Chapter 752: Chapter 752: Soon We Won’t Be Family Anymore
Fu Hanyan spoke in a gentle voice, "Daddy is on a business trip and can’t make it back. When Daddy returns, let’s have him make it up to you both, okay?"
Fu Mianmian widened her eyes, "Auntie, does Daddy not want us anymore?"
Fu Hanyan was startled, "Why would you think that?"
"Zhan Mobai told me that his daddy also often didn’t come home, and later his mommy wanted to divorce his daddy. Zhuangzhuang’s daddy is the same~ Auntie, are my daddy and mommy also getting a divorce?"
A sour feeling welled up in Fu Hanyan’s heart, "No, they won’t get a divorce."
A glimmer of hope appeared in Fu Mianmian’s eyes, "Really? I don’t want them to divorce. Auntie, if they do plan to divorce, you have to help me; I don’t want them to divorce."
Fu Hanyan nodded very earnestly, "I will, don’t worry."
Fu Mianmian’s body was still recovering. She woke up to eat something and after chatting with Fu Hanyan for a bit, she went back to sleep again.
Watching the mother and daughter sleeping soundly, Fu Hanyan quietly left the room and dialed Fu Rongyin’s phone.
To her surprise, the call didn’t go through.
Fu Hanyan tried several more times, only to find that it still didn’t go through.
She sighed.
She had no idea what her brother was doing in Beijing; if she were Chi Yue, she wouldn’t be able to handle it any better than Chi Yue had.
Even though a relationship is a matter between two people, as an outsider Fu Hanyan could see clearly that Chi Yue was obviously giving more than her brother. Even if it was a punishment for forgetting Fu Rongyin, her past with him had been paid off.
"What are you doing?"
Nan Yuan’s voice interrupted Chi Yue’s train of thought.
He walked up to her and said with a heartache, "I’m sorry, even being with me hasn’t given you a single day of peace."
Fu Hanyan shook her head, "Not at all, it’s not hard as long as I can be with you."
Nan Yuan glanced at the hospital room, "How’s Mianmian doing?"
"She woke up and then fell asleep again. I told my sister-in-law to rest for a while. How’s that person doing?"
Fu Hanyan had come with Nan Yuan, but after dropping off Fu Hanyan at the hospital, he went to the police station, fearing that Chi Jianshan might need help.
Nan Yuan looked a bit pale, clearly, he had been running around all day as well.
"That person refuses to say anything, insists it was a moment of impulse, wanting to kidnap Fu Mianmian, but then had a change of heart at the last moment and so left Fu Mianmian in the storage room."
Fu Hanyan clenched her fists in anger, "Even I don’t believe that excuse! There are kids in the kindergarten with better circumstances than Mianmian; why did she specifically choose Mianmian to target?"
She couldn’t believe it; that person must be hiding something.
Nan Yuan thought the same, but what mattered most was evidence. Without proof of the person’s motive, at most, they would face a fine and a few days’ detention.
"You all go back, I’ll handle this matter," Nan Yuan said.
Chi Yue had emerged from the hospital room without them noticing and stood behind them.
Fu Hanyan quickly walked to her, "Sister-in-law, we are family, don’t be a stranger."
Chi Yue pulled her hand away expressionlessly, "Soon we won’t be family anymore, in the future, let’s just be friends."
Nan Yuan frowned, "Chi Yue, we’ve known each other for so many years, don’t be like this."
Chi Yue didn’t relent and turned around, "You all go back. I’ve already contacted a lawyer; the rest can be left to them."
Chi Yue returned to the hospital room and closed the door, her eyes placid.
Fu Rongyin was Fu Hanyan’s own brother, and Nan Yuan was the love of her life; standing against Fu Rongyin would only make both men feel awkward.
Moreover, she had the capability to deal with this matter on her own.
Chi Yue called Dai Qiu and gave her a few instructions, then called Chu Shuo.
The next day, Chu Shuo sent over a stack of documents.
