The soul child looked at the small demon's mournful face, and his mouth twitched, "After you put it that way, I seem to not understand? What kind of deal do you have with that monster?"
"Did you hear my conversation with that monster just now?" the small demon asked, looking down at the soul child who only reached his waist.
The soul child blinked and said, "I heard it, but... I only heard you say 'master', and then... nothing more."
"Please," the small demon patted the soul child's shoulder and disappeared.
The soul child stared blankly at the disappearing figure of the small demon, scratching the back of his head. "It seems I should act as if this never happened, to avoid them questioning me again." With that, he turned and walked through the human body towards the hospital.
Meanwhile, Mu Anxiao stopped in a secluded alleyway and said, "Aren't you tired of following me?" As she spoke, she turned to look at the woman in the red cloak.
The woman in the red cloak feigned a delicate expression and said, "You are Mu Anxiao, aren't you?"
"Who are you?" Mu Anxiao asked, feeling inexplicably uneasy as she looked at the woman's slightly retro clothing.
"That's great, I've finally found you. You have to help me." The woman ran forward and grabbed Mu Anxiao's hand.
Mu Anxiao's body stiffened. She immediately pulled her hand away and took a step back, asking, "What are you doing?"
"You know about the red-eyed monsters, don't you?" the woman asked.
Mu Anxiao's eyes narrowed, and she took another step back, "I don't understand what you're talking about."
The woman's eyes widened. "That year, I clearly saw you subdue those red-eyed monsters, down by the cliff."
"You've mistaken me for someone else," Mu Anxiao lowered her head.
The woman stepped forward and said, "Do you know, I've been looking for you for a very long time. After that year, I never saw you again. Seeing you after so many decades, I'm truly excited."
"Excited," Mu Anxiao looked up at the woman. "You're not human?"
"Mm, I'm a demon who cultivated from being human," the woman said softly.
"Human-demon?" Mu Anxiao summarized casually.
Hearing this, the woman quickly explained, "No, I'm a demon who cultivated from being human, not a human-demon."
"Sister, what's the difference?" Mu Anxiao asked, scanning the woman in front of her who was eager to explain.
The woman's expression stiffened. "Alright, say whatever you want."
"You've got the wrong person," Mu Anxiao thought about her own magical abilities and didn't want to admit any involvement in that incident.
"Impossible," the woman suddenly became angry.
Mu Anxiao, seeing the woman's changing expression, quickly stepped back and said, "You're angry."
"I've waited for you for so many years, searched for you for so many years, and you say you're not the one, of course I'm angry," the woman's voice weakened as she spoke.
Mu Anxiao pursed her lips and said, "What if I said I was?"
"If you say you are, I'll tell you a secret," the woman said seriously.
"A secret?" Mu Anxiao's eyes narrowed. "What secret?"
"The secret that Chihuahua is hiding," the woman said.
"You know Chihuahua?"
"Mm, it knows that conman, so of course I know," the woman's tone grew more nervous.
Originally, Mu Anxiao didn't know how to find the conman, but she unexpectedly met this woman. Especially seeing the woman's serious expression, she asked, "Have you been here all along?"
"Mm, in fact, from the first day you arrived, I was following you, I just didn't show myself," the woman said.
Mu Anxiao stared coldly at the woman's serious expression and said, "You mean you've been lurking by my side?"
"I'm sorry," the woman lowered her head.
"Then why are you showing yourself now?" Mu Anxiao asked.
"I wasn't sure until I overheard your conversation with that old man outside the door that day. I believed it then," the woman put on a sincere expression.
"Your human-demon magic is quite formidable," Mu Anxiao sneered. "You've hidden for so long, and I didn't even notice you."
"I really don't know if you're praising me or mocking me," the woman said softly.
"What do you need me for? Speak!" Mu Anxiao raised her chin.
"I want you to kill that conman," the woman stepped forward, her eyes very firm.
"Do you have a grudge against that conman?" Mu Anxiao frowned.
"If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have become this neither-human-nor-ghost state. Aren't you looking for him too? So," the woman lowered her head slightly, "please."
"Although your intentions are clearly manipulative, seeing how pitiable you are, I'll help you out. However, you are not allowed to follow me sneakily anymore," Mu Anxiao said solemnly.
"Understood," the woman nodded, her eyes suddenly changing.
Mu Anxiao noticed the sudden change in the woman's expression and frowned slightly. Then, she looked behind her and quickly shouted, "Chihuahua."
Following that, the woman glanced at Mu Anxiao's face, and with a whoosh, she turned and fired a beam of light at the small demon hiding in the corner.
The small demon looked at the beam of light in terror, his eyes wide.
Mu Anxiao urgently shouted, "Get out of the way, you fool."
However, just as the small demon was about to dodge, the beam of light struck his chest, and he vanished.
The woman let out a sinister smile, then feigned a wronged expression and turned to Mu Anxiao, asking, "Are you alright?"
"Why did you attack?" Mu Anxiao asked.
The woman blinked and said, "He's that conman's subordinate. If he followed us, he must have had a purpose. If I didn't do this, what if he went back and reported it?"
"Then, according to your logic, why didn't you kill him?" Mu Anxiao asked coldly.
"I couldn't bring myself to do it," the woman said, lowering her head slightly.
"You could attack, but you couldn't bring yourself to do it? If I were you," a flicker of killing intent flashed in Mu Anxiao's eyes, "I would have killed him without hesitation."
"Do you dare?" the woman asked, looking at the ruthlessness in Mu Anxiao's eyes.
"Of course, what's the point of keeping a monster like that?" Mu Anxiao said, taking out her phone and answering it. "Hello, what is it?" She turned her back.
In Hu Yuan's ward, Feng Qi Shi sat in a wheelchair and looked at Zhang Yan, who was holding cards, and Hu Yuan and the fat demon, saying, "Where are you? Why aren't you back yet."
Mu Anxiao glanced sideways and said, "Just when I was looking for you, Yin Cai. That Chihuahua is severely injured now. If possible, find him for me quickly. I've found another way, so once you catch him, kill him directly."
The woman looked at Mu Anxiao's back, her eyes darkening as she thought: Is she really going to kill Chihuahua? Didn't they say she had no spiritual energy anymore? Thinking this, her eyes flickered.
