Chapter 642 Mutual Secrets

"If it's a demon," Yan's expression turned hazy, "then we are truly doomed."

Mu Anxiao gasped, desperately suppressing the fear in her heart, then sidled over and closed the door, saying, "What do you mean doomed? Can't you say something more auspicious at a time like this?"

"Didn't you hear it too? None of the little demons who went to fetch tea and water have come out. What does that mean? It means they're dead," Yan said, pouting and starting to cry. "They're dead, without even a trace of their souls left. And the opponent is a faceless demon."

"Now is not the time for crying, we need to think of a plan," Mu Anxiao grabbed Yan's arm.

Yan continued to cry, "Think of what plan? This is the rabbit's territory. I think we should just wait to die." With that, she shook off Mu Anxiao's hand, turned, and sat down at the table.

Mu Anxiao looked at Yan's retreating back and sighed, saying, "If you can't think of a plan, I'm sure I can."

"Your face has been disfigured like this, and your clothes were thrown away. Even if you come up with a plan, you can't go out," Yan said, resting her chin on one hand and not even looking at Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao glanced down at her attire and said, "This is indeed a problem."

"Let's wait to die," Yan said, then turned to look at Mu Anxiao and gestured to the seat beside her. "Come, sit down and eat something. At least we should eat our fill before we embark on our journey."

"I don't want to die," Mu Anxiao said, looking down.

"I don't want to die either, but we're already in this situation, what can we do?" Yan stared at the unwilling Mu Anxiao and said.

Mu Anxiao's lips twisted. She stepped in front of Yan and asked, "Do you really want to die like this?"

"No," Yan shook her head, then lowered her gaze and added, "But we've already reached this point, what can we do?"

Mu Anxiao, who had thought Yan had decided to give up on life completely, suddenly became full of spirit upon hearing this. "What can we do? We can think of a plan! It's still morning, and there are still several hours before that great demon arrives."

"Even if we think of a plan, how do we leave? Moreover," Yan sighed, "we still have to save them. Let's calculate..."

"Stop, did you forget what that rabbit spirit said?" Mu Anxiao asked urgently.

"What did she say?" Yan asked, looking confused.

Mu Anxiao's lips curled. "Oh, about them resting during the day."

"Resting," Yan repeated, her eyes darting around as she smiled. "You're right, but..." She trailed off.

"But what?" Mu Anxiao asked impatiently.

"But you have immortal energy on you, and I have rat energy. If we go out, we'll be discovered immediately," Yan thought considerately.

Mu Anxiao lowered her eyes and thought for a moment, then her eyes widened. "That actually reminds me of something."

"Reminds you of what?" Yan was bewildered.

Mu Anxiao said earnestly, "I am human, and you are a rat. That great demon wants a rabbit spirit, but we are not rabbits. What do you think the consequences will be?"

Upon hearing this, Yan carefully considered Mu Anxiao's words, then suddenly stood up and said, "If we're discovered, we'll die even more miserably."

"Yes, so?" Mu Anxiao cocked her chin and asked.

Yan nervously uttered two words, "Escape."

"You've finally seen the light," Mu Anxiao smiled.

"I need to think of a way," Yan, jolted awake by Mu Anxiao, sat down and began to think deeply.

Mu Anxiao's lips curved. She stepped forward and sat down beside Yan.

A quarter of an hour later, Yan, her mind still blank, looked at Mu Anxiao who had fallen asleep on the table and said, "With the knife at your throat, you can still sleep." As she spoke, she forcefully patted Mu Anxiao's shoulder.

The next second, Mu Anxiao opened her eyes, smacking her lips, and asked, "Have you thought of a plan?"

"No," Yan shook her head.

Mu Anxiao licked her lips and said, "You must be hungry."

Yan hadn't felt hungry before, but after Mu Anxiao said that, her stomach began to rumble.

"I'm hungry," she said.

Mu Anxiao yawned and sat up. "You wait here for me, I'll go find something for you to eat."

"You'd better not go, it'll be bad if you're discovered," Yan grabbed Mu Anxiao's arm.

Mu Anxiao pulled Yan's hand away. "I'm going to find food, that rabbit spirit won't dare say anything. You just stay here and wait for me."

"Don't run away," Yan pointed at Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao smiled, "No, no." With that, she stood up.

Yan looked up at Mu Anxiao and said, "Hurry!"

"No problem."

And so, Mu Anxiao left the room and headed towards the kitchen.

In the Rabbit Queen's chamber, the man sat at the table with an impatient look, saying, "It's really enough that you only have carrots here." As he spoke, he removed his mask and bamboo hat in front of the Rabbit Queen.

Then, the Rabbit Queen emerged from behind the screen and walked to the man. She leaned over and looked at his delicate and handsome features, smiling, "If you were a woman, you would be as beautiful as a celestial being. It's a shame you're a man."

"Say that again, and I'll turn you all back into rabbits immediately," the man said, pointing at the Rabbit Queen.

The Rabbit Queen, completely unlike her usual self, smiled at the man and said, "If you want to eat something, go to the kitchen yourself. There's a stove there, but it hasn't been used in many, many years."

"Aren't you afraid I'll set the kitchen on fire?" the man said, picking up a teacup.

"If it catches fire, you'll burn, not me," the Rabbit Queen shrugged.

"You only dare to act like this in front of me," the man said, pointing at the Rabbit Queen.

The Rabbit Queen smiled faintly, "Because we both know each other's secrets, naturally, we don't need to be so reserved."

"You're the only one who knows how to talk," the man said.

"Go," the Rabbit Queen gestured towards the door.

"Aren't you coming with me?" the man asked.

"I still have to think of a plan. There are too many of those rats," the Rabbit Queen said, turning her back.

The man glanced at the Rabbit Queen's back, stood up, and then took off his long robe, saying, "I'm going."

"Aren't you wearing your mask?" the Rabbit Queen asked without looking back.

"Whoever sees my face, I kill them," the man said, turning around. "I've told you this before. Don't be heartbroken when the time comes."

"Whatever. Anyway, many of these rabbits are no longer of much use," the Rabbit Queen said ruthlessly.

"You've learned what I taught you. Not bad, not bad," the man said, stepping forward, opening the door, and leaving the room.

The Rabbit Queen's eyes darkened. She glanced at the black rabbit on the screen and said, "Sister, I will surely avenge you. Soon, I will succeed." As she spoke, she clenched her fists.

Outside the door, the man's lips curved. "Hate is truly deep. Good, good." With that, he walked away.
