Chapter 587: Crazy Zhang Mingli

Fu Shu never thought Zhang Mingli would go after the Ji Gods. For him, one’s conscience was the least important thing. However, that was the first thing Zhang Mingli aimed to regain.

“Don’t you think Zhang Mingli is dumb? The five Ji Gods are extremely strong. He might end up injuring himself in the process.” Fu Shu didn’t get it.

“Didn’t you say Zhang Mingli came from Dream’s mind? Perhaps he’s worried that he might become the next Dream. Therefore, he needs his conscience to restrain himself.” Wandering malice actively went searching for his conscience. This proved that Zhang Mingli was not a bad person. Gao Ming was intrigued by this man. “Perhaps he is a true gentleman.” His impression of Zhang Mingli increased.

The bloody rain never ceased. The road became muddy. The evil aura slowly rose. The night darkened. The path that led to Dream Break Town had more animal prints. There were more abandoned graves by the road. Since Gao Ming spawned in one of those graves, he paid them a lot of attention. “Fu Shu, why do the graves appear larger after the bloody rain fell on them? Will the buried dead return?”

“After I was captured, Immortal Pharma added a lot of new things to Dream Break Town. I haven’t encountered this before myself.” Fu Shu looked at the graves and sighed, “Can you imagine this was originally a life sim?”

Gao Ming ignored Fu Shu. He stopped when he was several ten metres away from Dream Break Town. Many weasel skins hung on the pillars outside of the town. They looked serious when they died. They were animals but appeared like enlightened monks.

“Did they try to sneak into Dream Break Town during the chaos? They sure are courageous.” Fu Shu scoffed.

“It was not the butcher who skinned them. Someone else had conflicts with them.” Gao Ming glanced at the skins. The skins were not sliced, but the flesh exploded from within. The wounds were extremely uneven. The broken organs mixed with the blood. Avoiding the bloody skins, Gao Ming returned to Dream Break Town. The pillars appeared larger. The buildings in town started to gain strange characters. They looked like curses.

“Little brother, the Yin energy is thick. Don’t go wandering around.” A hollow voice came from the corner. An old lady with a hunchback walked out carrying a broken bowl. Her head was lowered. “Are you here to escape the tragedy? Three copper coins, and I’ll lead you to safety.”

Gao Ming ignored her. The old lady slowly stood up. A rustling sound came from her bowl. “Your blood aura is strong. You’ll be caught soon. Why not be my friend? Little brother, don’t worry. My kids will only eat flesh. They will not harm your brain. They will only use your head as their playground.” The bowl tipped over. Gu worms crawled out. They looked horrifying.

“There are monsters everywhere. The order has fully crumbled.” Gao Ming took out the knife and fed it with his blood. When he was about to make a move, Fu Shu whispered in his ear, “Stop! You need to run!”

“Is she that scary?” Gao Ming narrowed his eyes. He and the God of Flesh and Blood sensed something from the alley behind the old woman at the same time. A strange divine figurine made from mud stood in the alley. It wasn’t there earlier.

“The butcher’s knife?” The old lady still hadn’t sensed the figurine. Her wrinkles collapsed together. Her smile was ugly. “Kid, I might be scared if you’re the real butcher…”

Gao Ming carefully retreated. The lady thought that Gao Ming was afraid of her. However, she noticed that Gao Ming and Fu Shu were staring behind her. “Are you trying to trick me?” Despite that, the old lady turned back. A head made from mud stared at her. The divine figurine had sneaked up to her. Her soul almost escaped her body. The old lady backed away, but the figurine had already latched onto her. Two muddy arms grabbed her body. Children's heads poked out of the figurine and crawled into the old lady.

“What kind of creature are you? Back off!” The old lady screamed. The welt on her back exploded, and a lot of worms crawled out. They drilled into the figurine, but the figurine ignored the Gu poison.

The children’s eyes shone with resentment and confusion. They wanted to shred the lady into pieces.

The scenario was horrifying. Gao Ming used this chance to retreat. Dream Break Town had become extremely dangerous.

“Those children were sacrifices made by the villagers to the Gods. Someone had gathered the resentment of the children and shoved it into the mud figurine. This thing is hostile towards the Gods. We better stay away from them.” Fu Shu saw familiar curses in the mud figurine. The figurine was probably made by Zhang Mingli. Gao Ming noticed that Zhang Mingli was not fighting alone. Despite all odds, he found allies.

“The old lady was the town’s Yong God. She’s an expert in Gu and poisons. The livestock was prepared by the butcher. The human sacrifice had to be examined by the old lady. She was very specific about the sacrifice. She prefers youngsters and innocent children.” Fu Shu whispered, “The children had no idea what would happen to them when they were caged up by the old lady inside her urns. The urns contained her worms. The screams of the children would make the feast more delicious for the Gods. The worms also keep the sacrifice fresh.”

The existing incident was the complete opposite. The figurine was like a giant urn and trapped the old lady and her worms in it. She struggled and screamed. In just a few minutes, the old lady was enveloped by the figurine. After her voice disappeared, a Gu pattern appeared on the figurine. The figurine also had a clearer face.

A lullaby came out of the figurine’s stomach. The children opened their eyes. They came to the village entrance and crawled into the weasel’s bloody skins.

The murky eyes flipped open. The dead weasels climbed up. They chanted a sutra that contained Zhang Mingli’s name. Their claws carved curses around the town.

“Is Zhang Mingli planning to curse the whole town? Has he cooperated with the ghosts and monsters outside of town?”
