Chapter 269: Chapter 269: This Company Belongs to Me!
Harry Hunter stayed by Isabella Weaver’s side all along. Connor brought dinner, but neither of them was in the mood to eat.
"It’s probably better to transfer her to a different hospital and switch to a new attending physician; maybe it will yield some results."
Secretary Clarke had already consulted many doctors, but all of them shook their heads after examining her, suggesting to prepare for the worst.
"Yes, didn’t you say Doctor Niles’s mentor is quite skilled? Could you ask him to take a look?"
"I’ve already contacted Director Valley; Johan Niles and he should be on their way."
The door to the ward was suddenly pushed open. Harry thought it was Johan Niles, but when he looked up, he saw Cherry Lewis coming again, followed by the previous lawyer and two additional bodyguards on either side.
"Why haven’t you left yet? Are you plotting something against my godmother? I’m really curious, Miss Weaver. My godmother was fine before she met you, but she didn’t wake up after seeing you. Did you do something to her?"
Isabella Weaver slowly stood up, suddenly exuding a commanding presence, "Get out! From now on, you are not allowed to come near her even half a step!"
Cherry Lewis frowned, "I am my godmother’s daughter. Who are you to say such a thing?"
"I do have the right! The one without the right is you!"
"Stop dreaming. You can’t possibly swallow Moonlight Jewelry alone. I’ve already told you, this jewelry company is mine!"
"I intend to take Moonlight Jewelry for myself!"
Isabella’s face turned cold, and her tone was filled with overwhelming confidence, "You won’t get a penny from Moonlight! Starting today, this company belongs to me, and your position is terminated!"
Cherry Lewis was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing.
"Isabella Weaver, are you out of your mind? My godmother isn’t even dead yet, so how is this company yours? You’re just her heir in her will. As long as she’s alive, this company will never be yours! You have no right to fire me!"
Isabella Weaver looked at her coldly, her expression unchanged, "Not only do I have the right to terminate your position, I also hold another right."
Cherry Lewis mocked her, "What other right could you possibly have?"
"I have the right to terminate your status as her goddaughter! Cherry Lewis, from this moment on, you have no relation to the president. You no longer have the right to be her daughter. Take your people and disappear from this ward!"
Cherry Lewis widened her eyes in disbelief, "Have you lost your mind? What right do you have to terminate my relationship with my godmother? Who do you think you are! You think marrying into the Hunter Family and becoming a wealthy young madam makes you omnipotent? Brother Harry, how could you marry such a brainless, money-grubbing woman?"
Harry Hunter coldly spoke, "The one who’s brainless is you."
His tone was calm, but the powerful aura he exuded added unmatched persuasiveness to each word he spoke, as if he was speaking the truth.
Cherry Lewis was momentarily frozen, then quickly laughed again, "Lawyer Howard, show them the letters my godmother left me, so they can see whether she truly cared for me or for this Isabella Weaver whom she’s only met once."
Lawyer Howard handed over the letters.
Isabella Weaver took them, reading one by one.
These were photocopies; the handwriting slightly blurred, but Isabella could still recognize at a glance that it was Shiely Morrison’s handwriting.
The handwriting was exactly the same as in the journal.
"See? My godmother always cared for me. She has no children and has always treated me like her own daughter and said she would leave Moonlight Jewelry to me. If she has a will to leave Moonlight to you, it definitely wasn’t her true intention!"
