Chapter 156: Divorce

Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Divorce

What actually made Victoria suddenly want to divorce Matthias so quickly? Hearing Matthias’s intention to marry Amber had already made her furious. She could already guess that Matthias was marrying Amber only because of his mother’s unyielding demands. If she were Matthias, she would also have a hard time going against her own mother.

What still angered her was Matthias’ openly allowing Amber to flirt with him at the restaurant. She knew Matthias didn’t want to be treated too harshly by his own friend, but she had to keep her composure so Amber would trust him.

Since signing the divorce papers, Victoria has been unable to live in peace. While she was previously confident about divorcing Matthias, she now feels a nagging feeling in her heart. Furthermore, if they truly divorce, she will no longer have the right to live with Matthias.

The luxurious home she had designed for them to live in together would soon feel empty. She wondered if this luxury home would ever belong to Amber. She certainly didn’t want her to live in the luxury home he had painstakingly designed. She still remembered Matthias’s earlier words that this luxury home was designed just for them.

After signing the divorce papers, Victoria rarely spoke to Matthias. She now awaited the final decision at the divorce court. Now, all she could do was pack her belongings and leave this luxurious home. Since she had renounced her status as Matthias’ wife, she felt she had no right to occupy this home.

"What are you doing?" Matthias asked with a glare as he saw his wife suddenly pack all her things into a suitcase.

"I’m packing up my things. After we divorce, I’ll be staying at Jennifer’s house for a while."

"Why don’t you just stay in this house?"

Victoria furrowed her brows. "Isn’t this going to be a home for you and Amber?"

"Who said she could live in this house?"

"Then, after you get married, where will you live?"

Matthias lifted the corners of his lips confidently. "Don’t worry, you’ll see."

"Okay, I assume your marriage will go smoothly. Have you bought a house for her yet?"

"I decided I wanted to invite her to stay at my family’s house."

Victoria’s eyes widened. "What? Then who will own this luxurious house?"

A relaxed smile spread across his handsome face. He moved his lips closer to the red ones in front of him. "This house will be yours."

"What?!"

"I told you from the beginning. This luxury house can only be occupied by the two of us."

"But, how can I live in a house this big?"

"I bought this house in your name too. I won’t give this house to anyone else."

"So, where are you going to live now?"

Matthias took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. "I’ll stay at my family’s house. I don’t want to let you stay with me either. I’m afraid you’ll feel even more awkward with me around."

"Matthias, if you want to kick me out because you’ve changed your mind, I won’t have a problem with it. I can move into Jennifer’s house right away."

"Why are you so excited to move when this house is so well-equipped? You can watch as many movies as you like in the private cinema, you can work out at the gym, and you can breathe fresh air in the backyard. Plus, you can learn to cook the latest recipes in the spacious kitchen." Matthias lifted his wife’s chin with an intense gaze. "The most important thing is that you can swim here. I’m tired of letting you swim in a public place, even if it’s a private pool."

Victoria laughed mischievously, pouting her lips. "If you’re still uneasy about leaving me alone, why are you still so enthusiastic about divorcing me?"

"For all problems to be resolved quickly."

"Actually, I can read your mind right now, through your gaze at me, still filled with love. I know you’re still not ready to let me go."

Victoria spontaneously embraced her husband tightly. She wanted to savor this warm embrace before she had to truly let him go for Amber. She was certain her husband would fall into Amber’s trap. Moreover, with Amber’s support, Matthias would surely lose.

Now it was Victoria’s turn to watch her husband pack all his essentials. Matthias hadn’t brought all of his watches. He’d left some of his collection behind, making Victoria even more curious about Matthias’s true plans.

"Matthias, are you sure you don’t want to take all your watches?"

"I don’t need it for now. I want you to look after all my valuables."

Victoria pursed her lips. "It seems like you’re treating me like your assistant now. Even though I got divorced, I didn’t get divorced to be your personal assistant!"

"I just want someone I trust to help me look after all my stuff."

"Yes, I can only hope that your mission goes smoothly."

"Victoria, if you ever need a friend, don’t call me."

"Why?"

Matthias held his wife’s hands with an intense gaze. "Have you forgotten I’m engaged to Amber?"

Victoria immediately released her husband’s hand. "Don’t worry, I won’t look for you anymore. I’ll find Ansel. Now I can only rely on him. He won’t hurt my feelings. Unlike you, who has no conscience!"

Several days had passed since the divorce papers were signed. Matthias certainly didn’t want to let this situation drag on any longer. This time, he mustered the courage to meet Gianna at the D&C Group building. He openly handed the divorce papers to her.

"Now you can see with your own eyes. Victoria and I have decided to end our relationship."

Gianna lifted the corners of her lips. "I never thought you’d actually managed to deceive me this whole time. You were still carrying on your marriage in secret."

"I don’t want to beat around the bush with you anymore. Since I’ve kept your promise, I want you to stop threatening T&H Group and let Victoria go! Don’t use our relationship as an excuse! I won’t be afraid of you!"
