Lu Heng watched for a while before preparing to leave. The humans below were not of his kind, so he saw no need to save them.
In this world, if you can adapt and are strong enough, you can survive.
Conversely, for the weak, even if you save them once, there's no guarantee they'll survive much longer in this world.
After more than a year in the apocalypse, there were still a few ordinary humans among the more than twenty people below.
This was a rare sight nowadays.
In fact, if one didn't consider their weakness, and thought about it from another angle, surviving for so long as an ordinary person in the apocalypse was a miracle in itself.
However, just as Lu Heng was about to leave, someone below spotted him floating in mid-air.
"There's someone above!"
Foreigners' imaginations are often more expansive than those of their Chinese counterparts. Seeing Lu Heng floating in the air, they weren't overly surprised. Their shouting was a way to get Lu Heng's attention.
They knew that one more person meant one more force to resist the zombies.
And since Lu Heng could float, his abilities should be considerable. If such a person were drawn here, perhaps their chances of defeating the zombies and surviving today would be greater.
But Lu Heng, even after hearing them, paid no mind to the people below. With a thought, he controlled his aircraft and turned to leave.
Behind him were various human shouts, mixed with some curses, sounds that were eventually drowned out by the roars of the zombies.
Leaving the villa district, Lu Heng continued his search in other areas.
It wasn't until he left Country Y and drifted to an adjacent country that he saw a familiar scene.
Zombies were moving on the ground. Although their numbers were not large, they were easily identifiable. These zombies had also been attracted.
The zombies were not fast. Lu Heng followed them and soon discovered their gathering place.
Here, Lu Heng not only saw a large number of zombies again but also discovered a massive object that did not belong to Blue Star.
This must be an alien spaceship!
Like other regions, with no human intervention, all the plants here were growing wildly.
Moreover, after more than a year of development, the plants had mutated. Even the inconspicuous low-lying plants of the past were now over a person tall.
Trees and plants that could naturally grow very tall had no obstructions and had become even more dense and towering.
The zombies weaved through the ubiquitous plants. They didn't need to see where they were going, so these plants were not an obstacle to their movement.
However, the weeds along the path were constantly trampled by the numerous zombies, and in some places, new paths had been trodden out.
Around the massive spaceship, the plants had been constantly walked on by a large number of zombies, clearing a circular area without obstruction.
If not for the zombies trampling the ground, Lu Heng might not have discovered the spaceship so quickly.
The spaceship was entirely black, and it didn't reflect sunlight.
The spaceship's design was unique, making it clear at a glance that it was not a product of Blue Star.
However, there was no barrier outside this spaceship, leaving it exposed to the open environment.
Of course, some climbing plants had grown through the gaps between the spaceship and the ground, covering the exterior of the ship.
Lu Heng circled the spaceship in the air.
There were no weapons on the alien spaceship that attacked him.
Lu Heng slowly approached the spaceship. When he stood on its outer shell, the spaceship remained silent.
It seemed this spaceship had suffered severe damage, rendering even its defense systems inoperable.
With this realization, Lu Heng began searching the exterior for an entrance.
Lu Heng was somewhat surprised. The teleportation point built by the previous robot on the human architectural foundation was located in Country Y, which was quite far from this alien spaceship.
He didn't understand why the robot hadn't built the teleportation point near the spaceship. He had observed from high above that there were also many human structures in this vicinity.
The zombies below were still milling around the spaceship. Perhaps there were alien creatures inside, or even the corpses of alien beings.
All of this Lu Heng would only know after entering the spaceship.
However, after searching for a long time, Lu Heng found no entrance on the exterior of the spaceship.
After a moment's thought, Lu Heng took out his communicator and flew around the spaceship once more.
Fortunately, holding the communicator proved effective. At a location that showed no signs of an interface, a door automatically opened.
This was some distance from the ground.
Lu Heng entered the spaceship through the opened gap. The moment he stepped inside, the lights in the internal passage of the spaceship suddenly illuminated, and the door behind him closed automatically.
Lu Heng looked at the smooth passage extending forward. The lights illuminating the passage were similar to those he had discovered in the spatial dimensions.
Lu Heng held the alien communicator. As long as he had this, most of the automatic doors here would likely open.
Judging by the lights in the passage, the power supply system here was functional.
However, it was also possible that the power source for the lighting system and the power source for the spaceship's startup system were separate.
Lu Heng piloted his aircraft through the spaceship. As he moved, the lights ahead were sensed and activated in advance.
After passing through a long passage, Lu Heng arrived at a fork in the road, where six more passages extended inward.
Lu Heng, based on the spaceship's exterior shape he had observed from above and the route he had taken in the passage, determined a direction and proceeded.
After walking along the passage for a short distance, Lu Heng passed through several doors and arrived in a spacious hall.
There were many platforms raised above the ground. Lu Heng walked to the nearest platform and realized it was likely a control console.
However, there was no operating panel on the console, only a crystal-like object embedded in the metal.
Lu Heng instinctively waved his hand over the crystal. As expected, the crystal seemed to sense something and a projection screen popped up.
It displayed symbols that Lu Heng couldn't understand.
Lu Heng felt a pang of regret. He should have studied the materials given to him by Bona first; perhaps then he would have been able to understand some of the symbols here upon discovering this spaceship.
Walking to the other platforms, Lu Heng was certain that this was a control room.
However, there were no transparent windows in the entire room; the walls were all metal.
This was somewhat different from what he had seen in sci-fi movies. Lu Heng recalled that in some foreign sci-fi blockbusters, the control rooms of alien spaceships typically had a large window at the front, allowing a view of the outside scenery.
After all, when landing or taking off, a spaceship would need to see the external conditions to descend, not just blind-landing without knowing what it might hit on the ground.
