Chapter 150: Chapter 150: Is It Wrong If I’m Pregnant?
Of course, Victoria didn’t want to let her self esteem plummet even further just because of the strange rumors circulating about her. Victoria tried to hold back her tears in front of everyone, because if she did, it would prove she was weak and defeated. She actually wanted to laugh at everyone in the room for carelessly slandering her without first knowing the facts. She felt like she wanted to spill her secret to avoid any further misunderstandings.
However, on second thought, if she had just revealed that she was married to Matthias, would the situation have improved? This was what made her still doubt her decision. Should she keep quiet about this until Matthias allowed her to tell him about their marriage?
"Is it wrong if I’m pregnant? What if I’m married, but my husband and I deliberately keep our relationship a secret?"
"Then how are you going to prove it to us?!" one of the old men snapped, banging on the table.
"I’ll prove it to you when the time is right. But I don’t want you to carelessly choose a leader for the D&C Group. You must choose wisely."
After the council meeting concluded, the war continued as everyone had left the room, except for the remaining family members. Victoria’s gaze sharpened, fixated on her main enemy, who had acted beyond her bounds, causing her blood pressure to rise even further. If there weren’t CCTV cameras in this room, she would have attacked the two cunning women without hesitation.
The stepmother folded her arms and glared at Victoria. "Are you crazy? Don’t you know how important this emergency meeting is?!"
Victoria laughed awkwardly, her hands on her hips. "Shouldn’t you be the one who knows your place? How dare you call an emergency meeting so quickly without my permission!"
"Go ahead and curse me however you want. A lowly woman like you definitely doesn’t deserve the highest position in the D&C Group!"
Fransisca spontaneously nudged her mother’s hand gently. "Mom, you better stop! Don’t make any more noise!"
"It’s your stepsister who’s causing all the commotion! Do you want her to take your place?"
"But you’ll only make things worse." Fransisca looked at her stepsister for a moment with pity. "I’m sorry. I didn’t want the board meeting to be held so soon, either."
Victoria was disgusted by Fransisca’s constant hypocrisy. She knew full well that her stepsister was also vying for her position. "Fransisca, if you didn’t want to, you should have said so from the start."
"But, my father’s will shows that I am the primary heir."
"I’m sure that will was deliberately forged by someone. My father wouldn’t have wanted to give all his wealth to a stranger!"
Gianna slammed her fist on the table. "You’re so insolent! I wonder why you’re getting more and more rude as time goes on! Is it because your head was damaged after your accident?"
Victoria laughed sarcastically, gently pushing her stepmother’s shoulder. "Actually, I’m still curious about the accident from two years ago. Why did you erase all traces of it?"
Gianna’s expression turned pale. She swallowed nervously, cold sweat breaking out on her face. Victoria already suspected her stepmother was behind all these strange incidents. If Gianna wasn’t the culprit, her expression wouldn’t be so nervous.
"By the way, I still have some business to attend to. I’m going now," Victoria said, grabbing her sling bag.

Now Victoria was left to figure out how to prove to the board of commissioners that she had been married to Matthias since before the accident. It was already nighttime. For some reason, Victoria felt something was odd about her husband’s continued silence, even though he was usually talkative and took the initiative to pick her up. Now, she had to take a taxi home alone.
Even though her husband was acting a little strange today, she pushed her negative thoughts aside. Perhaps he’d been busy at work all day, making him in a bad mood. So, she decided to make him his favorite dinner.
An hour had passed, and she had finally finished cooking all of her husband’s favorite dishes and served them on the dining table. Now she just had to wait for him to come home, desperately craving a warm hug from him.
Hearing someone enter the living room, she immediately got up from the sofa and ran to her husband, who still looked so refreshed. Her arms wrapped around him tightly, trying to relieve her longing.
"Matty, I’ve been waiting for you for a while. What’s wrong with you today?"
Matthias smiled faintly, gently stroking his wife’s head. "Tory, I missed you so much too. I’ve been busy at work all day today."
"I was really worried about you. I’d been calling you, but you rarely responded to my messages. I thought something had happened to you."
His lips landed on the top of her head deeply. A deep pain arose in his heart. He still wasn’t ready to say such hurtful words to his wife, because she was too sweet right now.
Victoria broke the hug for a moment and then gripped her husband’s hand tightly. "How about we have dinner first? I’ve cooked all your favorites?"
Matthias nodded. He decided he wanted to enjoy one last romantic dinner with his wife before he declared war.
In the middle of dinner, his overly sweet wife fed him, making him even more reluctant to hurt her feelings. However, if he remained silent, this whole problem would never be resolved. He was trying to figure out how to stop his wife from crying, but it seemed he would see her cry after hearing what he said. His eyes were even redder now, imagining the terrible fight they were about to have.
"Matthias, what’s wrong with you? Is the food I cooked not delicious enough?"
Finally, Matthias fixed his wife with a sharp look. "Victoria, I don’t think this is the right thing for us to do."
"What do you mean?"
"I want us to end this relationship."
