Chapter 142: Frederick
"Lester Blood."
She wasn’t surprised that Sunny knew the name, and smiled faintly as her lower body began to turn to dust.
"Lester Blood is the leader of the strongest faction of the three, and he resides in a world higher than both the Upper and Great worlds," she revealed.
"You could say he is the one and only ruler."
Her form was becoming more ethereal by the second:
"Remember... you’ll need the full power of both girls to aid you in this war. Not only that, you must have at least 100 God-rank and above rank warriors behind you before you can even think of facing him."
"So, without all these things, I can’t win?" Sunny asked, his voice filled with urgency.
"Only if you reach the Tenth Order."
With that, she turned to look at Ellen, a warm smile gracing her face:
"Be good, Ellen, that is the name you are called now, right?"
Ellen nodded her head slowly.
"I like it... your new father will teach you everything you need to know." Then, she turned back to Sunny:
"You shouldn’t unlock their bloodlines now, but that doesn’t mean their growth should be halted. The stronger they become now, the stronger they will be once their bloodlines are unlocked."
Sunny, Star, and Ellen watched in awe as she transformed into a myriad of light particles, flying into the sky before disappearing completely.
’So many enemies... And what is the Tenth Order? Is that another ranking system? If I don’t reach that rank, I’ll need at least 100 God-rank warriors. It’s not impossible to train so many, but that will take years.’ Sunny thought, his gaze falling on Ellen.
’As long as their bloodlines are sealed, we’re safe.’
The woman’s words pointed to several truths. First, there was a fourth world above the Great World, and it was Lester Blood’s territory. Second, he would need an insane number of God-rank and higher rank warriors to face him, which meant Lester had an army of them.
"If he had that many, what about the other two factions?"
Sunny sighed, the frustration evident on his face: ’Power always leads to trouble.’
His eyes turned cold. "No matter how long it takes, I will get to that rank! Lester Blood, one day... we will meet." He muttered in a low voice, then turned to Ellen.
"Ellen... there’s something you need to see."
Ellen and Star exchanged a confused glance, blinking in unison.
_____
"How cute... someone actually destroyed Yggdrasil." Sphinx murmured, her gaze fixed on the clear blue sky. She then lowered her eyes to Jabez and his two companions. They lay on the ground, their cloaks torn, blood staining their bodies.
"Thinking you could defeat me was beyond stupid." The creature took a step forward.
"You are just slaves of the Blood Queen; only Lester’s slaves can face me. You are nothing."
BOOM!
The Sphinx turned her head towards the gate, which vibrated for a few seconds before it vanished.
"It seems the spell is gone, and I’ll be forced out of this lower world. We will see each other again. Next time, I’ll teach your Queen a good lesson."
With that, she glowed and vanished from sight.
"What a bitch!" Alastor hissed, wiping blood from his mouth.
"She and the Queen are both in the Fifth Order. What made her think she could take her on?" Andras said, his voice cold.
"Quiet, you two!" Jabez demanded, struggling to his feet.
"Don’t forget the Queen is still dormant. This Sphinx is a Fifth Order, but the Queen isn’t even a God-rank yet..." He sighed, shaking his head.
"She also said someone destroyed Yggdrasil, which means the Queen’s sword is lost. That will greatly reduce her power. Even with the ring and her remaining artifacts, she will only be in the Third Order."
"Then let’s call out the remaining Deaths!" Andras suggested.
"No! If so many of us arrive here, those immortals in the Divine, Demigod, and God ranks will detect it," Jabez countered, his expression grim.
"The three of us must push ourselves to the limit! No matter what, the Queen must be resurrected, and with her full strength!"
He pulled out a teleportation crystal, crushed it, and disappeared with his two companions.
____
[Three-eyed Nation.]
Throne Hall.]
Jolie sat on her throne, a deep frown etched on her face as she stared at Jade and Jinx, who stood before her.
"So you got twenty thousand soldiers killed without accomplishing anything?" she asked, her voice laced with ice.
"It is all my fault. If I had gone with her plan, they would still be alive," Jade confessed, her eyes cast down to the floor.
"And your two guards?" Jolie pressed.
"They were also killed in the battle," Jade answered.
Jolie turned to Jinx. "You saved only her?"
"What could I do?" Jinx shrugged, a bored expression on her face.
"If she dies, the one delivering my money will be lost."
’This fool said her third eye helped detect lies... What a stupid joke. She can’t even tell her commander was lying. Maybe there’s another way to block their skills without special equipment like my ring.’ Jinx thought to herself.
"So you lost the artifact again?" the Queen asked, her frustration mounting.
"We didn’t even see it," Jade said, looking up at her. "When I was taken to the castle, I didn’t sense it. Maybe the God Wolf is with it."
"Wait, you two! What artifact?" Jinx asked, a frown creasing her brow.
The Queen and Jade looked at her, then at each other, a moment of hesitation passing between them.
"If you don’t want to tell me, I’m off," Jinx declared, turning to walk away.
"You guys handle your issues yourselves."
"Wait," Jolie said, stopping her.
Jinx paused and looked at her over her shoulder.
"Come on in, Frederick."
Jinx turned back, her eyes landing on a handsome young man who walked out of a nearby room and headed toward Jolie.
’Why does his energy signature feel so much like Star’s?’ Jinx thought, a deep frown on her face.
Frederick stopped beside his mother and turned to Jinx:
"Nice meeting you," the prince said with a slight bow.
"How does this answer my question?" Jinx demanded.
Frederick raised an eyebrow and took a step forward, appearing directly in front of Jinx. He stared straight into her eyes. "I need the artifact to stabilize myself. I have little time left."
"What will happen if you run out of time?" Jinx asked, her gaze unwavering.
"Well... I will lose control," he answered.
Jinx nodded and shifted her gaze to Jolie. "So you’re searching for this artifact to save your son?"
"It was originally mine." Jolie said with a nod.
"Does this artifact have another use?" Jinx pressed.
"Why so many questions?" Jade asked, suspicion lacing her voice.
"Hey, I want to know what you guys will gain from this," Jinx explained.
"If this succeeds, I’ll simply get paid off, but you will have both the artifact and the Beastify Nation’s lands. So am I wrong in asking?"
"..."
The three of them were dumbfounded, unable to respond.
