Chapter 240-4: Rare Restricted Golden Boss Template (Part 4)

Only that 1% of true geniuses might reach Level 9, and among that 1%, fewer than 30% of intermediate mages would ever become Level 10 advanced mages.

That was the innate limit for the vast majority of ordinary humans.

If there were a growth template system, Li De estimated that ordinary human spellcasters would simply have a common template, with Level 8 as their ultimate ceiling, while those prodigies capable of breaking through to become Level 10 advanced professionals were using an elite template.

As for even higher Levels, Level 15, that would be a hero template, and anything beyond that, Transcendent, would be a boss template. The most advanced, legendary ones were at least the rare restricted golden boss template.

Of course, this was only Li De’s conjecture, but it probably wasn’t far off.

Vampires, as a superior race, were born with the elite template. Given enough time, they would inevitably break through to Level 10 and become advanced professionals.

Moreover, the vampire template was growth-capable, it wasn’t locked. Even an ordinary vampire, as long as it lived long enough, could potentially break through to become a Level 15 top-tier professional.

As for anything beyond Transcendent, well, that would depend on fate.

Li De himself found the difficulty of surpassing Transcendent to be exasperating. Level 15 already required 50,000 experience, when he reached Level 19, would he need 500,000 or even a million?

The mere thought was daunting.

According to Li De’s estimate of his own panel, the Vampire Progenitor’s growth template had to be no less than a rare restricted golden boss template, after all, he was the king of a superior race.

And for the players, Li De guessed their growth templates were at the very least elite templates, and like the vampires, players also had growth potential.

Even if some players had poor innate talent, as long as they kept at it long enough, they could still push their level higher.

Of course, the world of Glory didn’t actually have a ‘template’ system in any formal sense, but that didn’t stop Li De from making player-style speculations about it.

After pondering a moment, Li De suddenly felt that something was off.

“As someone with a rare restricted golden boss template, am I...too weak?”

Yes, too weak.

Although he’d previously felt quite strong, when he compared himself to the top combatants under his command who were already over Level 15, he suddenly felt...weak.

It wasn’t weakness from his level, it was that he felt the vampires lacked any distinguishing features.

That’s right, no distinguishing features. Ordinary.

Although the vampires were strong enough, the way they had violently crushed the ten-thousand-strong beastmen army last time proved their combat prowess.

Still, the vampires seemed to lack a profession of their own.

Even he, the Vampire Progenitor, used the ordinary mage template.

Sure, he had talents like Bat Transformation and Vampire Progenitor, but in the end, he still lacked a few traits truly unique to the vampires.

Too plain. It didn’t fit the identity of a superior race.

Li De frowned slowly as he thought this.

He didn’t know if it was just his imagination, but he always felt the vampires’ potential went far beyond this.

Could a race that was known as a superior race really be so simple?

Other superior beings in Glory were all renowned, elves in the Ancient Forest, nagas in the Storm Sea, serpent demons in the Bottomless Abyss, golden lion race of the Barren Plains, and so on.

Any superior race that was famous possessed special and extremely formidable abilities.

Though they couldn’t compare to the Golden Race, a superior race was still far beyond what ordinary creatures could match.

Originally, Li De had been satisfied with his own strength, but as he learned more about Glory and as his subordinates grew stronger and stronger, he slowly realized that what he had once thought of as strength really wasn’t much compared to the true top combat power.

Just like Kap the Level 18 Beastmen King, that golden lionman was also of a superior race, yet even under the nonstop assault of the bone dragon, Stanley, Emi, Betty, and Grote, five powerful top-tier professionals, he was able to wound four of them severely, and the Level 18 bone dragon’s Soul Fire flickered unsteadily.

Such absurd combat power had given Li De a direct understanding of the gap between himself and those at the pinnacle.

Of course, in the end, that Level 18 Beastmen King still ended up a captive in his prison.

But the impact Kap had made on Li De was not something that could be easily erased.

If even that opponent could be so powerful, why should he, who was the Vampire Progenitor, be stuck using an ordinary human mage template?

It didn’t make sense.

Yet lacking more information, he also didn’t know how to resolve this issue for now.

Li De looked at his own panel:

Level: Mage Lv14 (5870/50000)

There was still a very long way to go before reaching Level 15.

After contemplating silently for a while, he shook his head. Level 15 was a massive watershed, but he was still far from it, and he couldn’t be sure if his thoughts were even correct.

Perhaps the vampires were more than this, or perhaps this really was all they were.

After all, his Vampire Progenitor talent was far more powerful than any Northern Warrior bloodline.

No matter how formidable you were, you still had to become his subordinate and serve him to the death. That single talent alone was worth countless combat abilities, overbearing and unparalleled.

So maybe it was understandable if other attributes were a bit weaker.

He shook his head and stopped thinking about it, though in his heart he quietly and firmly made a note to remember this matter.

“Looks like I need to speed up leveling.”

“Level 15.”
