Chapter 8: Graveyard
Seeing that Fei Jie recognized Uncle Wu Zhu, Fan Xian knew that this was not his place to intervene, so he pretended to be dumb and sat on the bed.
After the adults had explained everything, Fan Xian used his little arms to take the bedsheet off Fei Jie, then hid behind Wu Zhu, giggling foolishly, playing the part of a mentally challenged child.
Unfortunately, he showed his hand a little today, and these two formidable figures knew that the four-year-old child in front of them was far from simple.
The sky was already faintly brightening, and the sounds of roosters crowing and servants boiling water could be heard faintly in the distance.
Wu Zhu led Fei Jie out of the door, but before leaving, Fan Xian heard Wu Zhu's cold voice: "When will you explain why you know who I am?"
Fan Xian's heart skipped a beat. He really didn't know how to explain it. Four years ago, when he traveled thousands of miles to Danzhou with Uncle Wu Zhu, he was just a baby of a few months old. He thought and thought, but couldn't find a good excuse, only regretting that he had been so scared by that eccentric old man Fei Jie at the time.
Danzhou city began to wake up from its slumber, but that inconspicuous little grocery store showed no signs of opening.
Inside a dim room in the store, Wu Zhu coldly looked at Fei Jie: "What do you mean by 'cripple'?"
Although Fei Jie could be considered a master in some respects, he couldn't help but feel apprehensive when he thought of the rumored cold-bloodedness and ruthlessness of the blind young man in front of him, and replied, "The young master will always grow up, and he will eventually face those things in the capital. Preparing earlier will give him a better chance of success in the future."
Wu Zhu raised his head and "looked" at him.
Although he knew that the other party was blind, Fei Jie always felt that there were two murderous beams of light behind the black cloth staring at him. He said with a smile, "If Master Wu has any objections, I can return to the capital immediately. I believe the master will respect your opinion."
Wu Zhu shook his head: "I think that 'cripple' sending you here shouldn't be that simple."
"That's right." Fei Jie thought to himself that only this guy dared to call the Dean "cripple" directly. He bowed slightly and replied, "The Dean has not been able to find the box left behind by Miss, and is very worried that it will be found by those who have ulterior motives, so he would like to ask Master Wu for guidance."
"There's no need to look for it. Miss destroyed that box before she passed away," Wu Zhu said expressionlessly.
Fei Jie nodded and turned to leave, then suddenly frowned and said, "I always feel that the young master is a bit strange, Master Wu. He is only four years old, and you are letting him practice such domineering true qi techniques. Aren't you afraid something will happen?"
"The strange things are yet to come, and I didn't teach him his true qi techniques either." Wu Zhu looked at the venomous creature who was about to become the young master's teacher and said faintly, "You've worked hard."
Fei Jie touched the faintly aching wound on his head, and felt that this sentence seemed to have some bad omens, and bid farewell with a wry smile.
After he left, the blind Wu Zhu entered a secret room in the grocery store and stared blankly at a dusty box in the corner. His eyes were still covered with that black cloth, but it was clear that he was thinking about something.
...
...
During the day, a strange gentleman came to the Earl's residence. After submitting his name card, he was personally received by the Old Lady and, for some reason, gained her trust and began to serve as the second teacher of the Fan family's young master.
The maids had already spread the word about this matter, and they were all very curious how a guy with a bandage on his head, who looked like an old rogue, was qualified to be their beloved young master's teacher.
In the study, Fan Xian was obediently giving Fei, the teacher, a back massage, because he had hit him with a pillow the night before, so he had to try to please him now.
"Teacher, you can't blame the student for this." He said in a childish voice, feeling quite disgusted himself, "You brought a knife, and the student is young, so I was a little impulsive."
Fei Jie thought to himself, how could he pry open that door if he didn't bring a knife? He was just preparing to secretly take a look at what the legendary illegitimate child looked like, but who knew that the child would be up in the middle of the night, not sleeping, and suffering from insomnia.
So this misunderstanding was unavoidable, but his head still hurt a bit. Unfortunately, he would have to find a way to get revenge for this debt in the future.
"I thought the teacher would come to teach me quietly."
"That's right. In many stories in Jianghu legends, a young man in a secluded garden encounters an unconventional person and learns amazing skills, while those around him are unaware. This kind of thing happens often."
Fan Xian looked at teacher Fei Jie with a bitter face, listening to him speak.
"But not everyone in this world is a fool, and you're not my daughter-in-law, and I don't like climbing walls every day." Fei Jie's face was not very good, looking at the little boy in front of him, "So since I can have an identity, it's better to use this identity to teach you."
Fan Xian chuckled and climbed onto his lap, sitting comfortably: "Teacher, do you know my father? What kind of person is he?"
Fei Jie's face turned red and green. He knew that this little guy was full of evil intentions, but he was still acting innocent in front of him. He felt a sense of powerlessness in his body. Hearing the other party's question, he thought for a while before replying, "The Earl is a friend of my boss, so he asked me to come and teach you. You should still call me teacher in the future."
"Teacher? Then what are you going to teach me?"
Fei Jie chuckled, a strange light flashing in his brownish pupils: "I only know... poison, so I'm here to teach you how to use poison to kill people, and how not to be poisoned by others."
He originally thought that this sentence would scare the little kid to tears, but Fei Jie immediately realized that the child in front of him was no ordinary person, and his trick probably wouldn't work.
Sure enough, Fan Xian's big eyes were full of excitement, and his long eyelashes blinked, showing great interest: "Then what are we waiting for? Should I go catch a few rabbits to use as guinea pigs? If rabbits aren't good, then how about toads?"
Fei Jie turned around foolishly, thinking, is this little guy really only four years old?
———————————————————————
Several months later.
In the mass burial ground about ten miles away from Danzhou Port, in the slightly pale eastern sky, the faint morning light shone on the dark graveyard, making this land seem even more ghostly.
Fei Jie stood outside the graveyard with his hands in his sleeves, watching the little young master who was squatting in the grave pit, his eyebrows twitching slightly.
This time, he used the excuse of traveling to ask the old lady of the Earl's mansion for a few days off, and brought Fan Xian to the graveyard to dig up corpses to learn about human anatomy.
Although he knew that young master Fan Xian was very different from ordinary little boys, Fei Jie was shocked when he saw that Fan Xian had actually gotten used to the gloomy atmosphere of the graveyard in just a short time, and had stabilized his mind so quickly, and began to dissect the corpses in the graveyard according to the relevant content he had learned in the past month.
He had always been a professional who dealt with these corpses, but he had never seen a four-year-old boy who could face corpses so calmly.
The grave pit was full of stench, and a beautiful and clean little boy was wearing a big mask.
This scene was terrifying, very terrifying, and Fan Xian felt that his second life was still miserable.
