command, Heaven and Earth…”
Scarlett’s fingertips performing the mantra trembled slightly, yet she bit her lip and recited the last phrase. Before she could finish the final four words, Hannah suddenly interrupted,
“No more, no more, you win! Isn’t winning enough?!”
With that, the five tails that were previously entangling Scarlett were swiftly retracted.
Suddenly bereft of opposition, Scarlett quickly halted the nearly collapsing Demon Formula.
The previously formed Demon Talisman dispersed, with a backlash of demon energy surge accompanied by a metallic taste at her throat, which she forcibly suppressed without showing any sign of it on her face.
But being so close, Hannah could see her slightly pale complexion and knew she had been somewhat bluffing too.
Silently clicking her tongue in amazement, she realized she had really been bluffed!
Still, a loss is a loss.
Hannah Hearne could accept defeat.
“You win, I keep my word, that little thing is yours again.”
She spoke, gesturing to the boy named Mirror Blue, who instantly released his grip on Araminta Gold.
Araminta Gold, freed, immediately zipped towards the field.
Liora Gold saw this and quickly flew toward her as well.
Opening her little short arms, she prepared for a loving reunion with her partner.
Yet, Araminta Gold bypassed her directly, flying straight into Scarlett’s arms.
The little paperman clung tightly to Scarlett’s chest, looking up with a pretend crying gesture.
Liora wasn’t upset, seeing Scarlett open her hands, she jumped into Scarlett’s palm immediately.
Scarlett held Liora close to Araminta Gold, who promptly turned around and jumped onto Scarlett’s palm, the two little ones hugging each other tightly.
With tears flowing down, they both pretended to cry in reunion.
Watching the two small figures in her palm, Scarlett felt an inexplicable pang of tenderness.
Since Samuel Chalmers disappeared, Araminta Gold vanished as well. She had tried to use Liora Gold’s senses to find her, but couldn’t locate her in any way.
So these past months, was Araminta Gold wandering alone, or had she disappeared with Samuel but then found her way back?
Scarlett was about to ask when she saw Araminta Gold, after hugging for a while, push Liora Gold away as if remembering something important. She suddenly grabbed one of Scarlett’s fingers and acted as if she wanted to lead her away.
Scarlett’s heart fluttered, asking,
“Araminta, do you know… where he is?”
Araminta nodded, thought for a moment, flew to a patch of mud on the ground, picked up a twig, and started writing.
Scarlett rushed over, not minding anything else, and saw Araminta scribbling crookedly on the ground—
[He’s coming.]
