Chapter 1220: Raiding a sect

Chapter 1220: Raiding a sect

Lin Fan had a strange look on his face when he heard what Ye Qing Huan said to him.

It hadn’t been long since he came back from the magic continent and the reason that he came back was because Yue Lan told him that Ye Qing Huan had come looking for him.

Lin Fan was confused why Ye Qing Huan suddenly came to see him, but he was even more confused when he heard what she had to say. After all, this was certainly not something that he had expected her to say to him.

"Let’s go and raid a sect."

Lin Fan just looked at Ye Qing Huan with a wry and confused smile on his face when he heard this.

He was already a bit used to Ye Qing Huan being eccentric after spending some time with her, but he didn’t expect her to suddenly say something like this.

Though thinking about it, it did seem like a normal thing for a demonic sect to do. If anything, it seemed like a normal activity for a sect like the Heavenly Demon Sect.

But it came out of the blue that Lin Fan couldn’t understand what was happening.

So the only thing that Lin Fan could do was look at Ye Qing Huan with this look on his face as if he was asking her to explain what she meant by this.

It was just that even though she could see him looking at her like this, Ye Qing Huan didn’t actually say anything in the end.

Lin Fan had no choice but to say with a sigh, "Alright, explain what you mean by this."

Ye Qing Huan took out some pieces of paper that she spread out in front of him before gesturing to them as if she wanted him to read them.

Since she didn’t say anything and just kept gesturing at the pieces of paper that she took out, Lin Fan had no choice but to read them to see what Ye Qing Huan wanted to show him.

It was just that there wasn’t much that was on these pieces of paper.

This was a report on the sect that Ye Qing Huan wanted to raid and it wasn’t even a detailed one. It was just a general report that only told them about the overall situation of the sect.

There was no mention of if there was a hidden ancestor or some kind of guardian in the sect, which there would be in most cases like this.

As such, this really wasn’t anywhere enough intel to actually act on.

It really felt like Ye Qing Huan was messing with him at this point, but Lin Fan knew that Ye Qing Huan wouldn’t do something as meaningless as that. If she was showing him this, then she had a reason for showing him this.

But in the end, he wasn’t able to figure it out since there was nothing that stood out about this sect.

The sect that was on the report was known as the Clear Star Sect.

It was a middle sized sect in one of the small kingdoms around the Mu Empire, a sect that most people would ignore since it was just a very normal sect.

Only it clearly wasn’t a normal sect if Ye Qing Huan wanted to raid this place.

"I give up, just tell me what’s so special about this place already." Lin Fan said with a sigh in the end.

Ye Qing Huan gave a nod before pointing to a certain spot on one of the pieces of paper.

When Lin Fan looked at what she was pointing at, it confused him even more.

"A trade was conducted with the Rising Moon Sect."

No matter how he looked at it, this really didn’t seem like it was anything suspicious.

It was only normal that the sects of small kingdoms would trade with each other.

They wouldn’t have that many resources available to them in the first place, so they could only rely on trading with each other to get what they wanted.

This didn’t seem like it was something that was worth the Heavenly Demon Sect making a move. Though Lin Fan didn’t say this out loud in the end since there had to be a reason that Ye Qing Huan pointed this out.

But in the end, he had to ask with another sigh, "Why is this important?"

Ye Qing Huan didn’t say anything as she pulled out another few pieces of paper that she handed over to him.

When he read through this, there was the same confused look that was on his face.

Though the one thing that he picked up on was that this Rising Moon Sect had also traded with another small sect not that long ago.

It seemed that this was the pattern that Ye Qing Huan was going for, so he just raised his hand out towards her. With the way that he held his hand out, it was as if he was asking for the next package.

Seeing this, Ye Qing Huan took out another few pieces of paper like Lin Fan expected.

When he took this, he saw that it was information on another small sect.

Seeing the way that Ye Qing Huan slowly took these packages out one after another made Lin Fan’s mouth twitch.

At this point, it was impossible to say that she wasn’t messing with him.

It was clear that she was doing this on purpose...

But it wasn’t as if Lin Fan could say anything since there was still a difference in status between him and Ye Qing Huan. Even if he had become the disciple of two of the Eight Kings, that didn’t matter since there was the Ye Family behind Ye Qing Huan,

As well, she was also one of the disciples of the Eight Kings...

So Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan continued this play for a while until Lin Fan finally saw what she was aiming at.

"They’re related to the Mount Hua Sword Sect?" Lin Fan asked when he finally received the last report.

Though judging by the way that he said this and the look on his face, it seemed like he had his doubts.

After all, Ye Qing Huan had to make five different associations before she reached the Mount Hua Sword Sect.

In his past life, it was like saying that this was someone that was related to the brother of the cousin of the uncle of the aunt of someone famous. It was the same as they didn’t know each other at all.

However, it seemed that Ye Qing Huan was certain of this...

Seeing that way that Lin Fan looked at her, Ye Qing Huan said, "Would one of the Five Great Sects really go out of their way to get involved in a small sect like this? Unless they were planning something, it is very unlikely that they would ever get involved with a small sect like this."

Lin Fan gave a slow nod to acknowledge that she was right, but still...

Seeing that he still had a look of doubt on his face, Ye Qing Huan took out another piece of paper that she showed him.

This time, Lin Fan’s expression immediately changed when he saw this piece of paper.

That was because this piece of paper was actually a mission from the Heavenly Demon Sect.

This was a mission that involved investigating this Clear Star Sect.

Lin Fan looked over it twice to make sure that he wasn’t missing anything before looking up at Ye Qing Huan to say, "It doesn’t say anything about destroying the Clear Star Sect, so why are you suggesting that we raze it?"

Ye Qing Huan just said with a smile, "Razing it to the ground can also be considered investigating it. We’re also taking care of any problems there might be with the sect at the same time."

Lin Fan’s lip couldn’t help twitching when he heard this.

Ye Qing Huan didn’t seem to mind when she saw this as she continued by saying, "In the end, we’re a demonic sect. This is the kind of thing that we’re expected to do, right?"

A very strange feeling filled Lin Fan when he heard this.

After all, Ye Qing Huan normally never said something like this.

It wasn’t that she was ashamed of it, it was just that she wasn’t the kind of person that would actually do something like this.

Lin Fan felt that he had a good grasp of Ye Qing Huan after spending all that time with her, so he knew that she wasn’t someone with that kind of personality.

The only time that she would say something like this was if there was something else hidden behind the scenes.

It meant that there was something different about this Clear Star Sect that she was acting this way, something that she wasn’t telling him.

"Just trust me." Ye Qing Huan said when she saw the way that Lin Fan looked at her.

Though he would have much rather preferred if she was honest with him and told him everything that he wanted to know, Lin Fan gave a nod in response.

Though he didn’t know just what Ye Qing Huan was thinking, he chose to believe that she had a reason for all of this.

Even if he couldn’t trust the Heavenly Demon Sect, at least he could trust Ye Qing Huan.

The things that she had shown him made her worthy of this kind of trust from him.
