Zhan Qing subconsciously turned his head, and Fu Rongyin, whether intentionally or not, lay down, turning his back to the door.
Zhan Qing watched for a while then withdrew his gaze and left the door ajar, “Bad timing, he just fell asleep.”

Fu Rongyin took the document, and the further he read, the uglier his expression became.
Finally, he threw the document at Zhan Qing, “Is this your handiwork?”
Zhan Qing didn’t need to look to know what it was about, “Isn’t it you who said not to stir things up there for now? Besides, your plan was to wait for your wife to enter prison before taking care of her.”
Fu Rongyin’s expression changed drastically, turning sharply to Chi Yue, his heart clenched.

After what happened last time, how could he possibly make the same mistake and send Chi Yue there again?

“I thought the same, but seeing your handling of it, I think it’s safer if I do it myself.” After a pause, she asked, “So, did you already know who set me up?”
Fu Rongyin’s eyes darkened slightly, “I know who hit me.”
“Oh.”
No wonder he hadn’t approached her; he had known all along she wasn’t the perpetrator.
Chi Yue nodded, “I understand. Rest well, I won’t disturb you any longer.”
Seeing Chi Yue walk away just like that, Fu Rongyin was initially stunned, then looked at Zhan Qing, who responded with an exasperated look, “Won’t you chase her yourself?”
“I would like to, but I can’t catch up.”
Saying so, he glanced at his plastered leg.
Zhan Qing pondered for a moment, then pulled out his phone and dialed Lin Wanyun’s number.
The call connected, and his smile faded, “Fu Rongyin needs a favor…uh-huh, he wants to see Chi Yue…uh-huh, okay.”
Under Fu Rongyin’s complex gaze, he hung up the phone, then got up to walk out.
“Where are you going?”
Zhan Qing stopped and turned back, “What, do you want me to stay and be a third wheel?”
Fu Rongyin: “…”
Zhan Qing glanced at the time, “If she doesn’t come back in five minutes, call me.”
