Chapter 928: Chapter 479: Squeeze In and Kill Crow
Costate specifically tested the sturdiness of this vortex portal and found that there was indeed no way to do anything about it, so he felt relieved.
His expression shifted slightly, and he stealthily stepped inside.
"Cunning!" Lancaster cursed.
The other people, seeing this, couldn’t help but have a slight change in their expressions as well, quickly following suit, fearing they might miss out on some benefits if they were too late.
This vortex portal could accommodate two or three people entering simultaneously, and Li Ming moved swiftly, just half a step behind Diwusi, leaning against one side of the vortex portal.
But as his body was about to disappear into the vortex, his swinging right hand seemed to touch a mechanical body standing on one side, and then he vanished.
However, no one paid attention to this small detail, all eager to rush inside.
In the blink of an eye, the area in front of the vortex portal was empty, leaving only the gloomy Crow and Gonzalez.
Crow unwillingly tried once more, but it was still the same result.
The hammering vortex portal made banging noises, causing slight ripples. He said angrily, "What is going on? Why can’t we get in? Could it be deliberately targeting the Star Alliance?"
"The Holy Spirit Civilization was destroyed before we even existed, how could it target us." Gonzalez shook his head.
Crow said in a deep voice, "I know!"
Gonzalez glanced at him, "Anger won’t solve any problem. This thing must have some sort of screening mechanism, which is why we’re being excluded."
Crow’s expression slightly calms down, realizing he had lost his composure, and upon hearing this, he couldn’t help but frown, "Screening mechanism? Even Reynolds and Mikhail, those mechanical bodies can get in, so what kind of screening mechanism is this?"
Gonzalez shook his head, "The Holy Spirit Civilization was a mechanical civilization, so it’s normal for mechanical bodies to enter, but why can flesh and blood life forms enter?"
His eyes slightly narrowed, and Crow blurted out, "Potential?"
He recalled the scene in the mimicry world where they queued up, with the giant’s foot vaguely appearing before him. His face darkened, but he frowned:
"No, if it’s because my development potential is too low, why can’t you get in either?"
Gonzalez frowned, "Therefore, there must be some commonality between us."
"Commonality..." Crow was bewildered, "That’s too broad, we simply can’t speculate."
The two fell into silence again. Gonzalez glanced at the surveillance mechanical body left by Mikhail, Reynolds, and Li Ming standing by the vortex portal.
A glint of light flashed in his eyes, and an energy shield enveloped the two, saying, "If we can’t figure it out before entering, what about considering it after entering?"
"Commonality after entering?" Crow was confused, then suddenly looked up and shouted, "Li Ming!"
He suddenly remembered, during the ring challenge, Li Ming had made small moves behind them, which indeed could be considered an unusual commonality.
"Rumor has it that Azure Dragon possesses some kind of genetic virus that can even regress the development progress of life forms." Gonzalez’s face turned ugly.
"Virus?" Crow had never heard of it, but he understood and said coldly, "You mean Li Ming implanted a virus in us at that time, thus preventing us from entering now."
"Can’t be certain, but the possibility is very high." Gonzalez shook his head, coldly staring at the mechanical body standing by the portal, "Truly vindictive."
"Too much bullying!" Murderous intent flared in Crow’s eyes, evidently believing Li Ming to be the instigator.
"But such a virus is just a rumor and its origin is unknown. I’ve never seen any examples either." Gonzalez continued, not too worried about the virus in their bodies.
A contagious genetic virus targeting X Level life forms is almost nonexistent in the current interstellar scenario. To cause damage, a specially targeted virus therapy is necessary.
Each X Level Genetic Evolution Body is unique, with the complexity of their genes far from being understood merely by taking a drop or two of blood.
"Even temporary effects are unacceptable." Crow’s attitude was firm, coldly stating, "He must pay the price!"
"The current key is how to enter this door." Gonzalez shook his head and moved to the front of the vortex portal again.
He covered it with his palm, trying with force as if pushing an indestructible door.
Meanwhile, Crow looked up at the swirling gray-white mist, his eyes flickered, "What if we simply leave?"
"Hmm?"
"Getting in might be very difficult, but causing damage might not be hard. Just trigger a rapid collapse here." Crow’s eyes shone with brilliance.
"Do you want to bury them all here?" Gonzalez’s heart skipped a beat, and the manipulated energy almost went awry as he turned to stop him, "No way!"
"With just the two of us returning, we’d have no way to explain to the Empire and the Federation. Moreover, these Divine Craftsmen have backup consciousness, at most they’d suffer the loss of mechanical bodies."
"Also, the true body of Azure Dragon isn’t here, doing this is more harm than good."
It’s not that it can’t be done, it’s just that there’s no point to it, and the trouble caused would be unmanageable.
"As long as we are careful and stay hidden, disappearing for a thousand or two thousand years..." Crow seemed eager to make it happen.
"No!" Gonzalez interrupted firmly, he didn’t have a life-and-death feud with others.
The Star Alliance is a multi-civilization federation, and he and Crow come from entirely different civilizations, unwilling to go into hiding for this.
The others knew this too, which is why they entered with peace of mind.
Crow’s face flickered, sighing regretfully. Suddenly hearing Gonzalez’s voice: "Hmm? It seems I can get in now?"
