Chapter 207 Someone Comes Knocking

"I'll tidy up," Liu Xian muttered.

Watching Liu Xian's instantaneous capitulation, Mu Anxiao casually asked, "Why do you listen to him so much?"

Liu Xian glanced cautiously at Zhang Yan and said, "Miss Mu, since you've finished eating, please go rest and don't ask so many questions."

Mu Anxiao, who had endured countless forms of oppression in the past, understood the discomfort of someone fawning over her better than anyone. Especially seeing Liu Xian's current demeanor, she couldn't help but recall her own past self, always putting on a cheerful front for everyone. So, she casually said, "If he treats you so harshly, you're free to leave."

"Now that you have nothing to do, you want me to leave," Liu Xian completely misunderstood Mu Anxiao's intention and became angry. "I'm telling you, Mu Anxiao, I won't let you succeed."

Mu Anxiao knew Liu Xian would misinterpret this, so without explaining anything, she stood up and said, "I'll tidy up."

"I'll do it," Liu Xian preempted.

Mu Anxiao looked down at Liu Xian and said, "Alright, you do it." After speaking, she walked towards the room.

Fan Yan swallowed and remained silent.

Zhang Yan didn't know what to say either and continued eating in silence.

Liu Xian called out to Mu Anxiao's retreating back, not idly, "The boss treats me very well, don't try to sow discord between us."

Mu Anxiao returned to her room without looking back and gently closed the door, letting out a sigh.

"The people here are like this. Do you want me to come out and help you, benefactor?" the wolf demon spoke again.

Mu Anxiao patted her pocket forcefully. "Say less."

"Mu Anxiao, you're truly pitiful," the wolf demon said deliberately.

"It's you who is pitiful if anyone is. I at least have a body, but you," Mu Anxiao looked down at her pocket, "are just a soul."

The moment Mu Anxiao uttered these words, the wolf demon fell silent.

Mu Anxiao walked to the bedside and looked down at the patterned bedsheet. She then surveyed the room's decor and murmured, "It seems this place doesn't belong to me at all." As she spoke, she bent over and lay on the bed.

Lost in thought, she fell asleep.

Feng Qishi, after nearly an hour of searching when the wind picked up, arrived outside the small park's courtyard. "Is anyone here?"

Zhang Yan, lying on a lounge chair by the tree, heard Feng Qishi's voice and opened his eyes. "Who are you?"

Feng Qishi smiled and walked forward on his own accord. "I'm the one who called. You must be the old man who answered... no, the elder, right?"

"You're that adolescent youth," Zhang Yan stated directly.

Feng Qishi nodded.

Zhang Yan sat up and looked Feng Qishi up and down. "Kid, you really look just like Shen Yan."

"Where is Mu Anxiao?" Feng Qishi skipped over Zhang Yan's words and asked.

"In the house, that room over there," Zhang Yan pointed to Mu Anxiao's room.

"You're her grandfather, aren't you?" Feng Qishi asked.

Zhang Yan picked up his fan and fanned himself. "Yes, go find her then."

"That's her room, it might not be appropriate for me to go directly," Feng Qishi said, glancing at Mu Anxiao's room. "Could you please call her out?"

"I'm an old man, and you want to trouble me? Isn't that inappropriate?" Zhang Yan said intentionally.

"I'm a man, and she's a woman. If I go into her room directly like this, it might be even more inappropriate."

"If she asks, just say I permitted it," Zhang Yan said to himself.

"Alright then, if she gets angry at you, don't blame me," Feng Qishi said, turning and walking towards Mu Anxiao's room.
