Chapter 75: Chapter 75: ‘Cash For Crash’ (Bonus Chapter)

"This was my dad’s graduation gift.

It cost him about four hundred grand. I also thought it was a bit too much, but he insisted on buying it for me, he said as long as I liked it, the price didn’t matter to him.

Honestly, he is always been that good to me."

Shiv sighed as if it was not his intention to buy such a expensive car, though he could not hide the smug look on his face.

Four years of waiting was this finally his chance?

What no one knew was that he had begged his father relentlessly for the Mercedes, until the man finally gave in just to shut him up.

——

Just as Shiv was trying to showcase his family wealth and was just beginning to brag, at that time outside the market place, a new Volkswagen Passat pulled up, though outdated it is still was a luxury of its time.

From the outside of the market Priyanshi tried to look at the driver, trying to see the owner of the car.

Only for her too see at the time when the driver leaned on the horn.

Beep, beep!

The horn was so loud that Shiv get caught in the middle of his brag and he tripped over so hard on his own feet and landed hard on the floor.

"Ah—damn it! Who just honks like that in the middle of the road?"

The fall knocked the wind out of him, and his backside screamed in pain.

Grimacing due to the pain, he scrambled up and stormed out to confront the driver.

But the moment he reached the car, the door swung open and smacked him square in the face.

And then what else can happen?

Down he went again... for the second time.

From the Passat stepped Alex in his security guard uniform, apparently he didn’t have the time to change his clothes from the change of shifts.

Also despite having so many new cars after his recent rise to the riches, he also felt that it is one thing to own a luxury car, and another thing to showcase it.

Whenever he tried to travel somewhere people eyes follow him constantly.

Making him too much an eyesore in the crowd, so he brought most cheap car from his recent car collections Volkswagen Passat, while it is not cheap at all by normal standards, it also does not lie on the high end of cars.

He waved casually toward Priyanshi and her friend, smiling politely completely oblivious to the Shiv writhing on the ground.

"Huh?" Alex looked down after nearly stepping on something. To his surprise, it was a person.

"...Seriously?" he muttered, shaking his head. "Who tried to do the ’cash for crash’ in this broad daylight?

And right under the market’s security cameras, too. What a fool."

Priyanshi and Navya looked at each other and burst out laughing.

Shiv staggered upright, his face red with both embarrassment and rage. "A fool? You think I’m pulling a fool? How dare you!"

He had barely started showing off his new Mercedes, and within minutes he had been flattened twice, by a guy driving an old Volkswagen.

His expensive suit was scuffed, his pride shattered.

It was unbearable for him.

During his years in college and schools, Shiv has never know what his family’s do for a living, not he cared to know when his every wish was being fullfied.

Only after graduation did he discover his father was actually the CEO of a publicly listed company.

When Shiv heard this news, excitement overwhelmed him.

He immediately began to imagine the luxury lifestyle ahead and couldn’t wait to ask his father to buy him a Mercedes-Benz to show off.

Sudden wealth transformed his attitude. From an ordinary student to the son of a powerful executive, Shiv pride inflated.

He believed his moment to shine in front of others had come.

Yet before he could finish flaunting his new status, his pride collapsed.

A guy wearing a security guard uniform, driving an old Volkswagen at that, managed to embarrass him, leaving his carefully planned moment in ruins.

Shiv’s face darkened so much as he noticed the dirt on his expensive suit.

His mood soured even further when his arrogance failed to earn him the respect he expected.

"Security guy, let’s go," Priyanshi said to Alex, ignoring Shiv completely.

"Alright," Alex nodded he started the car and just as he prepared to drive away with her...

"Wait a minute!" Shiv called, abandoning his showy Mercedes-Benz plan.

He quickly stepped forward blocking Alex’s car before they could leave.

"What are you doing? Do you want to die?" Priyanshi asked, her brows furrowed with irritation.

She clearly wasn’t in the mood to deal with him anymore.

"It just so happens I also need to head to Khapar Law Firm," Shiv said smoothly. "Why not go together?"

He rolled his eyes inwardly, knowing this wasn’t the right time to reveal his trump card.

Showing everything at once would spoil the surprise he carefully planned.

Shiv believed surprises needed to be released in steps, each moment building upon the last.

Only then could he craft the perfect impression in front of Priyanshi.

Back in college, Shiv had observed Priyanshi closely from afar.

He knew her well, perhaps too well. She had her own pride and wasn’t someone who could be swayed easily.

She was intelligent too always top of her class, and proud of her achievements.

Shiv realized long ago that such a woman would never be won over by common shallow tricks or fleeting gestures.

Still, things had changed.

Before, as a common man’s son, he felt unworthy and hopeless in pursuing her.

But now he finally understood the power of his own family background.

Confidence surged within him.

And hidden in his hands was still his ultimate trump card, one he had yet to reveal.

Once he used it, he believed for sure that Priyanshi would be surely his in no time.
