Chapter 641 Demonic Energy

Mu Anxiao looked at Yan's face, which held a glimmer of hope for the future, and thought about what she had told him last night. A sinking feeling settled in Mu Anxiao's heart, and he couldn't help but ask, "You're not lying to me, are you?"

Hearing this, Yan put down his hands and looked at Mu Anxiao, who had suddenly asked such a question, with confusion. He retorted, "What do you mean by that?"

"I calculated the approximate time. You said your mother was captured by me twenty years ago, and then you set up the demon barrier. After that, you helped set one up here too. But this is something from the underworld, and there are spirits here. I think you're lying to me."

"I didn't lie to you. The demon barrier here was really set up by us," Yan said lightly.

Mu Anxiao looked at Yan's sincere expression, lowered his eyes, and was about to speak when the spirit's voice came from outside: "May I come in?"

"Who?" Mu Anxiao asked.

"I am the spirit. I have something to tell you," the spirit said, pretending not to recognize Mu Anxiao.

"Come in." Mu Anxiao responded, cooperating with the spirit's demeanor.

Yan didn't know how to continue his explanation, so he lowered his head.

Following that, the spirit pushed open the door, crossed the threshold, and as he looked up at Mu Anxiao, his mouth twitched.

Mu Anxiao looked at the spirit's expression, which was either scared or amazed by him, with a cold indifference and said, "Your accomplice is gone."

"I know. I'm here to tell you that there must be no trouble," the spirit said, his tone serious.

"Trouble," Mu Anxiao said, giving a cold laugh. "If I'm not mistaken, I'll die if I cause trouble, and I'll die if I behave obediently. I need to think about your question more carefully."

"Then think about it," the spirit said impolitely, then narrowed his eyes and said mentally, "What do you want to tell me?" He glanced at Yan.

"I see," Mu Anxiao said mentally.

"Yes, I can see from your eyes that you have something to tell me."

"Clever," Mu Anxiao said mentally, deliberately glancing at Yan and asking, "Did you set up the demon barrier here?"

"No," the spirit replied mentally, glancing at Yan and continuing, "The rat demon did. I only have the antidote."

"Is that so? You can go," Mu Anxiao said, waving his hand mentally.

The spirit curled his lips, glanced at the wronged Yan, and Mu Anxiao also looked at Yan, saying, "This atmosphere is really awkward. Don't worry, I won't disgrace you rabbits. You can go."

The spirit glared at Mu Anxiao and said, "You'd better not mess things up." With that, he turned and left the room, closing the door behind him.

Immediately, Mu Anxiao turned to Yan and said, "I'm sorry."

Hearing this, Yan quickly looked up at Mu Anxiao and said, "You don't need to apologize. At this juncture, there's no point in trusting anyone. However, I trust you now."

"I don't quite understand what you mean," Mu Anxiao said, shaking his head slightly.

Yan smiled slightly. "I didn't trust you at first, but now I do."

"Why?" Mu Anxiao asked blankly.

Yan said, "Because you don't trust me anymore. This proves that you are the same as me."

Mu Anxiao's expression stiffened, and then he laughed awkwardly twice, saying, "Your logic is indeed interesting."

Yan lowered his eyes and smiled.

Outside the immortal cultivation sect, Xu Lanyan put on a fierce expression and was about to knock on the door when the black-clothed demon suddenly reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Xu Lanyan was stunned and turned his head to look at the black-clothed demon, asking, "What are you doing?"

The black-clothed demon swallowed and pointed to the sky.

Xu Lanyan frowned and followed his finger to the darkening sky, his eyes widening. "Such heavy demonic energy. No, this is demonic energy."

"That demonic energy is coming this way." The black-clothed demon's hand on Xu Lanyan's shoulder began to tremble uncontrollably.

"Let's make a long-term plan," Xu Lanyan said, not wanting any connection with demons.

"Okay." The black-clothed demon nodded.

Then, they turned and disappeared.

The next second, the red-clothed rabbit spirit opened the door and looked at the man slowly descending from the sky, wearing a dark gray long robe, a black hat, and a black mask. "You've arrived."

"Why didn't that guy come out?" The man walked up to the red-clothed rabbit spirit and placed a hand on her shoulder.

The red-clothed rabbit spirit stiffened and said, "Our Queen..."

"Don't call her Queen in front of me," the man reminded her.

The red-clothed rabbit spirit trembled uncontrollably at the man's magnetic voice and said, "Our master is currently thinking about how to eliminate those rats without anyone noticing, so..."

"So she's too busy to welcome me," the man said.

The red-clothed rabbit spirit raised her shoulders high. "Master, please don't be like this..."

"Without me, you wouldn't have been able to become human, let alone achieve such great success, just by listening to that spirit. Don't forget who truly helped you," the man said, pressing down hard on the red-clothed rabbit spirit's shoulder.

"We wouldn't dare, we wouldn't dare," the red-clothed rabbit spirit said nervously, shaking her head.

"Don't be nervous. I'm not going to eat you," the man said, leaning down to meet the red-clothed rabbit spirit's eyes through his mask.

As the man leaned down, the red-clothed rabbit spirit lowered her head and said, "Two demons have been prepared for you."

"That's good. I like polite people," the man said, pushing the red-clothed rabbit spirit aside and walking inside.

The red-clothed rabbit spirit breathed a sigh of relief, stepped back, and closed the door.

Over in the room, Mu Anxiao opened the door, looked up at the misty sky, and then sniffed the air, saying, "This smell is wrong."

"This isn't demonic energy," Yan said, walking up behind Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao nodded. "It's indeed not demonic energy. It feels like..." He suddenly widened his eyes. "It's demon... demonic energy."

"Demon." Yan was startled.

"A great demon, a demon," Mu Anxiao muttered.

Yan heard this and pouted. "We're doomed."

"Except for dealing with that guy, the vine spirit, who faked demonic possession, I haven't really dealt with a true demon. Today..." Mu Anxiao tilted his head to stare at the sky. "I've certainly opened my eyes."

"Demon..." Yan started to cry and then said with despair, "Grandmother said demons are the most terrifying. We're doomed."

Listening to Yan's cries, Mu Anxiao sighed helplessly, turned around, and said, "Can you stop it? I wasn't scared before, but hearing you say that," he glanced at his own trembling hand and pouted, "I'm starting to get scared too."

"You're scared too," Yan said, looking up and crying loudly. "Then it's really over."

"Oh my goodness, can you stop crying?" Mu Anxiao said, only feeling a sense of unease in his heart.
