Chapter 47 United Effort to Send Gifts

Lan Yan looked up and saw a soldier standing in front of her, a wicked smile on his face. She clicked her tongue and took out five or six packets of powder from her sleeve.

She hadn't been staying at the military medical office for nothing these days, and there was also what Divine Doctor Lin had left her.

The scout, not understanding what was happening, rushed at Lan Yan, seeing she had no weapon. "As long as you don't scream, I won't hit you."

"Heh," Lan Yan sneered. "Unfortunately, those words are for you." She directly threw a packet of powder.

The scout immediately clutched his eyes, crying out, "Ah, my eyes!"

The next instant, his back of the head took a fist.

Lan Yan blew on her hand and raised an eyebrow, "Done."

Jun Yelan, who was arranging soldiers outside the tent, heard the sound and rushed into the tent. Seeing Lan Yan safe and sound, he breathed a sigh of relief. His gaze fell on the scout on the ground, his eyes turning cold.

Lan Yan smiled, "This must be someone the Crown Prince arranged. Ask him if we can get anything out of him!" She hadn't expected such an unexpected gain today.

Anger surged in Jun Yelan's eyes. The damned Crown Prince actually dared to lay hands on his people. He would grind this person into dust! He coldly stepped on the scout's hand and said icily, "Speak!"

The scout was frightened by Jun Yelan's coldness. He turned and saw Lan Yan smiling at him, but that smile sent shivers down his spine. He couldn't help but swallow, his throat suddenly unable to make a sound.

Seeing that the man dared to look at Lan Yan, Jun Yelan shot a hidden weapon, which landed on the scout's eyeball.

Another piercing scream came from the tent as the scout truly became blind. Blood covered his face, and he trembled as he shouted, "General, spare me. I was just following the Crown Prince's orders and don't know anything else."

Jun Yelan remained expressionless.

Hearing no response, the scout continued, "This was just my first mission! The Crown Prince ordered me to kill... to kill her. But I didn't get a chance before I was taken down."

"Very good," Jun Yelan increased the pressure under his foot. "If I don't send him a big gift in return, I'll be letting down his arrangements." He looked outside the tent and shouted, "Guards, find all the scouts in the army for me, no matter who they are."

He had been away for too long, and it was inevitable that some people might have developed disloyalties.

The deputy general had been waiting outside the tent and went to apprehend the suspects upon hearing the order. The general's informants were spread throughout the entire army; they hadn't been dealt with before to be used.

But now that these people had offended the general, they had no reason to exist any longer.

Jun Yelan dragged the scout out and, facing thousands of soldiers, shouted, "Soldiers, this is a spy sent by the enemy camp to assassinate your general."

He couldn't push Lan Yan into the limelight.

"Tonight, I will use them to sacrifice to our military banner and the fallen souls." With that, he beheaded the scout.

The head rolled onto the ground, revealing its terrified face.

The soldiers cheered. They were fighting bravely, and these people dared to hinder them, so they deserved to die!

Next, Jun Yelan looked at the ten people who had been captured, and sneered. "I overestimated the Crown Prince's capabilities." He swung his sword, killing the ninth person and resting his blade on the tenth person's neck.

A foul odor emanated from beneath the tenth person, who begged, "General, I don't want to die."

"You want to live." Jun Yelan's tone was cold. "Then I'll give you this chance. Take the eyeballs of these ten people back and tell the Crown Prince that I will come for his life soon."

Since he dared to target Lan Yan, he did not deserve to live in this world.

The scout nodded tremblingly, picked up a bag with shaking hands, and stood up. His legs trembled, and it took him a long time to walk steadily.

"Wait a moment." Lan Yan, who had been watching all along with a smile, took out a packet of powder and sprinkled it into the bag. "There. Go."

The scout dared not look up, feeling that the person in front of him was as terrifying as Jun Yelan.

Lan Yan hopped over to Jun Yelan and chuckled, "Heh heh, the Crown Prince won't be sleeping soundly tonight."

"Mm." Jun Yelan was unconcerned about the Crown Prince and gently clasped Lan Yan's hand beside him. "It's too cold outside, let's go inside." He led Lan Yan into the tent.

The scout had already arrived at the Crown Prince's camp. After his identity was verified, he walked in, trembling all over. He looked at the Crown Prince, who was fiddling with a ring, and shouted, "Your Highness, this is for you."

He handed over the bloody bag.

A guard beside him took it and passed it to the Crown Prince.

The Crown Prince curved his lips and said with a sinister smile, "Now Jun Yelan must be despairing again. Hahaha!" As he laughed, his smile froze the moment he opened the bag.

"How could this be! Where is that woman!" He threw the bag away in anger, only to realize his palm had turned black and his head felt groggy. "It's poison! Kill him at once!"

The guards stepped forward and killed the last scout.

Meanwhile, the Crown Prince's body began to tremble uncontrollably, his lips turning purple. He roared, "Find a military doctor quickly and detoxify me!" With that, he fainted.

Chaos erupted in the camp.

On the other side, Jun Yelan naturally received the news. The anger in his eyes subsided slightly. He would not let the Crown Prince die so easily.

He dismissed the deputy general who had reported the news and turned to Lan Yan. "He won't recover."

"He can't, I mixed the poisons together." Lan Yan looked at the sewn fur in her hand and then at Jun Yelan. Making clothes still required taking measurements.

She picked up a string from the embroidery hoop and stood in front of Jun Yelan, saying, "Lift your hand."

A hint of confusion appeared in Jun Yelan's eyes, but he still followed her request and spread his hands.

Lan Yan leaned in slightly, placing the string along Jun Yelan's arm. She noted the length and said, "This should be enough." She moved the string down, placing it around Jun Yelan's waist, and muttered, "Quite slender."

Hearing this, Jun Yelan merely smiled. However, when Lan Yan's hand touched his lower back, his eyes deepened, and he grabbed her hand.

Lan Yan blinked. "Wait a moment, I haven't finished measuring. Lower your head." She thought Jun Yelan was tired and was holding her hand. As Jun Yelan lowered his head, she looped the string around his neck.

At such close proximity, she could feel Jun Yelan's hot breath on her cheek. Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she quickly finished, stepping back three paces. "All done."

She walked towards the bed, but was suddenly scooped up from behind. She stammered, "What... what are you doing?"

Jun Yelan placed Lan Yan on the edge of the bed, tidying away the fur and needlework. "It's late, and you said it would hurt your eyes before. You've forgotten about yourself. Get some rest quickly."

He leaned down and saw that Lan Yan had already closed her eyes, a faint smile on his lips. He simply tapped Lan Yan's forehead, then stood up and went to the nearby desk.

Lan Yan's little heart pounded wildly as she lay dazed on the bed.
