Chapter 53 The Man in White

"Let me go... Ahhh!" The vine spirit shrieked, its body feeling as if it were burning.

Seeing this, Mu Anxiao quickly retreated beside Shen Yan and asked, "What's wrong with him?"

"His body and soul have lost balance. That person's soul is about to emerge," Shen Yan said calmly.

"Emerge?" Mu Anxiao repeated, mentally reviewing the events of the past two days. "Shen Yan, I think I'm starting to not understand."

"Then don't understand," Shen Yan replied without glancing at Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao pouted and looked at Ye Yin and the narcissistic girl. "Ye Yin is really trying. If it were me, I wouldn't protect that girl."

"Do you think everyone is as selfish as you are?" Shen Yan said coldly and walked towards them.

Mu Anxiao stood in place, watching Shen Yan's retreating back, and smiled at her spoils.

In the next instant, both the vine spirit and the narcissistic girl screamed.

"Ahhh!"

Mu Anxiao understood the vine spirit's pain but had no idea why the narcissistic girl was screaming.

"Your leg," the narcissistic girl, curled up in a corner, said as she looked down at Ye Yin's gradually solidifying branches.

At the same time, Mu Anxiao shifted her gaze to the narcissistic girl's face. Before she could speak, a gust of cold wind blew. Mu Anxiao felt a heavy yin energy behind her, swallowed, and turned around with a shout.

Shen Yan, who had stopped in front of Ye Yin and was about to cast a spell, heard Mu Anxiao's voice, withdrew her hand, turned, and asked, "What are you yelling about?"

"A ghost," Mu Anxiao pointed at the man in white floating in front of her.

Shen Yan calmly glanced at the man in white, sighed softly, turned back, and crouched down. Without looking at the narcissistic girl, she lightly touched Ye Yin's ankle. Ye Yin's leg and foot returned to normal.

The narcissistic girl looked at Shen Yan's calm demeanor, rolled her eyes, and fainted.

Mu Anxiao stood frozen, looking at the man in white. "Who are you?"

"The one who will kill you," the man in white said coldly.

Mu Anxiao stepped back half a pace. "You're not from..." She glanced at the vine tied with silver rope, then back. "The soul that came out of that thing?"

"What do you think?" the man in white said coldly.

Mu Anxiao's mouth twitched. She glanced at the man in white's clenched fists and asked, "What's your name? Vine spirit?"

"What my name is has nothing to do with you. Die!" the man in white said, raising his hand.

Mu Anxiao looked at the man in white's raised hand and then at the silver rope tied to the vine. She muttered, "Bind him, bind him."

Unexpectedly, the silver rope showed no reaction.

The man in white stared at Mu Anxiao's anxious expression and snorted, "You, a mere mortal, trying to control the soul-locking rope below is a fool's dream." He then turned his head and shouted, "Bind her."

Instantly, the silver rope detached from the vine and flew towards Mu Anxiao.

Mu Anxiao watched the scene in terror, filled with despair. "It's my bad luck. Come on," she said, closing her eyes.

A gust of wind passed, but Mu Anxiao felt nothing. As she slowly opened her eyes, she smiled.

"Why is this happening?" The man in white was completely bound by the silver rope.

Mu Anxiao grinned. "Your magic is quite strong."
