Chapter 163: Matthias’s True Feeling

Chapter 163: Chapter 163: Matthias’s True Feeling

Victoria decided to comfort her husband in the courtroom until his condition stabilized. They now moved to the audience seats. She let her husband vent his tears, which were so loud that she couldn’t bear to divorce him even more. She took the initiative to hug him tightly and pat his back. Honestly, it was the first time she had ever seen Matthias cry, almost to the point of fainting. After all, she had always acted strong in front of him.

"Matthias, I’ll stay with you here. I’m not going anywhere." Victoria couldn’t hold back her tears, either.

"I’m sorry, Victoria. I never really wanted to divorce you from the start. From the time I said those hurtful words until now, it was all an act. But now that I’m in this courtroom, which feels real, I realize how foolish I was to carry out that crazy idea that could destroy our relationship in an instant."

"I know you did it out of necessity. I actually realized it when you told me I had to protect all your valuables, including our marriage certificate." Her right hand gently stroked her husband’s head. "But why did you have to go to this length? Didn’t you think about the risks?"

"Actually, I did it to free you and the T&H Group from your family." Matthias momentarily released his wife’s embrace. "Do you know why my mother hated you so much all these years?"

"Because my stepmother has been extorting funds from your family."

"Your mother and stepmother once signed an agreement stating that you and I could never marry. If we did, your stepmother wouldn’t stand idly by. She would never forgive you and would torture you without hesitation. Even now, your position at D&C Group has been stolen by Fransisca."

Victoria narrowed her eyes as she gripped her husband’s hand tightly. "Why didn’t you tell me this from the start?"

"Because I’m sure you’ll stop me from doing something stupid, or you’ll be the one doing it." A ragged breath escaped his mouth. "Actually, my mother approves of our relationship. This time, she’s really serious about it."

"What?"

"She deeply regrets her actions in torturing you. She was especially devastated to learn that her grandchild had died inside you."

Victoria stroked her stomach slowly. "Matthias, what are you really planning to do with suddenly wanting to divorce me? You haven’t finished telling me yet."

"I wanted to prove to your stepmother that I truly didn’t love you. I handed her our divorce papers as proof so she would set you free."

"But if you divorce me, it definitely won’t solve the problem. Do you think signing the divorce papers is just a game?"

"I know. I’m tired of doing that stupid thing again. Your stepmother even told me to take our divorce case to court and end it before I marry Amber."

"Matthias, if you dare to do all this without thinking it through, our relationship could truly be over. Do you want us to divorce forever?"

Matthias shook his head slowly, hugging his wife tightly. "I’ve missed you so much all this time. I couldn’t survive if we were apart. Every day I worry about you, whether you’re eating regularly or sleeping well. Because I’ve spoiled you so much."

Hearing her husband’s true feelings made her tears flow even more freely. Her right hand gently stroked his head. "I know you must miss me so much. Seeing your behavior when we visited the project site, I knew you couldn’t hold it in."

"Actually, I was really, really anxious at the time. I was starting to go crazy because I hadn’t communicated with you for so long."

"Then why didn’t you just come find me?" Victoria broke the hug for a moment and then stroked her husband’s tear-streaked cheek. "Even though we’ve signed the divorce papers, you can still communicate with me."

"Because I want to make you feel like our relationship is really over. I don’t want everyone to know that we’re still in good relationships."

"So, all this time you’ve been acting cold to me just because of that?"

Matthias nodded, letting his wife’s head rest on his shoulder. "Many people are still trying to destroy our relationship because they’re jealous. So, if I don’t put on an act, our relationship will only get more complicated, and now I can’t keep up the act. The more I overdo it, the more I feel suffocated."

Victoria snapped her fingers. "Then let’s just keep up the act."

"But, will you be okay?"

"If I know your true intentions, don’t worry, I can act like you. But, on the condition that you don’t ignore me again like before if you still consider me your wife."

Matthias kissed his wife on the lips for a few seconds. "Actually, when I signed the divorce papers, I still considered you my beloved wife."

In the end, they both smiled happily at each other. It had been a long time since they’d felt this kind of excitement, which filled them with life. If they had discussed this from the start, the misunderstandings wouldn’t have continued.

"Matty, after this is all over, I want you to move back in with me. I don’t want to be alone in that big house. I’m so lonely."

"Even though I bought the house in your name?"

"You promised, the house I designed will belong to both of us. Therefore, you must keep your promise."

Matthias kissed her lips again. "I’ll be back soon. I’ve really missed playing the piano with you."

"It’s been really annoying lately that I’ve been playing the piano alone, but I always make mistakes."

Matthias furrowed his brows. "This is so strange. You’ve been so good at playing your favorite instrument lately thanks to my teachings."

"Because I can’t play it without you."

"It seems like you really want to cuddle with me, not because you really can’t play the piano."

Victoria took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. "The day after tomorrow is your wedding to Amber. Is it appropriate for me to attend your wedding?"

"Of course. In fact, I wanted to give you a special surprise."

"What surprise?"
