Chapter 19 Helped Her

What a close call! Falling down there would have meant injury, if not death! Lan Yan looked gratefully at Jun Yelan, a smile forming on her lips. It seemed her rescue plan was quite effective.

Jun Yelan's expression remained cold. Seeing Lan Yan grinning foolishly at him, he didn't look away.

Lan Yan paid no mind to Jun Yelan's cold demeanor, knowing his heart was warm. She smiled, "Jun Yelan, thank you!" She turned her head, holding the flowers, and continued to hang them on the treetop.

This time, she was careful, standing steadily on the ladder, holding on with one hand and reaching up with the other. Unfortunately, her arms were too short. She had to settle for hanging them in a slightly lower spot.

As she hung the flowers, her little face scrunched up, a clear expression of unhappiness.

Just then, the snake-like vine at her waist loosened, tossed the flower she was holding, and hung it directly at the highest point.

Lan Yan's eyes instantly lit up, her face beaming with joy. She looked down, but Jun Yelan had already turned to leave. She quickly climbed down and hurried to catch up with him, patting his shoulder and calling out, "Jun Yelan, you're really a good person."

Jun Yelan froze. The shoulder she had touched felt warm. Moreover, this was the first time anyone had called him a good person, especially not from Lan Yan.

He subtly clenched his fist. He was far from a good person.

To survive, he had done many things that Lan Yan, as the legitimate daughter of a general's mansion, could never comprehend. He did not reply, walking straight ahead.

Lan Yan was in a good mood today, so she let him be. She asked Chun Tao, "Is there anything else needed for the Flower Festival?"

Chun Tao replied, "Miss, we need to prepare a meal using flowers as ingredients." Seeing Lan Yan in a dilemma, she added, "Miss, you can do it with the Second Miss and the others. Each person makes a dish, which would make things much easier."

"Chun Tao, that's a brilliant idea. Let's do that!" Lan Yan smiled and headed to the kitchen, happily starting to cook.

Chun Tao breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at her young lady, she truly seemed different now. She walked to the adjacent courtyard to inform Lan Ya.

In the kitchen, Lan Yan crushed the flower petals, kneaded them into the flour, and then put the mixture into flower-shaped molds. After baking, a dish was completed.

She said with a smile, "System, I feel like I'm really capable now. Just you wait, I will definitely succeed in saving Jun Yelan."

"Understood, Host. Please continue to be so confident," the system replied softly. If the host was energetic, then he, as the system, was naturally pleased.

Lan Yan smiled and nodded, taking the dish out and placing it on the table in the hall.

At the same time, Lan Ya, accompanied by her three younger siblings, also arrived, carrying a food basket. Upon seeing the dishes on the table, their first reaction was that Chun Tao had made them. They exclaimed, "Chun Tao, your culinary skills have improved again."

After all, their eldest sister had never gone to the kitchen before.

Chun Tao shook her head, "It wasn't me. This dish today was personally made by Miss."

At this, the four younger siblings were stunned simultaneously, turning to look at Lan Yan. So their eldest sister could cook!

Lan Yan felt a bit embarrassed and smiled, "Please sit down, have a taste first." She sat beside Jun Yelan, deliberately moving her dish closer to him, not missing any opportunity to build good impression.

Lan Ya looked at Xiao Yi and the others, "You are young, eat first."

Xiao Wen and Xiao Wu glanced at each other, neither reaching out. This was the first time they had seen their eldest sister's cooking. Although the presentation was beautiful, they wondered if it would taste good.

They turned their heads and stared at Xiao Yi.

Xiao Yi, being the youngest, slowly reached out her hand, then paused as she neared the plate. She swallowed, thinking she should give her eldest sister face, and was about to take a piece when someone else reached it first.
