Chapter 96: 096
Tristan woke up and stared blankly ahead for a few minutes before he slowly sat up on the bed.
He frowned, and looked around the room in total confusion.
"Have I been dreaming?"
He thought as his eyes darted around the room.
"Hey! you are awake!" Nita exclaimed excitedly as she walked into the room.
She climbed the bed to touch the back of her hand to his forehead, and he followed her movement in a daze.
"Finally, your temperature is back to normal". She said cheerfully and went back out.
"Am I dreaming?" He thought again weakly.
And she returned again with a tray. She dropped it down in front of him. It was a porridge and the scent from it made his stomach knot and grumbled painfully.
"I’m hungry". He finally said softly and she nodded at him.
"Yes, you are. Now let me feed some of this to you". She replied, and scooped some of the porridge into his mouth.
He ate every drop of it and fell back to sleep.
She stood by the bedside after he was long asleep.
She had forced herself to smile in front of him.
The news had gotten to her too, the strongest Alpha King in the country had been captured by some unknown men.
She has been waiting for Alpha Raul to return so she can ask more from him but till then he asked her to remain indoors and not to leave Tristan alone.
Tristan didn’t wake again until late afternoon, when he did, he was different from how he was hours ago.
He woke up with a cry, and was scared to see her sitting beside him on the bed.
He looked like he just had a nightmare, and Nita managed to calm him down.
"Why am I here?
I want to go back to Mitch". He said softly after a while.
Nita pulled back from him and smiled gently.
"Yes, you would go to him but not now". She replied.
"They took pictures and videos, did he see them?
Is that why I’m here? He thinks I’m filthy?" He asked without a stop.
Nita was confused and could not understand what he was saying.
"Pictures?" She thought with a frown but she smiled at him while shaking her head.
"No, he does not think that way. You are only here because they are busy at the pack house". She replied and smoothen his hair to the back.
"Who are they?
I’m only asking about him". He replied and sat up.
Nita sat up with him. Something was unusual, there was a strange glint in his eyes and she was starting to get scared.
"I’m going back to him". Tristan said and head towards the door.
"Wait!" She called and pulled him back, but he shoved her away from him and she fell to the ground in shock.
He has never used that much force on her before.
What happened to him?
She thought in panic as he fled out of the apartment and she went after him. She screamed his name and tried to catch up with him.
Just as they had gotten downstairs to the parking lot, a pair of strong arms caught him.
Nita was relieved to see Alpha Raul hauled over his body shoulder like he weighed nothing. He fought to get down and yelled loudly.
She followed slowly behind them as a thought hit her hard in the guts.
Something was wrong with him.
"Can you shut up and stay still!" Alpha Raul roared at him and Tristan shrank back on the bed. He hugged his knees to his chest and avoided the Alpha’s gaze. He was shaking visibly but he stopped trying to run out.
Nita ran inside the room after hearing the Alpha yelled at him.
She was relieved to see him seated on the bed and had calmed down.
"Can I ask you something outside?" She asked him softly and Alpha Raul finally took his eyes off the Omega.
They left the room but he locked the door after them.
Nita turned towards him immediately as they were alone, her eyes held much curiosity and worry.
"What happened to him? I know you might not tell me everything but I need to know something. I have known him for years. We grew up together and today is the first time in years he shoved me to the ground".
Alpha Raul looked at her sharply after hearing that he shoved her.
"Are you hurt?". He asked and turned her around.
"No! I need to know. Tell me what happened to him". She said removing his hands away from her body.
"Some people that have a long history of bad blood with Mitch took him to get back at Mitch. He was with them for days and I have no idea what was done to him". He explained simply and Nita went quiet.
She still didn’t understand and before could ask again, he explained further.
"The third Alpha King in this country, Alpha of Oak Tree pack. He was the one behind it and maybe partially his daughter. Adriana. You’ve met her before".
Nita nodded slowly, before a frown crept between her brows again.
"How did they capture the Alpha?" She asked.
"That fool gave himself for the Omega.
A mere Omega that he can get several others like him if he wished to, but he gave himself to his enemies because of him". He replied and scoffed.
Nita narrowed her eyes at him. His words might not be directed at her but it stung to hear him talk like that.
That means he has little or no regard for her because there are several Omegas like her.
"And is that why you are a jerk?" She asked, and glared at him.
Alpha Raul frowned at her, they were talking about Mitch. Why was she suddenly angry and called him a jerk?
"Since there are several Omegas out there, leave this place now and go to them!" She yelled and opened the door to push him out.
His frown deepened until he realised he had indirectly hurt with the words he said.
"No, I won’t go to them". He replied with a smile and resisted her efforts to push him.
"Okay, I’m sorry". He apologized softly, and she finally stopped.
