Chapter 676: Chapter 323: How Many Stars Were There in the Ancient Times? Rules
The scorching sulfur-scented wind stirred up clouds of dust on the dry ground, causing the robes of Ronan and Molli’er to flutter.
Ronan tilted his head back, staring fixedly at the gigantic minotaur creature before him and heard the murmured words of Molli’er.
"Abyss... Bull Demon."
In the Minotaur’s labyrinth... there was actually an abyssal minotaur demon imprisoned here!
Ronan took a deep breath, instinctively stepping back two paces to avoid the spitting lava of the abyss bull demon in front of him.
He glanced around, trying to find clues or anything that might aid their current predicament.
Suddenly, Ronan’s gaze fixed on a certain spot, a slight flicker in his eyes.
Behind the massive form of the abyss bull demon stood a black stone cliff jutting outward, roughly at the bull demon’s waist.
At the top of the cliff stood a small blue light gate.
The labyrinth’s exit?!
Ronan instinctively turned his head, meeting Molli’er’s gaze. Molli’er had apparently also noticed the presence of the blue portal and was continuously making eye signals to Ronan.
"Answer me!"
"Boom!"
The thunderous voice like a pot reverberated above the two, as the abyss bull demon swung its enormous form irritably, causing all its chains to clatter noisily.
"Are you ready to answer Babri’s question?"
"So noisy!"
Molli’er covered her ears with her hands and complained, quickly walking to Ronan’s side.
"It looks like that’s the exit for the labyrinth..."
Ronan glanced at the distant blue portal.
Thinking for a moment, he released his spiritual power, and his body began to float, slowly rising into the air.
"As expected..."
Ronan’s eyes sparkled slightly. In this space where the sun still hung in the sky, the rule power prohibiting flight seemed much weaker than in the outer labyrinth corridors, allowing a level 4 wizard to barely levitate.
The concentration of free energy particles in the air was also slightly higher than in the labyrinth corridors.
Perhaps that’s why there were so few wizards able to find this place and enter this room.
Ronan elevated himself to the abyss bull demon’s chest height, gazing up at the flame-burning eyes.
"Babri!"
Ronan spoke, his calm and clear voice augmented by the spell’s vibration, spreading clearly in all directions.
"If we answer your question..."
Ronan pointed to the blue light gate on the cliff in the distance, "can we leave through that door?"
"Of course."
The abyss bull demon slightly shook its mountain-like massive head, responding in a thunderous voice, "If you can give the correct answer, you can safely leave from under Babri’s hands."
Large globs of lava-spit erupted from Babli’s mouth, hissing against the spiritual field surrounding Ronan.
Ronan didn’t mind, nodding and turned to beckon Molli’er, who reluctantly flew up.
"Ask your question."
When Molli’er arrived, Ronan looked at the abyss bull demon in front of him, speaking calmly.
"Then - I - ask - you—"
The abyss bull Babli, seeing that Ronan and Molli’er were ready, dragged out the tone of its voice, speaking again, shaking its head and giving an impression of not being very clever.
"How many stars are there in the Ancient Sky?"
The booming question from the minotaur made the void buzz, and Ronan’s expression froze when he heard it.
Before he could react, Molli’er had already blurted out: "Countless!"
"Wrong!"
"Boom—"
A gigantic bull head darted forward towards the two, its mouth opening wide, roaring out the word "Wrong."
A cacophony of sound waves erupted, accompanied by countless lava splashes. Molli’er screamed, as if drenched by the magma spit.
Although shielded by her force field, she was still scared, quickly retreating backward.
"Now it’s your turn..."
The abyss bull demon dismissed Molli’er with a "grunt," turning its head to focus on Ronan, speaking in a hoarse voice, "Give your answer."
Its grotesque and terrifying face loomed close to Ronan, yet Ronan’s expression remained unchanged.
"Wait a moment."
Ronan calmly shook his head, "Let me think a bit longer, I’ll tell you the answer soon."
Saying that, he turned and descended.
"Then you had better hurry... Lord Babli does not have much patience to wait."
The bull demon retracted its form, returning to its original stance.
Ronan landed lightly on the ground, as Molli’er was hitting herself frantically with a flame-enveloped short stick, like she’d really been showered with stinky bull demon spit.
"Enter the room, correctly answer the bull demon’s question, and you can leave through the blue light gate...
If you answer wrong, you’ll most likely be immediately driven away by the bull demon..
This must be the rule the Minotaur set for the labyrinth back then."
Ronan spoke.
Molli’er’s fair and smooth skin was getting red from rubbing, still unable to rid her mind of the disgust, and she frantically asked, "Do you know the answer?"
"No."
Ronan shook his head.
How many stars are there in the Ancient Sky?
```
It’s like trying to count how many hairs are on this stupid bull in front of me...it’s simply an unsolvable problem.
At least, Ronan can’t think of any absolutely correct answer.
"What do we do now?"
Ronan glanced at the blue light gate on the distant Black Stone Cliff and whispered, "It won’t do anything to us before I give my answer.
Maybe..."
Ronan flipped his palm, revealing a delicately silver-colored key, his eyes gleaming as he said, "We can try something else."
Molli’er’s hand stopped moving. She looked up at the massive Minotaur towering like a mountain, and then at Ronan, her expression slightly complex as she said, "Are you sure?"
"I have a method for short-distance space teleportation...maybe I can find a chance to evade it, reach the light gate, and open the exit...
Wait a moment, I’ll pretend to answer its question, then you...
Ronan put away the key in his hand, calmly looking at Molli’er, "Are you ready?"
Unexpectedly, Molli’er was somewhat hesitant at first, but as Ronan’s crazy plan was finalized, she instead showed an eager and excitable expression, maybe some people are born with genes of madness and adventure.
"Hurry up."
Molli’er gently tapped her palm with the short stick as if holding a baseball bat, her eyes locked onto the head of the Abyss Bull Demon, as if ready to avenge being sprayed with a mouthful of saliva.
Ronan didn’t waste any words, launching himself into the air, flying directly to a location very close to the Abyss Bull Demon, with the Black Stone Cliff almost within reach, just one step would suffice.
"Have you thought about how to answer Babri?"
The Minotaur scratched its ear with its hand, standing up from the ground like a mountain, once again leaning towards Ronan.
The scorching wind blowing head-on lifted the long hair at Ronan’s temples, he squinted and said, "Okay."
"Speak your answer!"
The Minotaur urged loudly.
Ronan gently breathed in and said word by word, "The total number of Ancient Sky Stars is...."
The Minotaur instinctively widened its eyes, leaning closer to Ronan, just waiting for him to announce the answer.
And at this moment....
"Boom!"
A magnificent blaze of crimson flames dyed the sky of the secret realm red, swiftly condensing into an enormous phantom of a staff.
Molli’er, her body ablaze, her eyes golden-red like a seductive witch emerging reborn from ashes, with an evil smile on her exquisite face, holding a beautiful feminine staff, appeared abruptly above the Minotaur’s head.
Then, aiming at the Minotaur’s slightly lowered head, she forcefully struck with the staff!
"Bang!"
The blazing sun hanging overhead seemed to grow three times hotter in an instant, and a violent and furious roar echoed through the sky.
Under the volcanic eruption-like fury, Ronan’s eyes flashed brilliantly as he stared intently at the blue light gate not far away.
"Now’s the time!"
Titanium swiftly adhered to Ronan’s entire body like mercury, then his whole being exploded with a "boom," splitting into seven or eight silvery figures rushing in all directions.
His true self mingled among the scattered figures, vanishing into thin air, heading towards the small gate....
A moment later.
"Bam!"
"Bam!"
Two heavy thuds added two large pits to the dry and solid ground.
"Pah-pah—" Molli’er leapt from the pit, continuously spitting out the sand she had ingested.
"Near the small gate...the spell isolation effect, even space magic is no exception!"
Ronan climbed out of the deep pit, his face somewhat grim.
"Roar—" A thunderous roar interrupted the exchange between the two, accompanied by the fierce sound of clanging chains, one heavy footstep after another echoed, shaking the ground.
"You foolish, cunning and vile insects...you have successfully angered Lord Babri! Roar!"
The Abyss Bull Demon, in a state of fury, had fiery red eyes, scorching flames gushing from its eye sockets, smoke spewing from its nostrils, as it strode towards them.
"Level six?!"
Like a mountain roaring and crushing towards them, feeling the suffocatingly terrifying pressure, Ronan’s face was solemn, his voice low.
"Not just that."
Molli’er shook her head, seeming quite certain, her face rarely turning serious.
A massive flaming bull hoof shattered the void, looming like a dark cloud, Ronan and Molli’er’s pupils narrowed, barely having time to think as they retreated swiftly.
"Boom!"
The pair narrowly evaded the terrifying bull hoof attack, as the burning bull hoof lifted, only leaving behind a bottomless lava pit where they had been.
"Under the rules, it can’t truly kill us as we are The Answerer...it can only drive us away, otherwise we would’ve been dead by now."
Ronan’s eyes glimmered, he said in a low voice.
"The gate!?"
Molli’er shouted beside him, with a bit of frustration and panic, searching around for the light gate they entered through.
At this moment, the fearsome bull hoof again whistled as it kicked towards the two.
Ronan, his expression calm, took up the Space Key in his hand and firmly stabbed it into the air.
"Buzz—"
An unusual wave spread out, the delicate Space Key suddenly dimmed, followed by countless light patterns appearing in the void, outlining the contour of a small gate.
The Space Key fit precisely into the keyhole.
Ronan gently twisted it, opened the light gate, and dashed inside with Molli’er.
