Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Precious Medicine

Sawyer was furious at his ex-fiancé’s sudden words. His breath hitched. If he made one wrong move, their relationship would be over. What was he supposed to do now? Should he let his ex-fiancé marry another man? He was utterly disgusted with his failed love life. He didn’t want to remain silent any longer.

"Jennifer, are you really going to marry another man?"

Jennifer nodded nervously. "Because there’s nothing we can do anymore. Our relationship ended two years ago. Just being able to be friends with you makes me incredibly grateful."

"So, you’re just going to give up like that? If you married that man, would you live happily ever after?"

"No! I won’t be happy if I marry him!" Jennifer finally broke down in tears, patting her chest in frustration. "I don’t want to marry another man. I’m so upset with myself for not being able to make a decision."

"Then be my girlfriend!"

Jennifer lifted her head slowly. "What?"

Sawyer knelt down and raised his head confidently to face his ex-fiancé. "I actually still love you, even now. Why didn’t you notice me?"

"I thought you didn’t care about me anymore."

"If I didn’t care about you, why would I still want to have dinner with you? If I already loved another woman, I’d rather have dinner with them than with you, who disgusts me."

"I really hoped you’d ask me to start over," Jennifer hugged her ex-fiancé tightly. "Sawyer, I still can’t forget you. What happened two years ago, I was truly cruel. If I hadn’t been so selfish, I wouldn’t have left you."

"No. Two years ago, it wasn’t entirely your fault. I was selfish back then, too. If I’d been thinking about you, I would have followed you abroad too." His right hand slowly stroked his lover’s hair.

"I’m sorry, Sawyer. I’m such a shameless woman. I broke the bad news so suddenly, and you were so shocked."

"In fact, before you’re actually matched with another man, you have to officially be my girlfriend first. I don’t like seeing you stolen by another man."

"I’ll be your girlfriend. It’s so annoying when I have dinner with another guy."

In the end, they smiled happily at each other and hugged. Jennifer was relieved now; she had nothing to worry about anymore, as she was now officially Sawyer’s girlfriend. The only thing left was to confront her parents.

"By the way, if you cancel the blind date tomorrow, how are you going to face your parents?"

"Don’t worry. I won’t let them ruin our relationship."

"Then, I want us to have dinner first." Sawyer opened all the food packages he bought one by one.

Jennifer couldn’t hold back the urge to act spoiled anymore. She immediately leaned her head on her lover’s shoulder and hugged him. She wasn’t crying anymore, thanks to him having won her heart, and she wanted to savor this beautiful moment even longer.

"Sawyer, if I ever hurt your feelings again, you have to tell me directly."

"I won’t be offended if you’re too good for me."

Jennifer let out a happy laugh and kissed her lover’s cheek. "I miss hanging out with you in my free time. I want to go on dates with you every lunchtime and dinnertime."

Sawyer kissed his girlfriend briefly on the cheek. "In fact, without you asking, I want to do it all. By the way, if you’re having trouble dealing with your parents, you should take me with you."

"But, are you okay with it? If my parents curse you?"

This husband and wife are still sweet after being released from the hospital. Victoria feels her right hand is getting better. She would love to do more fun things with her husband, but the current situation doesn’t allow for that. She can only sit quietly and enjoy the food he gives her.

"Matty, I want to eat alone."

Matthias pursed his lips as he placed the bowl on the table. "Your hand is still injured, but you’re pushing yourself!"

"I’m just bored of being fed by you every day."

"So, you’re tired of being fed by your own husband? Should I teach you a lesson?"

Victoria shook her head quickly. "No way. Right now, I want to focus on recovering my right hand so I don’t need to be fed anymore and can work in peace."

"From my perspective, don’t worry, I won’t force you to work hard. But I’m worried your client will still push you."

"Actually, I’ve been really bored lately when I’m not working. I go on vacation a lot, and now I’ve had a major disaster. I’m sure they’ll think I’m lazy."

"Victoria, if they dare to speak to you like that openly, you must call me. I will be the one to fight them all."

Victoria laughed so hard her face turned red. "By the way, can you feed me again? I’m still hungry."

Matthias laughed mischievously, pinching his wife’s cheek with a little force. "It seems you’ve become more spoiled since you were pregnant."

After finishing her dinner, the challenge now was to take the antibiotics she hated so much. Throughout her hospital stay, she had been responsible for taking them until her supply ran out.

As she opened the antibiotic package with her left hand, she pursed her lips as if staring at poison. Her left hand trembled as she held a tablet, but it was immediately snatched away by her husband, who appeared from behind.

"I know this medicine tastes so bitter that you hate it."

"If only the medicine tasted sweet. I would definitely like it."

"Do you know how I can change the taste of medicine from bitter to sweet?"

"How do you do that? Are you going to add sugar to the medicine?"

Matthias smiled mischievously and popped the pill into her mouth. Then, he pressed his lips to hers, passing the pill with his tongue. Moving from his mouth to hers, his wife’s gaze widened.

The wife swallowed the medicine quickly while sipping a glass of water. For the first time, the technique of taking medicine was different from her usual, making her heart pound.
