Chapter 114: Lovely Reunion?
Hiroshi stood behind the door of Haruki’s study and took a deep breath before knocking lightly. He got no response after the first knock and he turned to look at Kiyoshi skeptically.
Kiyoshi who was prepared to leave confirmed that Haruki was inside with a casual nod and left. Hiroshi knocked again, a bit louder and a response came from inside. He could feel his heart racing pounding hard against its protection.
He didn’t bother to hold back the urge he felt to touch his chest and inhale deeply hoping to calm his hyperactive heart. He blew out the air in his lungs from his slightly parted lips and pushed the door open.
His beauty. The most beautiful human in his universe was separated from him by the door but that fear of losing the chance he got in this lifetime to be with the man would be gone forever. He swallowed and stepped inside. Haruki was lounging casually on a sofa with a book his gaze was focused on.
Haruki’s beautiful side view felt like a picture one he felt tempted so badly to pull out his phone to record. He wanted to keep this with him forever, especially with the thought of the possible impending doom of his love life with the man.
He closed the door behind him and paused. He felt at that moment that another hasty step forward and he would be sprinting towards Haruki and would pull the man into his embrace, kiss his soft warm lips, and tighten the hug while not bothering to restrain his hands from naughty crawling under the fabric of his sweatshirt.
He had to calm down as much as he could after all, he was not sure if the contract was still valid with his absence for so long. He knew his absence was not against their agreement but Haruki still had the right to end the relationship whenever he wanted and his absence could have led to that.
He swallowed the lump slowly forming in his throat and when it refused to go down, he cleared his throat and this caught Haruki’s attention. Haruki raised his gaze and slightly turned his head to the doctor.
His beautiful obsidian eyes widened a bit almost unnoticeably before he moved his gaze back to the book he held, the doctor’s presence completely ignored afterwards.
Hiroshi didn’t know what to expect as he had several possibilities on his mind before he walked into the room but he had not thought of Haruki ignoring his presence for what felt like eternity he wanted desperately to end.
He thought of the most natural thing to do. He sincerely wished he could confess to the cold man ignoring him, perhaps then he would get the man’s attention and that would be good enough, right?
However, what that response would be was the only thing holding him back from going down that route. Haruki would probably get his guards to drag him out if he acts too hastily.
It no other choice than to push that thought down, he bowed as he offered Haruki a respectful greeting, one appropriate for a subordinate to his boss. This time, Haruki looked at him longer and gave him a nod before his gaze moved back to his book.
He looked at the title of the book and remembered meeting the writer once in a conference the tiny strand of rationality he had left at the moment was what held him back from cursing the writer.
What could he have written about business that had Haruki so focused on so much that his presence mattered less? He wanted Haruki to focus on him, the words he had to say rather than the words of that old man regardless of how successful the man was.
There was a knock on the door before Hiroshi could think of some other way to get Haruki’s attention. Kiyoshi had come to announce that lunch was ready and served.
Haruki finally put the book away and stood up. Kiyoshi closed the door after saying his piece and confirming Haruki heard him clearly.
He walked past the door that stood frozen in his spot in confusion. When he noticed the doctor didn’t move or turn, he stopped and looked back at the doctor.
Haruki’s voice was so close, the subtle manly scent of his cologne invading his olfactory senses, he closed his eyes savouring the feeling when Haruki had simply told him to follow him.
He turned swiftly and caught Haruki’s wrist. He didn’t come to eat, he came to beg and although holding Haruki’s wrist wasn’t the best way to go about it, he still gave in to that yearning to touch Haruki.
So warm. Those warms filled Haruki’s mind but his gaze colder than a snowy mountain, met the doctor’s gaze first before looking down to where their body touched.
Hiroshi though feeling the pressure of Haruki’s gaze, still held on. He even got bolder as he faced Haruki and released Haruki’s wrist. He didn’t give Haruki the chance to leave as he hurriedly wrapped his hands around Haruki’s waist.
Just like he wanted, he pulled Haruki closer and rested his head on Haruki’s shoulder before inhaling deeply. Everything about this man was beautiful, his scent, the feel of his body against his, everything!
Haruki thought of being colder. He thought of rejecting the doctor’s hug but the thought that it might come off as him throwing tantrums, he let the man hold him but he didn’t respond to the hug.
Hiroshi saw hope in Haruki’s lack of rejection so he pressed his nose against Haruki’s neck and inhaled deeply. Then he pushed his luck and kissed the warm smoothness of Haruki’s neck.
It was a light kiss at first and then a deeper one until he could not hold back anymore and soaked in the sweetness of the skin. This was what pushed him across the line but Haruki didn’t respond and simply indulged him.
Haruki’s acceptance of his actions made him believe that absence had elevated his position in Haruki’s heart. It made him want to push further, it made him want to take more steps further into that territory on the other side of the line.
His hands could not remain idle with this thought on his mind. He lifted the hem of Haruki’s shirt and touched the warmth of the skin underneath. More! He could feel every cell in his body scream.
This time, Haruki stopped him with tight grips on his wrists. He could easily swear that that grip would leave his wrists with marks but they were from Haruki, he would not mind a thousand more.
With the grip tightening, Haruki removed his exploring hands and took a step back before releasing them. His gaze so cold met Hiroshi’s light brown eyes as he asked, his voice deep and firm, "Why are you so excited?"
He had expected a sentence, a ban on him but what came was such a question. The tone held no warmth but it warmed the heart of the poor doctor who had to be away from the love of his life for more days than he would ever want.
Haruki knew scolding the doctor about his prolonged absence in such a moment would mean he cared so much and that was the last thing he wanted to be associated with in the relationship he had with the doctor.
He was in charge. Why would he be angry with his plaything over a few weeks of absence? Even if he was, why would he show it?
"Because I thought you abandoned me," Hiroshi replied. "You ignored all my calls and I worried."
Haruki’s eyes warmed up a bit with a slightly playful look, he smirked as he touched the man’s chin lightly before pinching it. "If you were so horny and craving pain, it would have been easier for you to find a master there than you would at home."
Hiroshi held back an instinctive wince at the words Haruki spoke. His heart tightened with a pain he didn’t like but he wore a warm smile like an innocent boy who just got praised.
The man’s handsome smile did no justice to the hurtful words Haruki had blurted out in the most casual way he could.
"I signed a contract," Hiroshi said calmly.
Haruki released the doctor’s chin. Feeling disappointed that he didn’t get the response he would have preferred from the doctor. So it was all about the contract. The man had no emotional connection to him except through the contract.
His grip on the man’s chin tightened a bit subconsciously but Hiroshi made no effort to let him know nor did he try to move away. Haruki looked as though he had something to say but he pressed his lips to form a thin line before finally releasing the doctor’s chin and walking out of the room.
Hiroshi wished he could find something in all that had just happened to give a bit of meaning. He could not tell the man he was both busy with his brother’s issue and too in love with Haruki which is why he didn’t go out to find some other type of fun.
