Chapter 675: Chapter 322
A few drops of crimson blood passed through the nearly closing wall of grey mist and fell to the ground, writhing like living creatures.
Ronan’s eyes flickered; he moved his foot and crushed them mercilessly.
Sharp screams, like those of a woman, and the sound of countless splashes hitting the wall immediately came from the other side of the grey mist wall.
Just like last time when they encountered the head monster, after a while, the sharp and noisy sounds on the other side of the wall suddenly stopped, disappearing without a trace.
Molli’er, feeling a lingering fear, patted her chest, blinked at Ronan, and said, “Is the wall moving?”
“It seems so.”
Ronan checked the Space Key in his hand; the spatial energy fluctuations within it had significantly weakened, and the originally translucent silver-white had become somewhat dim and obscure, showing signs of reverting to an ordinary silver state.
Molli’er couldn’t help but mutter, “We already have no sense of direction, and now the maze is moving. When will we find our way out?”
“For now, we’ll have to test our luck slowly.”
Ronan exhaled lightly and continued walking forward.
Their luck was clearly not very good. Not long after avoiding the “Feast” Wizard, they encountered another “Monster” at a corridor’s corner.
—
In the dim corridor, there was a barely audible sound of a music box playing.
A beam of light shone down from above, illuminating a figure.
It was a woman dressed in a white ballet dress, her golden hair was elegantly pinned up, and she was extremely beautiful, with a bright smile on her face. Strangely, she stood still on her toes like a puppet, her green eyes empty and hollow.
Embedded in her snow-white and full chest was a giant brass-colored winding key.
Ronan’s gaze had just fallen upon it when he felt Molli’er gently pinch the soft part of his waist and heard a warning whisper, “Don’t look!”
“Creak, creak, creak—”
Suddenly, the winding key on the woman’s chest began to turn.
The puppet-like woman seemed to receive motion from the winding key, and with a series of stiff dance movements, she moved swiftly toward Ronan and Molli’er.
Ronan’s eyes flickered as he slowly led Molli’er to retreat along the original path.
But as soon as he turned his head, he saw at the end of the corridor, a figure clad in armor, holding a sword in one hand, standing quietly like an Ancient Knight.
Ronan’s pupils contracted sharply, and Molli’er beside him instinctively covered her mouth, as if to prevent herself from suddenly screaming.
With a light intake of breath, just as Ronan slowly lifted his right hand holding the Space Key…
“Thump, thump, thump—”
“Creak, creak, creak—”
The heavy footsteps of old boots stomping on the ground and the rapid turning sound of the winding key simultaneously echoed in front and behind, urging them on like a death knell.
“Swish—”
The sharp tip of the key lightly sliced through the high wall made of grey mist, and Ronan clutched Molli’er tightly, as he once had in Homer Blue Town to evade the Dawn’s fire falling from the sky, rolling sideways into the wall.
Just as they barely landed, Ronan slapped the gap in the grey mist wall with his backhand.
Titanium flowed out a bit slowly, transforming into a brilliant golden state within space. Under the intense spell waves, sixteen pairs of Golden Eagle Wings rapidly unfurled and then closed even more quickly!
“Boom!”
A mighty, flood-like terrifying energy gushed from the other side of the tall wall, crashing fiercely into the Golden Eagle Wings.
Ronan was directly slammed by this force into the wall behind him, coughing up fresh blood.
At this moment, another strange Curse Power spread out, rapidly extending along the Golden Eagle Wings.
Wherever the Curse Power passed, the titanium in its golden state seemed to have endured a long river of time in an instant, dimming in brilliance, and chunks of gold peeled away like rusted metal.
“Catch it!”
Gritting his teeth, Ronan tossed the Space Key in his hand to Molli’er.
Molli’er caught it at once, and flames surged on her hair in an instant, her eyes shifting to a noble golden-red hue.
The elegant lady’s staff in Molli’er’s hand was raised high, released, and whipped towards the fissure full of Fury without a glance at the outcome, then swiftly wielding the Space Key to slash down hard at the crack!
The rapidly closing grey wall was like a dam constantly closing its gates, and the furious force gushing from the other side of the gap gradually diminished until it disappeared completely.
“Bang!”
As the grey wall fully sealed, a massive and dull thud came from the other side of the wall, causing the wall to tremble slightly.
“Hoo—”
That was close.
Ronan exhaled a breath of turbid air and slowly stood up from beside the wall.
The titanium retracted into his Magic Robe, and his right hand expanded and contracted continuously, easing the slight effects brought on by the strange Curse Power just now.
A flash of silver light streaked over, and Ronan casually caught it, glancing at Molli’er with slight astonishment, not expecting her to return the Space Key so readily.
Molli’er’s face remained expressionless, and at that moment, Ronan saw a trace of the former “Ash Witch” in her.
Without this Space Key, they would probably have died several times in the maze by now.
Ronan looked down at the silver key in his hand and slowly shook his head.
At that moment, he wasn’t sure whether he was feeling fortunate or unfortunate.
He lifted his head to observe the new surroundings before him.
The next moment, Ronan’s gaze fixed slightly, followed by Molli’er’s soft murmur.
“I didn’t expect our luck to be this good.
But isn’t this door a bit too many?”
Before them now was a straight passage.
“`
On both sides of the passageway, at regular intervals, there are small doors engraved with strange patterns. At the end of the passageway, there stands a small door as well, but it is the only door that is free of any carvings, exceptionally smooth.
Ronan gave Molli’er a look, then slowly approached.
He came to the small door closest to him, narrowing his eyes to scrutinize the door’s appearance.
This is a gray door, with yellow lines outlining some undecipherable symbols. At the handle’s position, there is a noticeable keyhole.
Ronan picked up the Space Key, aimed it at the keyhole, and gently inserted it…
But soon pulled it out again.
His eyes flickered for a moment, abandoning the idea of directly unlocking with the Space Key, and instead channeling his spiritual power, slowly infiltrating through the keyhole into the small door.
It felt like passing through a dark and endless tunnel.
Suddenly, a moment came, and finally, “light” appeared in sight!
Ronan’s spiritual power tensed slightly, “seeing” a not-so-large space inside the small door.
In this space, the surroundings were filled with thick, nauseating yellow mucus, with a “light drizzle” of yellow mucus falling from the sky.
At the center of the space, countless viscous liquid pooled into a small yellow lake, in which a figure seemed to be sitting cross-legged…..
Just as Ronan wanted to see clearly the features of that figure, suddenly!
An overwhelming force, more than ten times more terrifying than the two Level 5 monsters beyond the gray wall earlier, erupted violently!
In that instant, Ronan felt as if his entire soul was being sucked in. The Life Light Ball that was quietly suspended within him flickered like flames blown by a fierce wind, with strands of life energy directly surging towards the other side through his spiritual power!
“Whoosh—”
Ronan abruptly disconnected the spiritual power probing the keyhole, his face pale as he staggered back a few steps in disarray.
An unmistakable expression of shock and horror surfaced in his eyes.
“What level is the strength of the figure inside?”
“Level 6?!”
“Or a terrifying existence beyond Level 6, above Dawn?!..
Ronan tightly pressed his lips, staring fixedly at the yellow-patterned small door for a long time, finally reassured that the dreadful and mysterious power indeed couldn’t seep out from inside the door. Only then did his mood gradually calm down.
For some unknown reason, at this moment, he suddenly felt that the place where he was wasn’t some maze.
But more like a prison!
All wizards trapped inside the maze, unable to escape, were prisoners within the prison.
The relatively strong ones roamed the corridors of the prison.
While the terrifyingly powerful were imprisoned in solitary cells.
Day after day, until the “sins” of their bodies were cleansed, finally dying in endless hopelessness and agony…..
“What did you just see?”
Molli’er grabbed his hand, asking with curiosity and doubt.
Ronan shook his head, not explaining, and just turned around to walk on.
His eyes narrowed slightly, no longer curious about any of the small doors on either side, but walked directly to the small door at the end of the passageway.
Ronan hesitated for a moment in front of the white door free of any patterns, ultimately making up his mind, and whispered a command to Molli’er beside him: “Hide behind me, and if anything happens… remember to run quickly!”
Molli’er was slightly startled, the corners of her mouth seemingly raised. Yet, she tilted her chin, letting out a feigned impatient “hmph” from her nose, then walked obediently behind him, sneakily poking half her head out from behind him to curiously gaze at the door.
Ronan picked up the Space Key in his hand, hesitated for half a second, before calmly inserting it into the lock of the small door, gently turning it.
“Click—”
Accompanied by the crisp sound of the silver lock turning, the small door before them creaked open automatically inward.
Soft white light streamed out from within, accompanied by the faint fluctuation of an array.
Ronan’s eyes flickered for a moment, stepping calmly into the doorway.
A pair of small hands quickly grasped his palm, following closely.
The next second, a slightly scorching gust of wind blew head-on.
Ronan felt as if he was standing on firm, dry ground, looking up to see a dazzling sun hanging in the sky.
Ronan suddenly heard a breath, unbearably heavy and vast.
He heard Molli’er’s short, low gasp, looked up, and was momentarily stunned by the sight before him.
——
An immense, towering black monster like a mountain stood beneath the sun, in the desert.
It had an incredibly large black bull head, with two massive, sharp horns curving upwards, the tips glinting with blinding red light, seemingly able to pierce the sun above.
In the center of its black eye sockets, unquenchable flames were fiercely burning, distorting the air wherever its gaze landed.
Its nostrils expelled surging smoke and sparks with each breath, capable of stirring up scorching gusts of wind over the ground, as heavy as the prelude to a volcanic eruption.
Scalding lava dripped from its mouth, sizzling on the ground, melting it into a pool of magma in an instant.
Beneath its head was an upright human body, limbs as robust as mountain pillars, with red hot magma flowing between the muscles, securely binding its neck and limbs with five immensely thick rune chains, causing massive metallic clashes with every slight movement…..
Rage, flames, destruction….
Symbols of the colossal Minotaur flashed repeatedly in Ronan’s mind, as he stood in the shadow cast by the Minotaur, momentarily forgetting to think.
Until the Minotaur heavily exhaled a breath filled with dense flames, issuing a deep resonant sound that shook the earth.
“Ready to answer Bab’s questions?
Insect!”
