Chapter 222: Ocean Romantic View

Chapter 222: Chapter 222: Ocean Romantic View

They had previously vacationed in Guam and Switzerland, and now they’re honeymooning in the Maldives. Victoria and Matthias have long wanted to vacation in this tropical country, known for its stunning ocean views. Because they love the ocean so much, they decided to spend a five-day vacation there.

Upon arrival in the country, Victoria and Matthias immediately visited the resort they had booked long ago. The resort features a variety of amenities, including a swimming pool and ocean access. Now they can enjoy ocean views all day long.

It was only the first day they arrived in this country, they didn’t want to do too much activity because they had been exercising all night. What they are doing now is walking along the coast while soaking their feet to feel the clear sea water.

Victoria deliberately splashed sea water on her husband using her feet repeatedly because she was still not satisfied with playing in the water with her husband while in Guam.

"Tory, you are still so naughty even now!"

"Actually, the previous game wasn’t over yet." Victoria scratched her head as she looked up at the sky. "It turns out the view here is really beautiful."

"You don’t need to change the subject. I know you’re going to attack me again!"

Victoria splashed water on her husband again. This time, Matthias wasn’t to be outdone. He also splashed water on his wife until she was already wet.

"Matty! You’re naughty too, but you’re the one who’s been protesting!"

"Actually, I wasn’t satisfied playing with you that time either. But since you encouraged me earlier, I want to play with you again."

Eventually, they chased each other along the shore until sunset. Exhausted from playing on the beach, they took a short break on the shore, gazing at the beautiful evening sky, and the soothing sound of the ocean waves.

"Matty, I’ve been wanting to ask you something for a while now."

"What do you want to ask?"

"Why do you like the sea so much?"

His lips briefly touched her forehead. "Because I’m actually really bored of city life. Especially since you disappeared from me for two years, and I never saw the ocean again with you."

"Is living in America boring? But why does everyone want to live there?"

"Many people say that social life there is very free. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. I’ve even been a victim of harassment myself several times."

Her eyes widened. "Why didn’t you tell me about this important matter earlier?"

"Because I can actually overcome this problem. Even though I was almost a victim of harassment, I’m not that easily trapped in those traps."

Victoria hugged her husband tightly. "You must have suffered a lot while you were there."

"I’ve been suffering so much. I don’t know anyone except Amber and Marcel. The two years I’ve lived there, I’ve been thinking about you all the time. What about you really? Have you really forgotten about me and married another man?"

"It turns out I was the one who almost betrayed you back then. I’m sorry, Matthias. I wish I had realized it from the start."

"I lived without you for two years, and I almost gave up. I didn’t want to be greedy for my position there, so I immediately contacted my grandfather and asked for the position of CEO of T&H Real Estate so I could start over with you."

Her head hung even lower as she imagined how much her husband, who depended on his job, must have suffered. Furthermore, he could only rely on Amber while in America. So, it was no wonder Amber had always misunderstood him. If Matthias had been more selfish, the woman he married now would have been Amber.

Matthias held her hand, which bore her wedding ring. "I’d go to any country I wanted, as long as I had you with me, I wouldn’t feel empty. I could take you to America, too."

"There’s no need to go that far. Just inviting me here on vacation makes me happy. I can swim all day in the resort and enjoy the ocean view at all times."

"Do you want to go back to the resort now? It’s getting cold."

Victoria furrowed her brows. "This is a tropical country. Why did you assume it would be cold? I’ve been feeling hot all this time."

"The night air is cold no matter where you are. I don’t want you to catch a cold from spending too much time at the beach. I’d rather let you swim at the resort."

For a moment, she held herself upright. However, her husband allowed her to climb onto his broad back. She wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulder.

"Matty, isn’t the trip to the resort quite far? Why are you carrying me all of a sudden?"

Matthias smiled broadly as he turned his head. "I don’t want your beautiful feet to hurt from walking so far. Especially since you’ve been running around all this time."

"Then, what about you? Your body will ache too."

"Don’t worry. I exercise a lot too. Lifting your body is like lifting a baby."

Victoria pursed her lips as she gently pinched her husband’s cheek. "So you think your wife is a baby?"

"Because you are so cute like a baby."

"I can actually walk by myself. My legs don’t hurt anymore. You should just put me down."

"What if I don’t want to?"

"You’re really stubborn! If you get aches and pains, I won’t be responsible!"

"I just don’t want to let your legs get sore."

Tired of arguing with her husband, Victoria finally gave in and rested her head on his broad shoulder again.

"Okay, I give up. I like being carried by you now anyway."

"I enjoy serving you. Even though I’m the CEO at work, when it comes to love matters, we’re equals."

"If your legs are sore, you should just put me down instead of us not being able to do much tomorrow!"

"Don’t worry. We’re going swimming all day tomorrow too. I want to take you swimming in the ocean too."
