A wry smile bloomed as the wind began to stir, remaining silent.
Mu An Xiao glared at Feng Qi Shi, then looked at Hu Yuan's expectant expression, waiting for her decision. She said, "They are mortals. If I do this..."
"If you don't, I'll let them all die."
Ma Yan, hearing Hu Yuan's words and seeing Mu An Xiao's hesitation, asked, "What are you talking about? I don't understand."
"If you understood everything in the world, you wouldn't need to live," Hu Yuan said.
Mu An Xiao furrowed her brows and extended her hand, "Everyone, grab hold of me."
"So you agree," Hu Yuan lowered his head, glancing at Mu An Xiao's arm, and said.
Mu An Xiao looked at Ma Yan and Ma Yan, saying, "There are many things that aren't for them to see, but for you to see." As she spoke, she naturally took Hu Yuan's arm.
Seeing this, Feng Qi Shi quickly stepped forward, about to reach out, when Hu Yuan commanded, "You two, hold onto me."
"What are you guys being so weird about?" Ma Yan expressed her dissatisfaction.
Hu Yuan glared, and without another word, reached out and grabbed Ma Yan's hand. Then, Ma Yan cautiously looked at Hu Yuan and naturally took Ma Yan's hand.
Ma Yan stared in astonishment at the hand held by Hu Yuan, her eyes widening in anger.
Simultaneously, Feng Qi Shi grabbed Mu An Xiao's hand.
Mu An Xiao furrowed her brows, turned her head to look at Feng Qi Shi, and said, "If you hold my hand, how can I cast spells?"
"Together," Feng Qi Shi smiled innocently.
"Together, my foot! This has nothing to do with you," Mu An Xiao said, forcefully shaking off Feng Qi Shi and quickly casting her spell.
As Mu An Xiao's spell began, Feng Qi Shi rapidly grabbed Mu An Xiao's arm.
And so, Feng Qi Shi caught up once again.
Behind the clouds, Mu An Xiao and the others landed together in the school's corridor.
Ma Yan, looking terrified at herself from the past walking past her into the infirmary, asked, "Who exactly are you?" She looked at Mu An Xiao.
Hu Yuan released Ma Yan's hand and said, "The secrets of heaven must not be revealed."
Ma Yan tightly held Ma Yan's hand, her forehead covered in cold sweat.
"Let go," Ma Yan said to Ma Yan without a kind expression.
"What is this place?" Ma Yan released her hand and asked Mu An Xiao, who turned her head to stare at Feng Qi Shi.
Mu An Xiao glared at Feng Qi Shi, who was smiling at her, then turned her head to look at Ma Yan and said, "This is the period shortly after your grandfather died. I think," she looked at Hu Yuan, "this is also the beginning of your troubles, isn't it?"
"Yes, I can see that," Hu Yuan said.
Mu An Xiao sighed and said, "If you want to see something, just go in and see. I won't be going in."
"Do you think I let you bring me..." Hu Yuan glanced sideways at Ma Yan and Ma Yan, "We came here to see the past. My real purpose is to let you see clearly my past and feel my pain."
"I can understand your pain, but I don't think you need to take their lives," Mu An Xiao said.
"Go in," Hu Yuan commanded.
Mu An Xiao pouted and turned to look at Feng Qi Shi, saying, "You don't need to come in."
"Why?"
"It's too crowded," Mu An Xiao said, stepping through the door into the infirmary first.
Then, the scene before her immediately stunned her.
"Sister, Grandpa treating him well was Grandpa's business. You don't need to be like this," Past Ma Yan said excitedly.
Past Ma Yan stood by Past Hu Yuan's bed, looking down at Hu Yuan who was on an IV drip, and said, "Grandpa treated him so well during his life, even giving him good things. I never received such good things. He's such a sickly person, why didn't he die? Why did Grandpa die? Why?"
"What kind of twisted logic is that?" Past Ma Yan said helplessly.
Past Ma Yan looked down at Past Hu Yuan's sleeping face and said, "We were too good to him when we were children, and now he's getting more and more audacious. His mother isn't a good person either. I don't know what methods his mother used to win Grandpa's affection. It's truly hateful."
"Don't say any more," Past Ma Yan advised.
"I'll just say, his mother is quite persistent. What's the benefit of deceiving him like this? He's going to die anyway, why bother going to school? It's just taking up resources," Past Ma Yan said excessively.
Past Ma Yan looked down at Past Hu Yuan's face, speechless.
Mu An Xiao hadn't expected Ma Yan to be like this. The moment she saw this scene, her perception of everything regarding them was overturned. Swallowing, she turned to look at Hu Yuan standing beside her and said, "You heard."
"The school doctor in this school's infirmary was a doctor. Because of my obsession, my mother gave the medicine to the school doctor, begging him to fulfill my request. As it happened, the facilities here were complete, and the school doctor agreed. Who knew," Hu Yuan looked at Past Ma Yan, "that she would disturb me while the school doctor was eating and pull out my IV. Due to psychological stress, my condition worsened subtly."
"She's too much," Mu An Xiao said, stepping to the bedside and looking down at the sweat beads on Past Hu Yuan's forehead. Then she looked at Past Ma Yan, who was being held by Past Ma Yan, and narrowed her eyes.
At this moment, Ma Yan and Ma Yan's expressions were equally grim.
"These words, I suppose you no longer remember them," Hu Yuan said, looking at Ma Yan's profile.
"I must be dreaming. This isn't real, it's not," Ma Yan shook her head.
Hu Yuan let out a soft scoff, "Even if it's your dream, it's the most realistic dream."
"Who exactly are you people?" Ma Yan asked Hu Yuan.
Hu Yuan shifted his gaze to Ma Yan's face, "This had nothing to do with you originally. You came here yourself."
"She is my sister. How can I not care?" Ma Yan said calmly.
"What a good sister. I think if you didn't like me, I wouldn't be bullied like this by you, my wicked sister," Hu Yuan said.
Mu An Xiao frowned upon hearing Hu Yuan's words, turned to Hu Yuan, and said, "Why did you come to this specific time?"
"This is when my pain truly began. If she hadn't pulled out the IV, my condition wouldn't have worsened," Hu Yuan took a deep breath. "I admit, I've been sickly since childhood. But fortunately, I wasn't familiar with her then. Because of Grandpa, she could only use words to mock me, making me unable to hold my head up, being ridiculed by others in private. I endured these. But what I don't understand is, why does she say I'm stealing her Grandpa? Why does she say... my mother."
Mu An Xiao looked at the pained expression on Hu Yuan's face, then listened to Past Ma Yan continue speaking to Past Hu Yuan. She stepped forward and said, "You're too much." She glared at Ma Yan.
Ma Yan narrowed her eyes, "This is my dream. You have no right to speak."
"Dream," Mu An Xiao sneered, "Do you think the past can be such a good dream? Ma Yan, I'm telling you, Hu Yuan doesn't have long to live. Because of your excess, from now on, you will pay the price."
