Chapter 188, Total Annihilation_1

Chapter 188: Chapter 188, Total Annihilation_1

Jiang Chen was startled. Is this the Vampire clan’s transformation skill?

It looked quite intimidating.

Severus exclaimed, "A Vampire! You’re actually a Vampire!"

"Hmph! Accept the Vampire clan’s Sanction!"

WHOOSH...

A shadow flitted by. Muriel transformed into an afterimage as she charged forward, her right hand wielding a Short Sword, and thrust it at Severus.

Severus quickly retreated. "Hmph! Not even First-stage Blood Clan. Do you really think you’re strong? Let me show you what the Divine race is all about!"

Severus drove his sword into the ground.

A beam of light appeared before him, blocking Muriel’s attack.

"I forgot to tell you, I’m a Paladin. I have plenty of ways to deal with your kind."

Severus raised his giant sword high.

Radiant light shone on Muriel, causing her to emit a white glow. Muriel retreated several paces, her face darkening. "Damn it! He’s a Paladin! The light hurt me!"

Jiang Chen chuckled. "Your class isn’t all that impressive, huh!"

"Don’t underestimate me! I’m just being countered by him. I’m still very strong!" Muriel pouted.

Jiang Chen could only think, Strong? Yeah, right! A single Paladin took you down.

Fortunately, Muriel wasn’t truly harmed. As a Divine Envoy, she was immune to ninety-nine percent of damage, so this minor injury posed no real danger to her.

Alice revealed her status. "Kid, we’re Divine Envoys! You dare attack a Divine Envoy?"

The men looked at Alice’s Divine Envoy badge and burst out laughing.

"A Divine Envoy? So what? Do you think you can run rampant in the Xileruo World just because you’re a Divine Envoy?"

"I thought you were Divine Envoys from the Xileruo World itself! Only Divine Envoys native to the Xileruo World are immune to damage. Haven’t you noticed your Divine Envoy badge is gray?"

"Haha, that’s hilarious! A bunch of country bumpkins think they’re hot stuff just because they became Divine Envoys in some backwater world. Only Divine Envoys *from* the Xileruo World are immune to damage. Here, you’re just ordinary Divine Envoys, nothing special!"

Faced with their derisive laughter, Jiang Chen looked at Alice’s Divine Envoy badge. It was indeed gray.

It seemed these men were telling the truth. Only those who became Divine Envoys within the Xileruo World gained damage immunity there.

Long Zhantian had never told them this.

In fact, Gregory Arlin had once told Jiang Chen that being a Divine Envoy wasn’t all that special. The ninety-nine percent damage immunity only worked in their original world; upon entering the Xileruo World, it became ineffective.

"Then it’s my turn," Jiang Chen said.

Jiang Chen glanced at the men beside Severus and casually unleashed One Sword.

Sword Blade - Storm!

When the white Sword Qi penetrated the Hero, he was instantly run through by a thousand Sword Auras. His body, riddled with holes, collapsed to the ground, dead.

A large pool of blood spread out where he fell.

The area fell silent. None of them understood how Jiang Chen had attacked.

They had only seen a flash of white light, and then their companion was dead.

Jiang Chen raised his sword again.

Sword Qi Break!

Instantly, he killed another person. This one was even more gruesome, pierced by ten thousand Sword Auras, his entire body reduced to a pile of mangled flesh.

A Hero died right before Severus’s eyes. It was an utter annihilation; the man’s body had become a pile of shredded meat.

Severus couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Who the hell is this guy?

The remaining men were stupefied, instinctively backing away.

Sword Array!

A Barrier enveloped an area of a hundred meters. The remaining men died one by one under Jiang Chen’s assault, leaving only Severus, who was trembling uncontrollably.

They’re all dead? All of them? Severus thought in horror. What kind of terrifying Phantom Class is this?!

Severus’s eyes were wide with terror, the Great Sword in his hands trembling.

"You... What Class are you?"

"Alright. Hand over the Red Dragon’s Heart Crystal, and I’ll let you go."

Severus didn’t actually possess any more Red Dragon’s Heart Crystal. The small piece he’d shown was his only one; it was all a ruse to lure in Heroes, especially newcomers like Jiang Chen’s group, who had just arrived from lesser worlds.

"Sir, I... I don’t have it."

"You don’t? Then, my apologies."

A hundred Sword Auras instantly pierced through Severus.

Jiang Chen clapped his hands. "Alright, we should get going."

"Jiang Chen, you were too fast! We don’t even know where we are now," one of his companions said.

"Don’t worry. I made sure to leave one Teleporter alive. This place isn’t a one-way portal; they just shut it down."

The seven of them turned to see a Teleporter quaking in fear.

"I... I’m not with them! I’m just the tavern’s Teleporter! I only helped them shut down the portal!"

"I’m not going to kill you, so what are you worried about? Activate the Teleportation Array. We need to go back."

"Understood!"

The Teleporter didn’t dare hesitate and immediately activated the Teleportation Array. The group stepped in and departed.

The Teleporter breathed a sigh of relief. Who exactly were these seven people? Especially that man... how could he be so formidable? Severus was a Second-stage Expert, yet he died just like that! What world did this guy even come from?

Jiang Chen had one foot in the Teleportation Array when, with his next movement, he killed the Teleporter with One Sword.

The Teleporter, in his final moments, probably thought: No honor! You said you wouldn’t kill me!

Jiang Chen sighed. "It was the sword that killed you, not me."

With that said, he turned and stepped into the Teleportation Array.

The group left the tavern’s vicinity.

Jiang Qiu remarked, "It seems our status as Divine Envoys isn’t as significant as we thought!"

"Yeah, I really thought we’d be immune to all damage from Heroes!" Alice added.

"Turns out, we’re only immune to ninety-nine percent of damage in our own world," Muriel mused.

"Then it’s not very useful, is it!"

Jiang Chen said, "How could it be useless?"

"What use is it then?"

"Well, you could become Divine Envoys in the Xileruo World. You’re all First-stage now. Later, you can apply for a transfer from our world. Wouldn’t that solve the problem for being here?"

The others laughed.

"Hmm, that’s actually not a bad idea."

"But how would we even arrange a transfer from here?"

"Exactly. I doubt Long Zhantian has the authority for that, does he?"

The group exchanged glances.

Jiang Chen chuckled. "No need to worry. Let me contact Gregory Arlin first. She’s my superior now. I’ll ask her."

Jiang Chen took out a Badge. It was the one Gregory Arlin had given him, functioning much like a phone for communication. Before Gregory Arlin left, she had told Jiang Chen to use this Badge to contact her once he reached the Xileruo World.

Now that Jiang Chen had arrived in the Xileruo World, it was the perfect time to contact Gregory Arlin.

A voice came from the Badge: "What? You’ve reached the Xileruo World?"

"Yes," Jiang Chen replied.

"Wait right there. I’ll come find you."

"Alright."

Soon, Gregory Arlin emerged from a Teleportation Array. Seeing Jiang Chen and his companions, she smiled. "You made it! Come on, follow me back to the Gregory Family. I’m in the middle of raising a pet!"

Jiang Chen nodded and followed Gregory Arlin.

Jiang Chen asked, "Arlene, I’d like for them to become Divine Envoys of the Xileruo World."

Arlene looked surprised. "Become Divine Envoys of the Xileruo World?"

"Yes. Just a little while ago, we were ambushed by a group. It seems our Divine Envoy status doesn’t work here at all!"

"Of course, it doesn’t! You’re Divine Envoys from a lesser world. Naturally, that status is useless in our world. Once you enter the Xileruo World, you’re essentially no different from Ordinary Heroes."

"However, becoming Divine Envoys in the Xileruo World... that’s not something I can decide. The Xileruo World is vast, and many Clans compete for each Position of the Divine Envoy."

Jiang Chen asked, "Are there any conditions?"

Arlene glanced back. "You are already Divine Envoys, so you just need to submit an application. I can forward it to the Alliance of All-Gods for their decision. However, the chances are very slim. It’s rare for outsiders to become Divine Envoys in the Xileruo World."

"So, there is a chance?" Jiang Chen pressed.

Arlene nodded. "There is."

Arlene explained, "Our entire world is governed by 99 Clans, and there are 99 seats in the Alliance of All-Gods. The Positions of the Divine Envoys are decided by their council vote."

"For the five of them to become Divine Envoys here will be very difficult, but not impossible. Our Gregory Clan can submit the application, but..."

Arlene trailed off, not finishing her sentence.
